Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Extra Talent Witchcraft

After the heart entered his mouth, Andre didn’t chew. Instead, he used his tongue to push it directly to the back of his throat and began practicing his Meditation Technique.

This drew even more Magic Power into his body.

As more and more Magic Power flooded his system, fleshy tendrils inside his chest began to grow. They pierced through his esophagus, snaked upward through his throat, and tightly enveloped the heart.

It was time for the third Potion.

Andre fought back the discomfort, uncorked the final Potion, and carefully poured it into his mouth. He clamped his jaw shut, determined not to let a single drop escape.

At first, the final Potion had no effect. It only seemed to prevent Andre from breathing.

But as a large amount of Magic Power accumulated in his body, the Potion activated and began to work.

At first, there were no visible changes. But as the Potion activated, a faint glow appeared at his lips. Following the path of the Magic Power he was absorbing, the light swiftly spread throughout his entire body.

After a long while, the faint glow receded, retracting back into Andre’s mouth.

By now, under the effect of the potions, the specially prepared Earth Bear Heart had transformed into a half-flesh, half-energy structure.

The heart, which had been lodged in his throat, was now forcibly dragged down his esophagus by the fleshy tendrils.

Now a half-flesh, half-energy hybrid, the heart had become extremely pliable.

When the Earth Bear Heart settled upon his Magic Vortex, a distinct lump bulged from his chest.

This lump was the Earth Bear Heart he had consumed with the aid of the potions.

At this, Radak’s nerves tensed. This was the final, critical stage of constructing the Magic Heart.

Andre felt the agony wracking his body. The pain was so intense he was on the verge of fainting, but still, he did not stop.

He then began stuffing the other materials required for the Magic Heart’s creation into his mouth, swallowing them one by one.

With every item that slid down his esophagus, the pain in his chest intensified. But Andre couldn’t afford to focus on the pain; he just kept stuffing more materials into his mouth.

Once inside his body, these materials reacted with the potions, liquefying and coating the transforming Earth Bear Heart. freёweɓnovel.com

As more materials were introduced, the Earth Bear Heart’s transformation into pure energy accelerated.

By the time the sun reached its zenith, the Earth Bear Heart had finished its transformation, becoming a being of pure energy.

At that very moment, the fusion began.

The residual effects of the potions kicked in. The powder Andre had previously sprinkled on the heart and the Vortex Potion he drank all activated at once, using his Magic Vortex to pull the Energy Heart toward his own.

As the Energy Heart made contact with Andre’s own, a Golden Light flashed across his body for an instant before vanishing.

"Divine Blood," Radak murmured. "It seems Andre reaped some significant benefits in the Secret Realm."

Seeing the Golden Light on Andre’s skin, Radak instantly recognized it as the Power of a Divine Spirit.

However, Radak didn’t assume Andre was a Divine Descendant. Instead, he figured Andre must have found the remains of a Divine Spirit in the Secret Realm.

With the flash of Golden Light, the effects of the three potions peaked. Inside Andre’s body, the two hearts began to fuse.

As the two hearts collided, a deep THUMP, THUMP, THUMP echoed from within Andre’s chest, like the beating of a giant drum.

Hearing this sound, Radak’s taut nerves finally began to relax.

The sound meant the fusion had begun and the most dangerous phase was over. The rest was just a matter of time and endurance.

The most perilous stage was the very moment the two hearts touched. By then, the Earth Bear Heart was completely energized.

In that state, contact with any other energy could cause it to collapse. Even with the protection of the potions, contact with the Magic Power in Andre’s body could easily have caused a chaotic reaction, triggering an explosion.

An explosion that would have destroyed Andre’s original heart and blown his chest apart.

But now that the two hearts had begun to fuse, that greatest danger had been averted.

Andre continued to practice his Meditation Technique, following its instructions for building a Magic Heart, constantly mobilizing and circulating Magic Power through his body.

An unknown amount of time passed. Then, with one tremendous heartbeat, Andre’s eyes shot open, and he spat out a blast of yellow light.

The light instantly solidified into a massive boulder that shot into the distance.

"The Talent Witchcraft of the Earth Elemental Bear: Earth and Stone Manipulation."

Seeing Andre exhale that yellow breath, Radak nodded in satisfaction.

This was the greatest difference between a Magic Heart and a Magic Vortex.

When constructing a Magic Heart, one could acquire the Talent Witchcraft that the Magical Beast possessed in life.

The more powerful the Magical Beast, the stronger and more numerous the Talent Witchcrafts acquired.

There was once a lucky individual who fused with the heart of a Giant Dragon, instantly acquiring three Talent Witchcrafts. His power skyrocketed, and he was now a Level 5 Great Wizard.

And while Earth and Stone Manipulation was only a Level 0 Witchcraft, it was the foundation for many Earth Element Witchcrafts and could be improved upon later.

Besides, Andre was still in the early stages of the fusion. Once it was complete, he might even acquire a second Talent Witchcraft.

"Breath of Life. Healing Light."

Seeing Andre successfully fuse with the Earth Bear Heart, Radak put away the Witchcraft Scrolls he had laid out, keeping only two. He tore them open, and the Power of the Witchcrafts washed over Andre.

As the two Healing Element Witchcrafts took effect, the internal injuries Andre had sustained during the fusion began to heal at a rapid pace.

Before long, Andre coughed up several mouthfuls of dark, stagnant blood, and his internal injuries were fully healed.

"Now," Radak said, "you have truly entered the Wizard World!"

Radak watched Andre slowly get to his feet and nodded in satisfaction.

"Truly entered the Wizard World?" freёwebnoѵel.com

A flicker of confusion crossed Andre’s face.

"Before, even though you practiced the Meditation Technique, you had very little Magic Power. You would exhaust it after casting just a few Level 0 Witchcrafts."

"With that level of Power, a few mortals willing to risk their lives could have killed you. The Witchcraft you commanded simply wasn’t that potent."

"But now that you’ve constructed a Magic Heart, everything has changed."

"The power of Witchcraft is limited by two things: Spiritual Power and Magic Power. Now that you have a Magic Heart, your reserves of Magic Power are more than ten times what they were. For two people with the same Spiritual Power, the difference in Magic Power can mean the difference between life and death."

"This is the very reason for the distinction between Elementary and High Level Wizard Apprentices."

Radak looked at Andre, now a High Level Wizard Apprentice, and began the lesson.
