Chapter 162: Chapter 162: Don’t Get so Emotional

After watching the scene between Sophia and Queenie, Edie was sure that there must be some hidden secret. Since the costume assistant was in the room with them, she had to control her curiosity. She would talk to Queenie about it later, and she pretended to speak to Queenie casually.

Soon, Edie’s makeup was done, and she needed to go over her lines. She said goodbye to Queenie and left the room. As she closed the door, she saw Sophia leaning against the wall with her head lowered. She looked like she was planning something.

Even though Edie did not like her, she still spoke to her, "What are you doing here?" Sophia was startled, and her lips began to tremble, "Edie, oh, it’s you. You are finished so soon? Is Queenie still in there?"

Edie nodded, "Yes."

She bit her lip, nervously, "Then, I’d better wait out here."

Confused by her expression, Edie asked, "You look like you are afraid of Queenie. Why?" fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com

Sophia shook her head immediately, "No, no. Not at all."

"Then why are you standing out here? Why don’t you wait inside?"

"I....." She hesitated because she did not know how to answer the question. Then, she said, "It is because Queenie hates me."

"Why do you say that?"

Looking around, Sophia approached Edie and whispered, "Please, do not tell anyone about this. The day before yesterday, when we took a rest in the middle of our set. One of the members of the crew said that I looked like Queenie. When she overheard him say this, she got angry. I wanted to explain, but she wouldn’t listen to me. Instead, she blamed it all on me."

Sophia looked like Queenie? Edie thought it was ridiculous. Then she raised her head to take a careful look at Sophia’s face, and she was surprised at what she found. Without any makeup on her face, she did look like Queenie.

When Sophia had makeup on, she looked completely different than Queenie. Besides, their temperament was the exact opposite of another. "So even if I do look like her, I don’t understand why Queenie would get so angry, do you?"

She lowered her head and had a worried look on her face, "Perhaps there is something else that I may have done to offend her? She is a very famous actress, and she made me feel uncomfortable."

Edie felt sympathy for Sophia and patted her on the back, "Perhaps it was some kind of misunderstanding between you and her. Talk to her, and I am sure everything will be okay."

Sophia quickly raised her head and looked at Edie with a sparkle in her eye, "Edie, could you please explain it to her? I do not think she will listen to me. Please help me to fix my relationship with Queenie?"

It sounded reasonable, so Edie nodded, "All right. I will try and find the time tonight and talk to her." frёeweɓηovel.coɱ

She looked at her and flashed a sunny smile, "Thank you very much, Edie."

She had to admit that Sophia was gorgeous. No wonder Todd liked her.

"Edie, come here. I want to talk about the scene today," the director called her.

As Edie turned around, the soft bright smile on Sophia’s face disappeared. All that was left was an ironic smile teasing the corner of her mouth.

"Ready, action."

Edie had entered into the middle of the stage. The leading actresses and actors had more scenes than before, while the views for supporting actresses had been lessened. Edie’s role would dissolve the engagement with the leading actor’s part. She was supposed to cry hard on this scene in the film.

Before the shooting started, Rhoda asked Edie whether she wanted to use some eye drops, and Edie refused.

"I think it might do me good if I get a chance to cry hard," Edie said under her breath, and then she walked onto the stage. The director looked very satisfied when he saw Edie and Jason standing there. They both looked gorgeous.

"Action," his voice trembled with excitement. As soon as the director gave the order, Edie became the mute girl, Susan. She looked like a blooming Camellia, delicate and elegant. Hank looked frustrated. He did not know how to tell Susan the truth.

Smiling, Susan raised her slender fingers and said to him, "Hank, we have to call off our engagement off." Hank was surprised, and then, he felt sympathetic for her, "Susan, you....." Susan’s face was calm and gentle as she unveiled her wound, "I know that you never loved me. The one you truly love is Abbey. You need to go find your happiness. I do not want you to be me when I know you love another."

There was no hesitation, and she could not hold back her tears. The tears streamed down her face.

"I, I do not want to hurt you. You are the kindest woman I have ever met. I hope you can find happiness," seeing how upset she was, Hank looked troubled. "Hank, maybe if no one ever found out the truth, it would have been for the best?"

Hank looked confused and asked, "What do you mean?"

"Ten years ago, if I hadn’t returned to the Sanchez. No one would have known the truth, and Abbey would still be their daughter. Then, you would have met her first and be engaged to her right now. I don’t want there to be any more misunderstandings between us, and I don’t want anyone to suffer anymore. I wish I could take all the pain away."

Edie was dimly gazing at him through tears that filled her swollen eyes.

"No, Susan. I do not want you to suffer anymore so that you can make others happy. You would have suffered even more if you were in Abbey’s family."

Abbey’s father was an alcoholic, and he had committed violent acts against his family. Susan was already aware of this, "I stole all this from Abbey, the love from the family and even you. All of this should have belonged to her."

Susan could not stop crying, and Hank’s heart started to beat faster, and he hugged her. Leaning against his shoulder, Susan closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and said, "I will always love you."

"Cut, that’s a wrap," the director said.

Edie and Jason separated immediately and nodded politely at one another. Then they returned to their rest area. "How do you feel?" asked Rhonda as Edie wiped her tears away carefully, trying not to mess up her makeup,

Unexpectedly, Rhoda burst into tears, "Susan was such a poor girl. She couldn’t speak, oh how awful it must have been for her. And now, she has to go through all this....." Edie did not know whether to laugh or cry. She gently pushed Rhoda and reminded her," Remember this only a movie, don’t get so emotional."

She was surprised at Rhonda’s reaction and never expected that she would be more emotional than she was. Rhonda let out a sigh and said, "Never mind about me, look at the director." Edie turned to look at him and was surprised to see that he was secretly wiping away his tears.
