Chapter 143: Chapter 143: You Don’t Understand
Seeing Donald like this, Edie almost felt sorry for him. "Donald, are you okay? Do you need a doctor?" As Edie spoke, she wanted to get closer and see what was wrong with him. Just as she was about to get close, Donald hollered at her, "Get away from me, don’t come any closer!"
Donald had a headache, and he was still holding on to the metal shelf. He was struggling to get up, "Get away from me and run as fast as you can because I’m not sure I’ll hurt you again!" Edie scowled at him, "What’s the matter with you? Can’t you control yourself?"
Donald was so angry that he picked up the ceramic plate on the shelf and threw it at Edie’s feet.
"Get out! You don’t understand, and I don’t think you ever will? Stay away from!" As he roars, he smashed down one plate after another.
He was throwing all the plates at Edie’s feet, making her stand up and back away from him until she was finally at the door. Edie asked him, "Donald, when did this all start? Was it a year ago? What the hell happened to you in America? Did Karen know what you were going through?" Edie’s heart was full of doubt.
Before she had a chance to finish, Donald, like a raging lion, shouted, "What are you trying to say? Do you think I’m crazy? I’m not sick! I don’t need a doctor, and I don’t need your pity! Get out of here!"
With that, Donald picked up a small shelf next to him and smashed it straight in Edie’s direction.
Edie was frightened by his madness and immediately turned to get out of the way. Then all of a sudden, she ran out, and there was a loud noise that echoed from behind her. It was evident that Donald used what strength he had to slam the door.
Edie felt terrified when she looked at the door. She didn’t know what was going on with him, but she knew she could not go back in. She then thought about Stuart. She looked around and saw that he had indeed left.
She was so disappointed to see that he had actually gone. She had to explain to him, but first, she had to deal with Donald. She pulled out her phone from her pocket and started to call Karen.
The last time she visited Donald in the hospital, Karen left her phone number with her. She told her that she could contact her if there were any problems with Donald.
She never thought she would have to call her; she dialed her number and seemed as though her phone was off. She hung up and sent Karen a text message asking her to pick up Donald. Edie didn’t say anything about what had happened that he needed her.
She had always thought that Karen knew more than she was letting on. She didn’t know if Karen could be trusted, so it was better not to let her know. When she was done, she finally gathered up the courage to call Stuart. It was ringing, and she prayed that he would answer, "Please pick up the phone, Stuart."
She was really worried that Stuart would not answer because he was angry about how she reacted. His phone only rang twice, and suddenly he answered. He didn’t speak, but Edie could hear his steady breathing through the line, which meant he was listening.
Edie was relieved and hurriedly said, "Stuart, where are you? I need to talk to you." Stuart finally spoke, but his voice was cold, "Don’t you need to take care of Donald?" Stuart appeared to be cold and cheerless, and this wasn’t him because whenever it came to Edie, he was always gentle and kind. She could tell this was not easy for him. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
Stuart was now speaking to Edie in the same tone as everyone else, and Edie was listening with such pain in her heart. "Stuart, would you like me to explain why I did what I did?" Stuart was silent and finally said, "meet me at the VIP lounge on the sixteenth floor."
Edie took the elevator to the sixteenth floor and went to the door of the VIP lounge. The door was open. Just as she was stepping through the door, she was pulled in by a tremendous force on her wrist, and then the door closed behind her.
Before she could react, Stuart threw her against the door. Her back hit the door, and it began to hurt more intensely. She cringed from the discomfort. She was still suffering from severe pain from the episode with Donald. The pain was almost too great to endure.
All the guilt and inactivity in her mind soon subsided, and she said, "What are you doing?" As she spoke, she took her hand and put it against his chest, trying to push him away. Her back was painful, and he was so close. She could feel his breath on her face, and it was so cold.
She had always disliked Stuart’s attitude. He could be very domineering and treated people like they were an object, and she didn’t have the patience for it. Not only was Stuart intimidating in his manner, but his eyes were horribly harsh. He stared at her face as if he were looking at her with a cold blade. His manner was violent, and his appearance was unattractive.
He narrowed his eyes into a deadly squint and said, "I just saved your life." He had arrived just in time to save her, and without Stuart, the consequences would have been terrible. Edie’s anger softened, and she apologized to Stuart. "I’m sorry. Thank you for saving my life. You always seem to be there whenever I need you the most."
Stuart’s face softened a little, but his eyes were still cold. Edie felt a bit uncomfortable by his staring, "But could you step back a little bit and not get so close? You’re making me uncomfortable."
