Chapter 570: Chapter 569: Turning Hard and Falling Out

"This is a hospital. Even if she doesn’t like me, she wouldn’t make a scene here. Godmother, don’t worry." Bella Acker forced a smile and glanced at Aunt Sienna, who was still unconscious on the bed, before turning to leave the ward.

Although Mrs. Sinclair had left first, she hadn’t gone far and was waiting in the corridor. Seeing Bella come out, she walked towards the balcony at the end of the hallway, clutching her handbag.

Bella followed at a slow pace, and the two walked to the balcony at the end of the corridor.

Mrs. Sinclair turned to glare at Bella, "Did you push Cecilia down the stairs today?"

"I didn’t push her." Since Mrs. Sinclair disliked her so much, Bella didn’t want to lower herself to please her.

After all, even though her father had forced the young master of the Sinclair family to his death, the Sinclair family had done the same to her father.

Mrs. Sinclair frowned, "Cecilia said she was going to back off voluntarily and ask for your forgiveness, but unexpectedly, you suddenly pushed her down the stairs. Ms. Acker, you knew Cecilia was pregnant with Damian’s child, didn’t you consider the consequences of your actions? Do you think that if Cecilia lost her child, Damian would marry you and the Sinclair Family would accept you?"

"Mrs. Sinclair, you like Cecilia Lynch, so you believe and side with her; I have nothing to say about that. But something I didn’t do is something I didn’t do, no matter what you say, I won’t compromise." Bella’s face was tense as she said, "Also, I never intended to do anything to Cecilia’s baby, let alone harm her to marry Damian. You don’t need to think I’m that malicious and vile."

"It was just the two of you there at the time. If it wasn’t you who pushed her, did Cecilia push herself?" Mrs. Sinclair said coldly, "Ms. Acker, I never thought you would have such a glib tongue and such deep scheming and tactics, no wonder you can wrap Damian around your finger."

"You’re right, Cecilia did fall down the stairs herself." Bella said, "Mrs. Sinclair, if this wasn’t planned in advance, why do you think Damian just happened to appear at that moment?"

"Damian appeared because he knew Cecilia was over there and purposely drove to pick her up for lunch at the Sinclair’s," Mrs. Sinclair said. "What? Do you think it was all Cecilia’s plan? Ms. Acker, I’ve watched Cecilia grow up; her mind is as simple as can be. And she’s liked Damian for many years—I, as a mother, have seen it. But you, considering your social standing, if you weren’t scheming, you probably wouldn’t even get to meet Damian."

Bella frowned, "Mrs. Sinclair, you can dislike me, but please don’t insult me."

"Insult you?" Mrs. Sinclair sneered, "Ms. Acker, if not for Damian’s sake, just for attempting to harm my family’s descendants, I could have you jailed."

Mrs. Sinclair’s attitude suggested she didn’t know Damian hadn’t been involved with Cecilia sexually.

Bella thought for a moment and said, "Mrs. Sinclair, Cecilia invited me to tell me that nothing happened between her and Damian that night and that she’s not pregnant with Damian’s child. As for why she had a miscarriage after falling down the stairs, you could ask her doctor. Isn’t the Sinclair family very influential? If you ask, the doctor wouldn’t dare lie to you."

The last sentence was full of sarcasm.
