Chapter 142: Chapter 142: She Felt Awful to Disobey Him
Edie gasped in pain, and almost immediately, a cold sweat broke out on her forehead. It slowly dripped down her face. She now had a deep suspicion that she was fighting a losing battle. She clenched her fists and raised her head to look at him. It was as though her fear of him was gone, she looked into his eyes, "What right do you have to do this to me? I have told you this many times, why do you still refuse to let me go!"
"Let you go? You never let go of me, why should I let you go?" Donald screamed. His jaw tightened until you could see a blue vein starting to bulge in his neck. Edie looked at him in surprise as she had never seen this look in his face before.
She remembered the look he had at the coffee shop, but this look he had now was much more intense. Was he going crazy? He was, he had to be. There was no other explanation, and Edie started to panic. His hand was now on her shoulder, and with all strength, he began to squeeze.
Edie began to fear that Donald was irrational. Even if he didn’t remember her, would he listen to what she had to say? She struggled desperately to remove his hand, but couldn’t he was too strong, "Are you crazy? Have you lost your mind? Let me go!"
Donald ignored her and wasn’t even paying attention to how much she was struggling. He glared at her as if he was in a trance. In his dark eyes, there is no trace of the past tenderness. The only resentment could be seen.
Whatever Edie said, Donald didn’t seem to hear her. Absorbed in his own world and not realizing what he was doing, he suddenly raised his hand and moved it to her neck. His big hand was wrapped around her delicate neck, and he ignored her quickening pulse.
She feared for her life and didn’t know what he was going to do next, Donald! What are you doing? It’s me. Let me go!" No matter how much she struggled and shouted, Donald’s strength increased slowly, and his fingers tightened.
His lips tightened, and he glared at her angrily. There was no stopping him, and she knew he was going to kill her, "Help!" His hand was so strong, and when he heard her voice, he tightened his grip even harder. Edie saw that there was no emotion in Donald’s eyes and said, "Perish together."
With the lack of oxygen to her brain, she began to feel dizzy and was trying to gasp for air. Her eyes started to close. She thought she was dying and tried to speak out, but could not breathe. She continued to struggle, but he was too strong. A tear slid from the corner of her eye, and suddenly, she gave up.
She almost felt at peace as she thought about her mother and how she would be waiting for her.
Boom—
At that moment, the door of the warehouse was suddenly kicked open, and it struck the wall with great force. Before Edie could react, she saw a figure rushing in at a tremendous speed, pushing Donald to the ground. She was paralyzed, Edie slid down the metal racks and onto the floor and gasped for air.
When she regained consciousness, she looked up at the man who came to save her. The man looked down at her, and his face was cold. You could see the anger stirring up inside of him like never before.
It was Stuart, and this was the first time he had looked at Edie this way. Edie panicked, and a feeling of dread rose in her heart. Was Stuart angry? She wanted to say something to explain. Instead of listening to her, Stuart picked her up and held her tightly in his arms. Then he started to walk out of the warehouse.
Edie glanced at Donald, and he was lying on the ground, he was lifeless. His black hair was covering his eyes, and she could not see the look on his face. When she looked at Donald, she raised her hand and said, "stop." Stuart’s cold eyes stared at her.
Edie was in a lot of pain, but found the courage to say, "Wait a minute; I need to see how Donald is." Stuart’s eyes narrowed fiercely and were full of emotion. Edie was afraid to ask him, but she had to go back.
"Edie, do you know what you’re doing?" Hearing him questioning her, Edie could feel sadness in her heart. There was nothing between her and Donald, but with him staring at her, she felt like she was doing something wrong.
She felt awful to disobey Stuart, but she knew she would never forgive herself if she left Donald alone. Donald’s behavior was not something that could be explained. He had apparently lost his mind. fгeewebnovёl.com
This made her wonder whether this was related to Donald’s memory loss. If what happened a year ago would make Donald completely forget her and even change his temperament.
"Stuart, I know what I’m doing. I’m sorry. Please wait a few minutes for me." Edie looked at him with tears in her eyes. He looked at her with an in-depth and silent look, Edie thought he was going to refuse, and then he turned around and left.
Edie knew he was outraged, but what she needed to do was to deal with Donald’s problem. As for Stuart, she would explain it to him and hope that he would understand. She bit her lower lip and turned around and walked up to Donald. She crouched down beside him so she could look into his eyes.
It was as though the madness and horror had all faded away, and now there was nothing left in his eyes, "Donald, are you okay? It’s me, Edie." He looked like a child lying there, helpless and pitiful. He heard Edie’s voice, and his body started to move as if he had been awakened. Then he shook his hand that he used to strangle Edie. His eyes were now full of incredible emotions.
