Chapter 167: Chapter 167: She Violently Struck By The Car
The White Love Song was almost finished. Soon, Edie would shoot the most crucial scene of the film.
Once Susan found out the type of person that Lola was, Susan wanted to get her out of her life completely, which would leave Lola with no support from the Wilson’s. After Lola found out that there was no way out, she would drive a car and run into Susan.
She would be wounded severely and would pass away. Before her death, she wanted all her organs donated. With an arrangement being made that at the time of her death, her heart was to be given to Abbey, who had congenital heart disease. In the end, Abbey got a healthy heart, and she and Hank got back together. Abbey was with the man that she had loved forever.
This was one of the most important scenes of the play, and it was also Edie’s last role. After finishing, Edie sat down and had a rest. She was sitting there thinking how fast the time had gone by and wondered where Stuart was at this very moment. Her throat tightened in unshed tears of sorrow and anger. No matter how hard she tried to stop thinking about him, she couldn’t.
On the last day of the shooting, there was a press viewing of the White Love Song. All the reporters from mainstream media came. They intended to do a press release for the publication of the play. The reporters arrived early in the morning.
To make sure that the shooting went smoothly, they stood at a distance from the spot before the interview. Suddenly Edie felt a lot of pressure being surrounded by so many people. The director put considerable effort into the last scene. He calmed Edie down, "Ignore them. Do your job. We have it under control."
Edie nodded and pretended to be relaxed, "I don’t have any words to say only motions, but Sophia has all kinds of things to say. If she gets nervous and decides to lash out at me, I don’t know what I will do."
After being informed of the relationship between Queenie and Sophia, Edie was not impressed.
Usually, she would be jealous of her. But in front of Queenie, she had always been polite. Sometimes she was even willing to blame herself. Edie knew she could not take it without much seriousness. Besides, Sophia looked different recently. Edie had a feeling that Sophia was planning something big.
The director turned towards Sophia, "Sophia, you do not have much experience. How about we get someone else to play your role in this scene? All we need to do is to take some pictures of the car. You do not have to drive."
Sophia refused immediately, "You do not need to do that. I am an excellent driver. You don’t need a substitute, and I will do a good job."
Sophia knew that the director hated using substitutes. He suggested this to her just because he was worried. He did not believe in her acting skills.
If there were no reporters around, she would feel more at ease. But in front of the reporters, she was extremely nervous, and there could be a chance that she could mess up her part. If this happened, there would definitely be consequences. freeweɓnøvel.com
Though Todd would take off everything, she had noticed that he had been acting strange recently. Once she got into the film, he hadn’t called her once, and she did not want to ask him for his help. She had to do this herself and wanted it to be perfect.
"Are you sure? You are a new driver. I need you to be careful and not hurt anyone. Otherwise, the shooting will be delayed again."
Sophia clenched her fists in anger, "No problem."
The director said, "Okay, then let’s start."
Shortly after, they started shooting.
Lola was shocked and stopped in her footsteps. Susan was begging her, "Lola, help me, please. Help my father get the subway project. Otherwise, he will be broke."
"Your father is the mayor. He doesn’t need my help, and he can take care of it himself." Susan was disappointed and wasn’t sure how to explain it to her with hand gestures.
"I think you owe me an explanation as to why you want to hurt Abbey and myself."
Lola felt a little guilty, but she still tried to hide it, "Susan, what are you talking about? I don’t understand. Are we not best friends?"
"Did you not arrange to have Abbey go to the abandoned storehouse and have someone rape her?"
"I....I" Lola felt desperate and didn’t know what to do.
Susan was so emotional that tears spilled down her cheek, "Maybe I have been too greedy. You never really treated me as your friend. Maybe to you, I am just the daughter of the mayor. A way for you to get closer to Hank. But, I was never your friend, was I?"
Lola knew that she learned everything. She did not know how to deny all her accusations. Therefore, she changed the topic, "Susan, we have been friends for many years. Please, can you ever forgive me? Yes, we have always been friends, and I don’t want you to disappear from my life. Please tell me that you understand?"
Susan was shocked by her saying such shameless words. She shook her head slowly and determinedly, "Do not ever contact me again."
Then she turned around and left. Lola was glaring at her, but Susan never looked back. Susan chose to ignore her. It had been the best decision that she had made in a long time, wiping all the memories of Lola from her mind.
Lola saw it another way, she was begging her for her forgiveness, and she didn’t even look at her. Her expression on her face changed from desperation to rage. She didn’t go after Susan; instead, she held her fists tightly and made up her mind.
Susan couldn’t stop crying as she’s walking home; she was so upset about how things ended between her and Lola. Her mind was racing, and her vision was blurred with tears. She could not see that suddenly there was a car rushing towards her. Lola had hated her so much that she wanted her dead.
For this role in the film, Sophia had to put the brakes on right before hitting Edie. Then Edie would roll to the front of the windshield and pretend that she had been hit by the car. Then everything would be handled by the stunt coordinator.
At first, everything went well. Then right at the very end, Sophia had a feeling of relief, and she moved her foot off the brake. Edie was violently struck by the car. She hit the windshield of the vehicle and rolled onto the ground.
After she fell to the ground, people saw the crack on the windshield. No one knew that she was hurt until they saw this.
