Chapter 554: Chapter 553: Unattainable, Unable to Let Go
Hearing her ask so cautiously, Archer Quinn put down the script in his hand and couldn’t help wanting to tease her a bit.
With a smile, Archer said, "Bella, you did a lot of things when you were drunk. Which one are you referring to?"
"Did...did I do a lot?" Bella Acker opened her mouth in surprise. "Senior Quinn, stop messing around. Did I really do many strange things? Ah, how embarrassing. I have to go back to the crew to film, how can I face anyone?"
"Haha... Hahaha..." Archer Quinn’s laughter started as a suppressed chuckle and then turned into an open-hearted laugh.
Bella was stunned for a moment then finally responded, "Alright Senior Quinn, you’ve become mischievous, you actually tricked me!"
"Haha..." Archer finally stopped laughing and said softly, "Who can blame our little Bella for being a little dumb, it just makes one want to tease her."
Bella was speechless but also relieved, showing a hint of a smile, "Okay then, I’ll call Piggy, not talking to you."
"Alright. If Aunt Sienna is fine, you should rest early, you have filming tomorrow." Archer paused and then gently added, "Call me if you need anything."
"Okay, you rest early too, good night."
"Good night." Hanging up the phone, Archer turned to look at the boundless night outside the window, seeing his reflection in the floor-to-ceiling glass and couldn’t help but smile bitterly.
The script had been spread out in his hand all night, yet he hadn’t read a single word, his gaze constantly drifting to the phone placed beside him. Several times he almost couldn’t resist calling, but whenever he thought about her being with Damian Sinclair, he’d pick up the phone and put it down again.
He didn’t want her to be alone with Damian Sinclair, yet he wanted to fulfill her wish and let her be with him.
The conflicting, unwilling thoughts kept him from calming down, until Bella’s phone call came through, hearing her voice from the other side of the call, he understood that he too was selfish.
Others always said he was considerate and unassuming, but in reality, that’s only because there was nothing worth fussing about.
But it’s different now.
The girl who smiled like a flower under the sunlight, the one who inadvertently entered his heart, the girl he liked, he couldn’t bear to let her go.
Archer looked at his reflection on the glass, suddenly recalling a line he’d memorized while filming.
Life has eight hardships: birth, aging, sickness, death, separation from loved ones, long-held grievances, unfulfilled desires, and inability to let go.
Archer smiled bitterly, "Unfulfilled desires, inability to let go."
He used to think it was petty when others couldn’t let go of romances or loves, not expecting he would also have such a day.
Archer suppressed the smile on his lips, used the remote control to turn off the lights in the room, and looked deeply at the night outside the window.
On the other side, Bella called Judy Zimmerman, who drove back to deliver her bag and give her a ride to the hospital.
In the car, Judy said, "Bella, let me buy you some glucose, you drank quite a bit in the afternoon. Drinking glucose will make you feel better."
Bella’s head was still dizzy, but she was pretty much sober now.
"No need, it’s late, too much trouble," Bella said, "Just drop me at the hospital entrance."
"I’ll go up with you." Judy has been by Bella’s side for a while now, knowing she gets a bit worried when she’s drunk.
