Chapter 640: A Third Condition

"There’s another antidote?" Michael lost track of what Mr. York said after hearing this comment. He got up quickly from the bed and put on his shoes. He took his coat and car keys next to him and rushed out.

"Where’s the antidote? I will go there right now," Michael asked hurriedly.

"Yvonne Taylor refused to tell me where the antidote is. She said she wants you to get it from her personally." This was what Mr. York was trying to tell him earlier.

Michael slowed down unknowingly. But he didn’t have any choice now, so he replied, "I will go over now."

With that, he hung up and rushed out of the hospital ward. His leg injury had not fully recovered so he was limping as he walked. But there was no time to think about the pain in his leg. He didn’t realize that Jake was following closely behind. It was only when he was getting on the elevator that he saw Jake.

"Jake, what are you doing here?" Michael asked, surprised.

"I am coming with you," replied Jake seriously.

"It’s still early. Go back and sleep a little bit more. Daddy can handle this." Michael gently pushed Jake away.

Jake hadn’t been resting well for the past few days. There were already dark circles showing under his eyes.

"You are going to see Yvonne Taylor, am I right?" Jake had overheard Michael’s conversation with Mr. York. He didn’t know who was on the other line or what the person said. But he could roughly guess what was going on. freёwebnoѵel.com

Michael knew that Jake had always been worried for him. The only reason why Yvonne Taylor was still alive was because of his negligence.

Michael didn’t say anything else. He silently agreed for Jake to come along.

He got into the car and drove off. Very soon, they reached the training camp. Before they alighted, Jake spoke.

"Don’t let Yvonne Taylor string you along," Jake warned.

Michael understood what he meant by that. He had been sending out people to search for the antidote but to no avail. And Yvonne Taylor had always insisted that there was only one antidote. But now, she suddenly said there was still another one available. It was reasonable for Jake to suspect that she was lying.

Michael had his own doubts too, but he just couldn’t give up on any hope of finding another antidote. The poison was still in Jake’s body. Although Milo had assured him that he would do his best to come up with the cure, the wait was getting too torturous for him as the days went by.

If it weren’t the fact that something had happened to the two children at the same time, he would have gone to look for Wendy.

Michael originally planned to look for Wendy when the cure was out. He was determined to look for Wendy at all costs.

If Yvonne Taylor was really holding on to the antidote, it would be a weight off his shoulders. He would then be able to concentrate on looking for Wendy.

Otherwise, if something bad happened to Jake and Leah, Wendy, if she could be found, would blame him for not taking care of them.

Michael knew Wendy too well. She would always put the children first.

He nodded his head and muttered his agreement. Then, Michael and Jake alighted together.

It had been only a few days but Yvonne Taylor had been tortured beyond recognition. Her clothes were torn and she was covered in blood. The only difference was that she was not chained up.

Michael had ordered for her to be poisoned so that she would itch all over. The scratches all over her body were of her own doing. Even right now, she was squatting at a corner and scratching away.

...

Yvonne Taylor lifted her head when she heard footsteps approaching her. When she saw Michael, her eyes gleamed with hope.

She crawled to him and held onto the leg of his pants, pleading, "Antidote... give me the antidote now."

Michael gave her a hard kick. He stared at Yvonne, who was almost unrecognisable by now and asked, "Where is the antidote that I want?"

"I have it. I have another antidote," Yvonne nodded her head emphatically.

"Give me the antidote and I will give you the one that you need now," Michael said to her loftily. He continued, "Tell me now, where is the antidote?

"Do you think I’m dumb, Michael Lucas? If I give you the antidote now, will I still get to live?" Yvonne snickered and said weakly.

"Yvonne Taylor, why should I believe you?" Michael demanded. "I am not even sure if you really have the antidote with you. Perhaps you told a lie because of the unbearable itch?"

"When I said I have it, I meant it," Yvonne insisted. "Michael Lucas, my life may not mean much to you. But what about the lives of Jake and Leah? I don’t know which child you gave the antidote to but I am sure you must be struggling inside.

"And since you think I’m lying, what are you doing here? You are afraid. You are afraid that I am telling the truth, even if the possibility is low. If you don’t come today, you might miss the chance of getting the antidote. Then you are going to regret it for the rest of your life."

Yvonne was scratching while trying to keep her gaze on Michael, "Am I right, Mr.

Michael Lucas?"

What she said was true. Michael didn’t fully believe her. Yet, he couldn’t risk not coming. This concerned Jake’s life and death. Even though he knew she might be lying, Michael had to come.

"It’s fine if you don’t want to give me the antidote. We shall all die together then."

Yvonne laughed as she continued, "But if I am dead, you will never be able to find another antidote to save your child. I won’t be alone in death."

She suddenly stood up and knocked her head against the wall. The impact was so great that she almost fainted.

Michael commanded the bodyguard that was nearby, "Stop her!"

Yvonne was itching and in tremendous pain. This knock against the wall hurt, but it was nothing compared to the torture she was experiencing.

She knew she had hope when she heard Michael’s instruction to the bodyguard. With the bodyguard restraining her, she laughed and said, "Looks like Mr. Lucas has decided to believe me."

Michael still didn’t trust her. But he was unwilling to gamble with Jake’s life.

He gave her a cold stare and ordered, "Give her the antidote first."

The doctor immediately nodded in agreement. He gave the pill to Yvonne. She swallowed it hurriedly. Very soon, the itch on her body disappeared.

The moment the itch disappeared, she could feel the pain all over her body more acutely.

"Give me painkillers!" The pain caused her body and even her voice to shake.

But Michael rejected her. "You are asking for too much."

"So are you going to give it to me or not?" Yvonne clenched her jaws and hissed, trying to control the pain.

Once again, without much choice, Michael ordered with his eyes closed, "Give it to her."

Yvonne snatched over the painkillers and swallowed them.

...

Michael noticed the shaking of Yvonne’s body had gradually stopped. So he demanded sternly, "Can you tell me where the antidote is now? Otherwise don’t blame me for being nasty!" ƒreewebɳovel.com

"Oh please. Don’t try to be nice to me at all. The best you can do is to kick me until I die," Yvonne replied as she swallowed her saliva. Now that the itch was gone and the painkillers were working, she felt like she was reborn. She smiled sarcastically, "Anyway, I am the only one with the antidote. If I die, you can only watch your child die along with me."

"Yvonne! You better talk properly to me. Just because you claim to have another antidote doesn’t mean you can push your limits!" Michael warned her in a tense voice.

"You understand me so well. Precisely because I have the antidote, I can be so arrogant." Yvonne’s smile turned into a crazy laugh. "If you don’t like it, you can feel free to kill me."

Michael had been clenching and unclenching his fists, trying to calm himself down and keep his anger in check.

He told himself repeatedly to just bear with this no matter what.

Once he got the antidote, he would take his revenge on Yvonne.

"Hey, are you boiling mad with me yet don’t dare to do anything to me?" Yvonne obviously had seen through his thoughts.

"What exactly do you want from giving me the antidote?" Michael felt that his patience was running out. "Surely you didn’t ask me here to tell me all this nonsense."

"Oh Michael boy, I asked you here because I love you so much that I needed to see you again," her voice suddenly turned serious yet pitiful. "If I didn’t mention the antidote, would you come and see me?"

"So you are lying!" Michael reacted by kicking her in the body.

The impact of the kick was so great that she rolled back a distance. With her head lowered, she spat out the blood in her mouth.

Since Michael’s leg injury had not fully recovered, he almost lost his balance and fell over from the kick.

Yvonne looked up to see the angry look on Michael’s face. She knew he had hit his limits.

So quickly, she tried to explain, "I really do have the antidote. But I have a condition..."

Michael regained his balance and stood there, waiting for her to continue.

"Give me the medical attention that I need and let me go, and..." Yvonne’s gaze roamed all over Michael.

"I can agree to these two conditions. As long as you really have that antidote, I can even give you a sum of money and ensure that you will never be in need for the rest of your life." Michael clenched his fist and continue in a threatening manner, "But if you are lying to me, you are going to pay a price so great that you will regret this moment."

"But Michael boy, I have a third condition." Yvonne knew that Michael purposely overlooked what she wanted to say. But it was okay. She continued, "I want you to sleep with me for a night."

Michael knew that the third condition was going to be outrageous so he didn’t allow her to continue.

Only a disgusting person like Yvonne could think of such a condition.

"Yvonne, do you think there is any purpose to this kind of condition?" Michael’s tone was filled with disgust and despise. "I don’t love you. In fact, I hate you to the bones."

"Yes of course." Yvonne blinked her eyes and sounded hopeful. "You don’t love me but I love you.

All my thoughts have been filled with you all these years. You are the only man I love.

I knew you wouldn’t like me so there is no way you will sleep with me. I had to find my own ways to make you do it.

Now that I have such a good opportunity, if I don’t make use of it now, I will never get a chance to make you mine."
