Chapter 555: Chapter 554: Thankfully He Was There?
As Bella Acker’s assistant, Judy Zimmerman not only had the duty to take care of and protect her artist, but also truly regarded her as a friend.
Bella Acker felt a little guilty, "Piggy, I’m really sorry to call you so late to pick me up. I’ll just go up by myself in a bit, no need for you to come with me."
Seeing her insist, Judy Zimmerman could only nod, "Alright then, if anything comes up, call me. Don’t feel bad, taking care of you is my job. If you don’t let me do anything, Mr. Flynn and Ms. Young might fire me." The last sentence, of course, was a joke.
Bella Acker laughed, "Don’t worry, if I need your help, I definitely won’t be shy about asking."
The two chatted along the way, and before long they arrived at the entrance of the Second People’s Hospital. Bella Acker got out of the car with her bag, waving at the car window, "Piggy, be careful on your way back, see you tomorrow."
"Are you sure you don’t need me to go up with you?" Judy Zimmerman asked again.
"You have to pick me up to go to the film set early tomorrow, so go get some rest, goodnight." Bella Acker smiled and waved at her.
"Alright then, you get some rest too. I’ll bring breakfast for you in the morning."
Watching Judy Zimmerman drive off, Bella Acker finally walked into the hospital and headed towards the inpatient department.
"I heard the patient in bed 26’s condition worsened again?"
"Yeah, it was the director himself who rescued her this afternoon, otherwise, she wouldn’t have made it. Ah, well, she’s lucky to have such a good nephew-in-law, otherwise, she couldn’t afford such good medicine, and there’s no way she’d have survived until now."
"I heard even the caregiver was sent by them directly, and you can tell they’re professionally trained, they take care of the patient really thoroughly."
The two nurses on the night shift leaned at the nurse station, flipping through some patient files and chatting to stay awake.
Bella Acker had just stepped out of the elevator and around the corner when she heard their conversation.
Bed 26? Isn’t that Aunt Sienna?!
Bella Acker quickened her pace and softly asked, "Excuse me, did something happen to the patient in bed 26 this afternoon?"
Bella Acker had been staying in the hospital accompanying her, so even if the nurses on duty didn’t know her, they were at least familiar with her face.
"Didn’t you know?" One of the nurses asked in confusion, "I thought your godmother called you."
She had been drunk that afternoon and didn’t even know a call had come through.
Bella Acker quickly searched her phone’s contacts and sure enough, there was a call from Sharon Cheney, and it had been answered.
At that time, she was with Damian, so he must have been the one who answered the call.
She wasn’t sure what he told her godmother or why he hadn’t woken her up.
However, she had been drunk, and he probably couldn’t have woken her even if he tried.
Drinking was indeed a misstep. If Aunt Sienna had an issue this afternoon and she couldn’t rush back, she would regret it for life.
Bella Acker pressed her lips tightly, put her phone away, and asked again, "So how is the patient in bed 26 now? Is her condition stable?"
"Everything is stabilized now, she should be sleeping," the nurse replied.
"Thank you." Bella Acker expressed her gratitude and then tried to walk quietly and quickly to the ward.
She opened the door and walked in. Sharon Cheney was sitting by Aunt Sienna’s bed, talking to her.
Sharon Cheney’s voice was incredibly gentle, carrying a calmness that reminded one of scholarly fragrance, making it very comforting to hear in such a quiet night.
"Aunt Sienna, I’m sorry," Bella Acker apologized softly.
