"A Binding Contract?"
Lucian frowned.
"Yes."
"I can... do that?"
Lucian blinked.
He knew what Binding Contracts were.
There were two types of Demonic Contracts.
A Bargain Contract
This is the most basic form of demonic contract. All terms are established before the contract is finalised with blood, making it a simple exchange of obligations—I give you this, you give me that.
These are widely used and can even be distributed to others. Many supernatural beings actively seek out demons to obtain them, then employ the contracts in negotiations or business dealings, ensuring that no party can go back on their word once the contract has been signed.
The second one, however, was more personal.
A Binding Contract
This is the contract demons use to bind other living beings to themselves, most commonly to enslave them. Unlike Bargain Contracts, Binding Contracts cannot be distributed—only the demon who creates the contract can invoke and maintain it and even demons use them sparingly, as each Binding Contract consumes a fragment of the creator’s soul.
As a result, every demon has a limited number of Binding Contracts they can create. Once that limit is reached, they cannot bind another being unless one of their existing bound targets dies or they actively take damage on their soul to bind one, which demons almost never do.
And Lucian—
He had no idea that he could create a Binding Contract.
At his surprise, Vivienne only stared at him with a deadpan look on her face.
"You are a demon, of course you can do that."
"I am a human with Incubus blood."
"I’ve told you this before, Lucian."
Vivienne spoke in strict terms.
"What those machines say does not matter. You have Incubus Blood, your body functions like a complete Incubus, that means you are an Incubus.
Do not limit yourself thinking you are a Human.
Accept what you are."
Lucian nodded silently at those words, accepting them.
Vivienne stared at him for a moment, then she nodded.
"You can form a contract.
There are many more things you can do, things I did not teach you before because the Blank Demonic Energy you used wasn’t efficient enough.
But now that you are using true Energy of Desire—"
Vivienne stepped closer to him, looking at him as if he was the most interesting thing she had seen in a long while.
"Your body can do what it was meant to do."
The shine in Lucian’s eyes intensified at those words.
But then—
He shook his head.
"I won’t enslave her."
"I never told you to enslave her. The Binding Contract is primarily used for Enslavement, but it is still a Contract, you can decide your terms if you want to."
Vivienne answered but Lucian...
He still felt uncomfortable.
He had read about Contracts, he knew how Binding Contracts worked.
If he made one with Evelyn, no matter what terms there were, the Contract would mark her as bonded, she would have his sign and that would link them permanently, pulling her deeper into the supernatural world.
Lucian wanted to avoid that.
He did not wish to put her life at risk because of him but—
"She is already a part of this world, Lucian."
Vivienne spoke as she looked at him with eyes that seemed like they were looking into his mind. At this point, Lucian wasn’t even surprised that she knew what was troubling him, he only listened to her.
"She was kidnapped by a demonic operation, prepared for conditioning, attacked by Hosts, chased by werewolves, healed by an Enclave medic.
And none of this would stop.
If you think capturing Orpheus would put an end to this, you are wrong.
Orpheus is only a pawn, Vaelrith, who stands behind him, will simply choose another Orpheus, then another, then another.
If you somehow manage to kill Vaelrith, another Demon of Desire would set his eyes on her eventually.
Evelyn can never not be part of this world, not when she has the ability to gather Energy of Desire in the quantity you mentioned just from a single concert."
Lucian’s face turned solemn. He clenched his fists in frustration and Vivienne—
"So be selfish, Lucian."
She spoke, her words made Lucian frown and she continued.
"Use your close relationship to sign a Binding Contract with her, make her yours. Link yourself to her so that the ocean of Energy of Desire she gathers can be useful to you. Take what Vaelrith so desperately desires for yourself."
Lucian thought about those words for a good while.
He thought about what he would be pulling Evelyn into, he thought about how dangerous it all was, but at the same time, he also realised Vaelrith wasn’t going to give up.
And...
If he actually did form a Binding Contract, then he...
He would have the reason to be with Evelyn forever, without having to worry about pulling her into the supernatural world.
And that...
That was especially liberating.
The thought of leaving Evelyn after the mission was over had been chewing him from inside all this while, he did not want it but for her safety, he was willing to suppress the intense feelings he had developed for her.

If him leaving her won’t keep her away from this world, if she was going to become part of this world anyways—

Once the contract begins to form, state your terms, and if your target accepts those conditions, when the terms have been accepted, seal the contract by declaring:

Once you seal the contract, Evelyn will be bound to you till the day you or she perishes."
Vivienne explained without any change in her expression.

Lucian raised an eyebrow, Vivienne however, only stared at him.
"You are a Demon of Desire, what are you making that face for? Are you perhaps shy?"
She asked and Lucian—
"Yes."
He wiped his fake tears.
"You may not see it, but I am very shy~
I can’t even talk to women. It’s hard, they are intimidating~"
