Chapter 578: Chapter 577: We Both Need Time
Bella Acker actually already had an answer in her heart, but still wanted to ask, as if it could prove something more.
Damian Sinclair glanced at her and said, "I’ve already done a DNA test. The child she miscarried has no blood relation to me."
Bella Acker nodded, hearing the answer, she didn’t say much.
Damian Sinclair didn’t ask either, and the two of them stood there in silence.
Ethan held Bella Acker’s hand, curiously looking up at the two of them.
Bella Acker stroked his head and said, "Ethan, shall we come see Aunt Sienna again another time?"
"Okay." Ethan nodded, raised his chubby little hand, and waved at the tombstone, "Aunt Sienna, goodbye."
This goodbye was a real goodbye.
From now on, they would be separated by life and death, never to meet again.
Bella Acker’s eyes warmed, "Aunt Sienna, sleep well, Ethan and I will come to see you again. Ethan, let’s go."
"Okay." Ethan held her hand tightly, snuggling closely against her.
As the bodyguard outside waited with a black umbrella, Damian Sinclair gathered his suit, draping it over his arm, took the umbrella, and shielded the sky above Bella Acker’s head, blocking the light drizzle for her.
They walked down the mountain in silence, and the bodyguard quickly stepped forward to open the car door.
Damian Sinclair said, "You can head back on your own, no need to follow."
"Yes, Mr. Sinclair." The two bodyguards responded and stepped aside.
Damian Sinclair opened the front passenger car door and looked at Bella Acker.
Bella Acker actually wanted to take a cab back with Ethan. She hesitated before saying, "I’ll sit in the back with Ethan." With that, she opened the backseat car door herself.
Ethan, being very sensible, got into the car first, and Bella Acker followed.
Damian Sinclair didn’t insist, closed the umbrella, and got into the car.
The car started and slowly drove off into the fluttering rain.
Ethan woke up early today and had been following Bella Acker around without resting. He soon fell asleep leaning against Bella Acker.
Damian Sinclair saw this in the rearview mirror and adjusted the car’s air conditioning to a warmer temperature.
The warm temperature slowly thawed their cold bodies, making every pore gently exude a laziness that resisted movement.
Bella Acker gently patted Ethan’s back, and after a long time, she quietly said, "Damian, I’ve been pondering a question lately."
"What question?" Damian Sinclair asked, glancing at her through the rearview mirror.
"I’ve been wondering, if we hadn’t met each other so early... would it have been better." Bella Acker turned her gaze to the rain-swept window and softly said, "You have your life experiences, be it family, career, or love. I have my own joys and sorrows, would love and break up, and struggle for my own career. If we had gone through all this before meeting again, perhaps we wouldn’t have had those previous misunderstandings."
She met Damian when she was only fifteen, a bewildered teenage girl, her body not fully matured, yet she gradually fell in love with someone high above, radiant, and intense like the sun.
From the very start, her love began in humility, so she loved cautiously, loved anxiously, afraid to truly let loose, fearing even an inappropriate act of coquettishness might cause her to lose him completely.
Perhaps from that moment, her love was destined to be full of thorns and scars, not likely to yield any results.
Because in love, those who love should be evenly matched and stand on equal ground.
And Damian?
