Evelyn screamed again, Lucian gently ruffled her hair, then, once she was silent—

Lucian spoke before shutting the comm off.
Then, he looked at the ground getting close to them at a dangerous speed. They were free falling, and they were free falling fast.
The last thing he did in the air was press Evelyn’s nerve points, disabling her arms for a second, her grip around him loosened.
"L-Luci—AAAAHHHHHh!!"
She screamed his name in fear, but before she could even complete it, Lucian threw her in the air, then—

She was too horrified to speak.
She only tightened her hug around him as tears welled up at the corner of her eyes.
"Evelyn."
That was when Lucian called out in a weaker voice than normal.
Evelyn looked at him and he, without looking back—

He requested and her eyes turned even more moist. Still, she nodded with a brave look on her face, Lucian continued moving with broken legs, that, on top of being broken, were taking the abuse he was putting them through.
In a few seconds, Lucian was standing in front of a Wall.
This was the ’dead end’ Sarah mentioned.
Lucian placed his hand on it, feeling its surface, Evelyn frowned at that.
Was he resting...?
She wondered.
And for a moment, she was glad. She knew better than anyone that he needed rest but then—
Lucian moved his hand away, his demonic energy moved to his hand and he—

A deep crack spread from his palm, throughout the wall, then, the entire section folded, breaking into small chunks.

Evelyn stared at the scene in fright.
That was a concrete wall!
A wall that had stood for she didn’t know how long!
It wasn’t supposed to fall like this!
Lucian, however, did not care about her reaction, not right now, he only looked around, remembering everything he saw when he was in the air.
His legs had already healed enough for him to keep moving without much trouble at this point, so with Evelyn still in his arms, he moved, this time, a little slower than normal.
Evelyn was surprised by that too.
She had no idea how the man who was stumbling just a few moments ago was moving like this. After about a minute, they reached another wall, Lucian destroyed that too.
Linking the road to the maintenance road he saw, then, he moved again, appearing in front of the last wall and once he destroyed that—
The maintenance road was now linked to a clean, clear residential road.

After about five more minutes, by the time Lucian’s legs were completely healed, Car Two, that moved through the path Lucian created, stopped in front of them.

Sarah asked as the car door flew open.
"Roadwork."
Lucian only smiled lightly as he placed Evelyn inside. Evelyn did not let go of his sleeve immediately, her face was still pale, her eyes were fixed on his legs—
"Lucian..."
She called out with a worried look on her face.
Lucian only smiled at her as he stepped back—
"I’ll be back soon."
He spoke in the gentlest tone.
"Huh? Where are you going?"
Sarah asked.
"Cross, you are supposed to stay with her."
Elise spoke with a strict look on her face.
Lucian looked at her, then at the road ahead and—
"The road ahead is clear, just move as fast as you can and you will reach home in about 30 minutes. I have some other things to do."
"Have you lost your mind!? What other things!?"
Sarah snapped, Lucian however, only looked at her as his smile disappeared.
"Move."
He ordered.
Sarah wanted to say something, but before she could, Lucian turned towards Reed driving the car and—

He spoke, his violet eyes shone dangerously and Reed, he didn’t know why he listened to him, he moved.
Evelyn twisted in her seat, staring through the back glass as the car pulled away.
