Chapter 580: Chapter 579: We Both Need Time (3)
This photo album, Bella Acker has actually looked through many times; it contains pictures of all the children who stayed at the orphanage.
Aunt Sienna has always treated these photos as her most precious possessions, looking through them every night before bed.
Bella Acker flipped through the photos page by page; there were children shyly smiling, some mischievously playful, and Aunt Sienna feeding a child...
"Plop." A tear fell onto the photo, instantly blurring into a smudge.
Bella Acker raised her hand to cover her mouth, finally bursting into tears with a muffled sob.
Damian Sinclair walked into the room, approached her, wrapped his arm around her shoulder, pulled her into his embrace, and said, "I’m here, go ahead and cry."
"Sob, sob..."
Bella Acker buried her face in his abdomen, crying while suppressing her voice.
Damian Sinclair stroked the top of her head, soothing her gently.
Bella Acker cried for a long time, and gradually, her sobs became silent.
Damian Sinclair reached out to gently brush away the strands of hair stuck to her face, finding that she had cried herself to sleep.
Bella Acker was severely sleep-deprived; otherwise, she wouldn’t have been able to fall asleep like this.
Damian Sinclair gently removed the photo album and bankbook from her hands, took out two thick quilts and blankets from the closet, spread them on the ground, and then wrapped her in them.
It was cooler inside the covers, so Damian Sinclair went to close the door and then returned to lay beside her, pulling her into his arms to sleep.
Perhaps feeling a familiar presence, even in her sleep, Bella Acker unconsciously leaned closer to him, nestled in his arms, and rested her head on his arm as she slept.
Damian Sinclair brushed aside the hair on her forehead, seeing the dark circles under her eyes, his brows furrowed deeply.
His fingers lightly traced over her brows and the dark circles beneath her eyes.
"Damian, stop it, I’m so sleepy," Bella Acker murmured in her deep sleep unconsciously.
After speaking, she even raised her hand to catch the large hand moving around her face, to prevent him from disturbing her rest.
Seeing her acting spoiled as she used to, Damian Sinclair felt his heart tremble.
How long had it been since she completely relied on him like this to act spoiled? It felt like it had been a century.
Damian Sinclair let out a sigh, turned his body, and locked her tightly in his embrace with both arms.
"Bella, I won’t let go!"
Bella Acker slept very deeply and would have continued straight through to the next morning if her stomach hadn’t grumbled with hunger in the middle of the night.
"Hmm?" Bella Acker groggily opened her eyes, her mind blank for a moment before she realized she seemed to be lying in someone else’s arms.
Bella Acker’s body stiffened, and she slightly raised her head to look up.
The gentle, even breaths fell on the top of her head; Damian Sinclair was deeply asleep as he held her.
He was still there.
Bella Acker looked at his handsome face and silently said in her heart.
Damian was truly good-looking, the kind of man who looked strikingly handsome at first sight and even more attractive on closer inspection. Moreover, besides being good-looking, his abilities were exceptional, so it was no surprise so many girls admired him.
Bella Acker quietly reached out, intending to trace the contours of his features, but her hand stopped in mid-air.
There were some things she hadn’t fully thought through...
Bella Acker lowered her eyes, withdrew her hand, and discreetly struggled a bit, trying to slip out of his embrace.
But as soon as she moved, the arm wrapped around her waist tightened more, pulling her closer into his embrace.
