Chapter 145: He must be very handsome if you are still with him, no?

"You are a Demon of Desire, what are you making that face for? Are you perhaps shy?"

She asked and Lucian—

"Yes."

He wiped his fake tears.

"You may not see it, but I am very shy~

I can’t even talk to women. It’s hard, they are intimidating~"

Vivienne only stared at him and Lucian’s smile faded again.

"So it’s really just that? I only need to channel demonic energy into my mouth, say those words, the terms, and then seal the contract?"

"Yes."

Vivienne nodded.

"Sounds easy enough."

"It comes naturally to demons. It shouldn’t be any different for you."

Lucian looked at her.

He couldn’t help but notice the word shouldn’t Vivienne used.

For now, however, he had another question.

"But why during intercourse? Is that necessary? Not that I mind, it sounds strangely romantic, I am merely curious."

"I do not know."

Vivienne shook her head.

"It could be necessary, or maybe it is something the demons of desire use to force their terms on the target."

"I can see that happening."

Lucian nodded at those words.

"Inject enough demonic energy into the target’s body, overwhelm them with pleasure, put them in a state where their minds do not reject anything that’s happening to them, and by the time they recover, they are already enslaved."

He could see how easy and convenient it was to take advantage of one’s moment of weakness, a moment they induced through supernatural means.

They truly are demons, huh...

Lucian thought inwardly. Vivienne only nodded at his words, not saying anything else. Lucian looked at her for a moment, then—

"Lady Vivienne."

He grinned.

"What?"

Vivienne looked at him.

"I have till morning to return."

Lucian grinned.

"And?"

"The thing you said before..."

"What?"

"About my body being able to do what it was meant to do."

Vivienne’s face changed at those words. Lucian’s eyes shone greedily.

"Please teach me, Lady Vivienne."

He requested.

"Please teach me how to fight like demons."

He requested as his mind recalled how that bastard lifted his mother in the air without touching her, or how Vaelrith ripped his surroundings apart in order to get to him.

And as Lucian thought about it all, the shine in his eyes intensified.

Could... he do that as well...?

How fun would it be to kill that bastard the same way he killed his mother...? Just... much more agonisingly.

"What do you intend to learn in a few hours?"

Vivienne questioned directly and Lucian—

"Anything I can."

He answered with a strong shine in his eyes and Vivienne—

She looked at him for a slight moment, at the hunger in his eyes, at his desire to get stronger, at the cruel glint in his eyes that made her realise he was thinking about that demon, and she nodded.

"I will teach you the gist of everything. You keep training as your mission continues."

It was something she would never normally offer since she liked to keep track of her students’ progress.

Lucian, however, was different.

He no longer needed to come here, especially since he now had that singer with him.

And Vivienne—

She did not like that someone of his potential was wasting his time on a mission while he could get even stronger than what he was right now.

So she made an exception.

She would teach Lucian some basics, so he could later improve himself and she—

"You are to return here every week to show me how much you have improved, and if your results are not satisfactory, I will kill you myself."

"Yes."

Lucian only smiled at those words.

That alone was more than enough to show how far gone he was.

Though Vivienne would not like him in any other way.

And since she liked him the way he was—

She began torturing him.

Again.

...

The next morning, Lucian returned to Evelyn’s residence. After the concert, Evelyn had no major schedule for the day. Clara had cleared everything except basic recovery time, optional light movement inside the residence, and a possible guarded move outside to clear Evelyn’s mind.

For once, the day belonged to Evelyn, where she could do whatever she wanted.

Lucian walked through the hallway toward Evelyn’s room, entering without knocking.

Inside, Evelyn was sitting on the bed with a blanket over her legs. She turned when Lucian walked in. For a moment, she smiled, but as if she remembered something, she pouted, showing she was angry.

"You are awake."

Lucian commented.

"I did not sleep well because someone decided it was a good idea to leave a tired me behind."

Evelyn kept her pout.

Lucian smiled at those words.

"That someone sounds very irresponsible."

"He is."

Evelyn snorted.

"He must be very handsome if you are still with him, no?"

"That’s his only redeeming quality."

Evelyn’s mouth twitched.

"Hmm, that can’t be true. He must be very charming too. Looks alone aren’t enough."

Evelyn only stared at him, clearly not pleased.

Lucian smiled as he walked closer. Evelyn did not wait for him to reach the bed, she directly lifted her arms. Lucian’s smile softened. He sat on the edge and pulled her into his arms.

Evelyn leaned into him immediately, placing her face on his chest as her hands curled around his shirt. For a while, they didn’t say anything. Lucian listened to her heartbeat as he gently touched her body.

Evelyn smiled at that touch and closed her eyes, enjoying every moment of it. Then, once she had enough Vitamin Lucian to be able to function, she opened her eyes and—

"Did your talk with your teacher go well?"

She asked in a soft voice and Lucian—

Instead of answering, he stood up. Evelyn’s expression changed when she sensed him move, her fingers tightening around his sleeve.

"I won’t ask anymo—"

"I am not leaving."

Lucian spoke gently as he placed his hand on top of hers. She stared at him for a second, then slowly let go.
