Chapter 66: Chapter 66: He Came
As expected, Stuart gave him a piercing stare. Then he realized that he should have kept his mouth shut. He felt like such an idiot.
Stuart doesn’t go on vacation. He just wanted to see his wife. Todd stopped smiling and casually asked, "White-Love-Song? Why does that sound so familiar? Who is the actress in that movie?"
Jason actually knew who it was. He said on purpose, "Queenie, do you know her? Oh yes, her, she’s just a little star, and how is it possible that I know her?" While Jason was talking, Todd held his fist tightly behind him.
"I guess we are going to the chateau," Stuart had made the decision. Todd didn’t say anything, and his mind was wandering. Something that Jason said brought back memories from his past. He finally nodded and said, "All right then, to the chateau it is." He paused, "I want to take Fiji with me."
Jason frowned and asked, "Fifi, when did you get a new dog?"
"What are you talking about? You met her before, and she’s my woman now," he said with a level of disgust. Todd didn’t care that Jason was so disrespectful. Most guys had lots of women around. They never took their women seriously.
They took them as their dogs, praising them, feeding them, and spending all kinds of money on them. A dog can stay with you for years as a woman may last three months. Perhaps there was one woman. Todd seemed to recall someone. All these thoughts were raising through his mind. Then, he returned to reality, "Great choice, let’s get packed and head over there today."
While shooting, there was a little accident. Just as Edie and Queenie were about to take their places on the set, the director announced, "action." Right then, someone had grabbed his arm.
He stared at him, his voice seething with anger, "What the hell? We are shooting. Are you blind? Could you not wait until we are done filming?" The director had no choice he had to stop the filming. He had to listen to the man.
After their conversation, the director got angrier, "Why didn’t you tell me this before? Why is it that I only hear this now?"
The man felt deeply wronged by his accusations. It was not his fault. Without saying a word to anyone, the director rushed out. Everyone was confused, and they had no idea if they should continue or if they were done for the day. The assistant director George stayed, "Attention everyone, we are going to take a break for twenty minutes."
"What happened?" Queenie asked.
Edie shook her head, "I have no idea."
"Maybe we should ask George," Queenie suggested.
George was a middle-aged man and had an excellent temperament. He was a soft-spoken and kind man, so if he knew what was going on, he would definitely tell them. They each got a cup of coffee and walked towards George.
Queenie gave George her cup and smiled, "George, do you know what happened?" Taking the coffee, he looked around to make sure no one could overhear him. He adjusted his glasses and said, "Yes, I could hear the man talking, and I am not sure if anyone else overheard their conservation. You cannot tell anyone."
Queenie nodded, "We won’t; you can trust us." She was right. Queenie was always discrete. She never talked about anyone behind their back. Edie was also like her. Lowering his voice, George told them, "I heard that Mr. Yates was coming for a visit."
Edie started to shake and spilled her coffee on the ground. Seeing Edie’s reaction, George was shocked, "Edie, what’s wrong? Did I say something wrong?"
She was so embarrassed, she waved her hands and said, "I...I bit my tongue accidentally. George, who is Mr. Yates?" She took a chance that maybe there was another Mr. Yates in the city. Stuart had such a big company. Why would he be coming here, and when would he have the time?
"The CEO of L.N. group, Stuart Yates."
Edie felt incredibly dizzy, and she must have heard him wrong. "Did you say, Stuart Yates?"
"Yes, I did and not just him. Mr. Anderson and Mr. Williams are coming with him on vacation. They will be here for several days. The director went to prepare for their visit. The play is critical to the Universe Entertainment. So, I guess that’s why Mr. Yates has decided to visit."
Why did he make such an abrupt decision? He never called or gave her any notice. Edie’s head started to spin again. She looked at Queenie and noticed the look of shock on her face.
George never expected their reaction would be so severe. He got confused, "Is there a problem?"
Edie and Queenie both said at the same time, "No."
The stage supervisor came in announcing, "Mr. Yates will arrive in one hour. We need to be at the door in thirty minutes."
"Mr. Yates? Do you mean Stuart Yates? Quiet, you can’t say his name out loud. Oh my God, I can’t believe I am going to see him in person. No one has ever been able to get a picture of him. I heard he is very handsome, and I wonder what he looks like?" Everyone was talking about him.
Then Peach, the assistant of Queenie, yelled, "Queenie, what happened to you?" frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
Edie froze. She turned around to check on Queenie. She looked pale, biting her lower lip, it seemed as though something was bothering her.
Edie supported Queenie, "Queenie, are you alright? Are you uncomfortable?"
Queenie tried her best to remain calm, holding Edie’s hand, "Edie, I feel a little uncomfortable. I need to rest. Could you tell the director for me?"
Edie nodded, "All right. Do you want me to call the doctor?"
"No, I just need some rest."
Then Peach helped her, and she went back to the Villa. Suddenly, Edie thought of something. She felt sick when she heard Stuart’s name. Has anything happened between them before?
