Chapter 557: Chapter 556: It Really Was Him

Bella walked into the doctor’s office.

Dr. Warren looked up and saw her, putting down his pen and said, "Ms. Acker, it’s you! Why haven’t you rested so late? Is there something wrong? Has the patient had another episode?"

"No, Aunt Sienna is already asleep." Bella stepped forward, hesitated for a moment, and asked, "Dr. Warren, have you increased Aunt Sienna’s medication dosage? What I mean is, I saw the nurse deliver medication to the ward, and besides what’s on my payment bill, there are additional meds. Can you tell me what they are?"

Dr. Warren was startled by her question, remained silent for a while before he said, "Ms. Acker, I’ve been instructed that I shouldn’t divulge this information. But these medications, once administered, can alleviate much of the patient’s suffering and also help extend her life. Rest assured, we are not recklessly prescribing them."

"I know you are responsible." Bella twisted her fingers twice, "Dr. Warren, can you simply tell me if the person who requested this is surnamed Jin? You don’t have to speak up, just nod or shake your head would be enough."

Dr. Warren looked at her, eventually sighed, and nodded.

Bella asked again, "Are those newly added medications very expensive?"

"They are the best imported medicines. Some aren’t even available at our hospital; someone specially delivered them." Since he had already started speaking, Dr. Warren decided to share a bit more.

"I understand. Thank you, Dr. Warren." Bella slightly nodded in gratitude before she left the doctor’s office.

Had it not been for overhearing the conversation between the two nurses on duty today, she might never have known about Aunt Sienna’s illness, how Damian had quietly arranged so much behind the scenes without saying a word to her, even when they met.

Apart from those expensive imported medications, there was also the special treatment by the hospital director and head specialist. Even the matter of hiring a caregiver was arranged by him in advance.

He went to great lengths to help her, not wanting her to feel guilty, even deliberately keeping it a secret.

It was the same before. Whether it was intentionally investing in "Brocade River and Mountain," getting her the role of Hera through the executive producer, or sending meals to the set every day via President Lloyd, or handling issues related to Jaden Lynch and Vivian Norris, he had never mentioned any of it to her, yet he was helping her with each matter.

It was as if whenever she turned around, he was always there supporting her from behind.

Whether in the past or now.

Bella lowered her gaze, knowing it would be insincere to say she wasn’t moved by these revelations, yet beyond the emotion, there was a more profound sense of bittersweet longing, a growing attachment and reluctance towards him.

"Why are you doing this? What do you want me to do?" Bella turned to close the ward door, her expression somewhat dazed.

"Bella, what do you mean what to do?" Aunt Sienna suddenly asked.

Bella froze and turned around, "Aunt Sienna, did I say that out loud?"

"Yes." Aunt Sienna sighed, "You seem distracted, what’s wrong?"

Bella remained silent for a moment before walking over to sit by her bedside, "I just overheard the nurses talking when I came back, only to learn that the imported medications you’ve been receiving over this period were arranged by Damian. Even Nanny Lloyd was sent by him."

Upon saying this, Bella lowered her gaze, her current mood very complicated.

Aunt Sienna looked at her and softly said, "Bella, fight for yourself a little more."
