Chapter 65: Chapter 65: He is Angry
In the conference room back in L.N. Group, Stuart was sitting at the head of the table. He was looking over the financial report and started talking, "Who is in charge of the Financial Department?"
As soon as the director of this department heard Stuart, he stood up immediately, "Yes, sir, that would be me."
"There are three problems with this report. There will be no bonus for you this month. This is just carelessness."
Stuart said it so peacefully, as if what he was talking about the weather. They had been audited six times now, but Stuart still found mistakes in it. The director was so upset that he almost cried.
Picking up another report, he scanned it, asking, "Okay, the same goes for the Advertisement department. Who is the head of this department? Can any of you do your job, right?"
The director stood up immediately, "Yes, sir, sorry, sir." Stuart threw it on the table, shocking everyone at the meeting. They all became nervous. "This isn’t done right either. Do it again," Stuart said in a stern voice.
The director almost broke down. He didn’t even point out the problem, and he just threw it. He didn’t know if he still had a job or he should start packing up his belongings. He tried to remain calm, but he was terribly distraught.
All the directors in the conference room were condemned; they felt like criminals who had been sentenced to the death penalty. Ivan had been standing at the door the whole time and asked Mr. Sampson, "Why is he so angry today? What happened?"
Mr. Sampson told him in a low voice, "Mrs. Yates has been shooting a film and has been really busy. She hasn’t contacted him in four days." That’s all he had to say, and Ivan precisely knew what was wrong with Stuart. He was missing Edie.
A man as proud as Stuart would never call her first. He was never rational when it came to his wife. No one dared to talk to him today, not even Mr. Sampson. It didn’t matter what was discussed in the conference room, and there was no solution.
All of a sudden, there was a knock on the door. Ivan opened the door immediately and asked what happened. When Stuart was in a meeting, no one dared to interrupt, so Ivan knew it had to be important.
The receptionist said to Mr. Sampson in a low voice, "It’s our liberator." Mr. Sampson froze, and then he knelt down beside Stuart to tell him.
"Mr. Anderson and Mr. William’s are waiting for you." Stuart didn’t even raise his eyes, "Let them wait. I am not finished." Mr. Sampson shook his head in disbelief. He couldn’t believe what he had just heard.
He thought he had misunderstood him, so he started to ask him again, "Mr. Yates..." Stuart said sharply, "You heard me." Mr. Sampson moved slowly towards Ivan. "Last time, when his wife called, he dismissed the meeting immediately. Now today, when Mr. Anderson and Mr. Williams arrive, he asks them to wait."
He couldn’t understand what was going on in Stuart’s mind. Mr. Sampson started thinking, " He is the CEO of the company, and business always came first and now...."
The meeting finished after forty minutes, and all the directors rushed out of the conference room with a troubled look on their faces. Stuart stood up and walked out of the room, asking Ivan, "Where are they?"
"In the VIP room," said Ivan. Stuart opened the door to the room and saw them concentrating on a game of Flying chess. Jason burst into laughter, "Todd, you lose again." freeweɓnovel.cøm
He cursed Jason and waved his hands in the air, "Jesus, man, I don’t believe you beat me again."
"Todd, you have lost eight times in a row. What’s up? Have you run out of energy in the bedroom too?" Jason started ridiculing him. Pissed off, he said, "Fuck you, let’s have another game? I am not stopping until I win."
Staring at them, Stuart asked in an unfeeling matter, "Are you two planning on spending the night?" As soon as they heard Stuart’s voice, they both stood up immediately, "Stuart." Stuart sat down on the sofa and said, "Okay, what’s up. What do you guys want?"
They wouldn’t just show up for no reason, so why were they there? It had to be important. Jason said with a smirk on his face, "It’s no big deal, but Todd got some more wine. He’s going to his chateau for a few days and thought he’d drop one-off."
Todd loved wine and just recently bought a chateau in Offenburg. If he had any free time, that was where he would go. Immediately the mentioning of wine brought back memories to Stuart. That night, the Cabernet and the lust he had for Edie.
Todd raised his eyebrows and asked, "Bro, how did the wine taste? Have you tried it yet? It is the best wine that I have tasted. It is so potent that all it takes is three glasses, and you’re drunk."
Stuart looked at Todd and said, "Okay, how about next time you give me a couple of bottles?"
"Bro, it’s a rare wine. I had a hard time getting one bottle, let alone several bottles of it. Why don’t you come up to the chateau with me and have a look in my cellar? You can have whatever you want and take it back to the Villa with you."
Stuart refused, "I still have some other business to attend to." The wine reminded him of Edie and how he hasn’t talked to her in a few days. Jason tried to persuade him, "We can’t go without you, come on, it will be fun. Just like the old times." Todd butted in, "With all the executives you have here, you shouldn’t need to worry about a thing."
Mr. Sampson overheard the conversation, "Mr. Yates." He never interrupted Stuart or his friends. Stuart raised his eyes and stared at him. "Why don’t you go to the chateau? It will do you good to relax, and the scenery is beautiful.
Stuart’s eyes started shining. Ivan thought Mr. Sampson had made a mistake by reminding him, but it was the exact opposite. The chateau was the shooting spot for The White-Love-Song. Mr. Sampson sighed; he now knew why Mr. Yates didn’t like him very much. He should have come up with the idea first.
