Chapter 710: Why Are Your Ears So Red Too?
She vaguely heard that one word, Yiyi, called out from the man’s mouth.
"Are you okay?" His arm securely wrapped around her waist, asking her if she was alright.
Sheng Yi felt a slight warmth in her ears, shook her head, and said: "...No."
Many people called her Yiyi: her parents, Yuanyuan, Liu Ru, her close friends and relatives, even her fans.
Now, there was one more person.
And she actually felt that when he called her ’Yiyi,’ it sounded better than when anyone else did.
Even though she didn’t know why he suddenly changed the way he addressed her, Sheng Yi thought, it made everything feel much closer.
Otherwise, Miss Sheng Yi, word by word, felt too distant.
At this moment, Sheng Yi was still slightly stunned.
In this position, she held a glass cup in her hands, both arms bent, pressing against his broad chest. The arm around her waist was tight and strong, and...his palm at that instant wasn’t gentlemanly balled into a fist.
His palm opened, resting on the other side of her waist.
The warmth of his palm was normal.
But for Sheng Yi, even though there was a layer of clothing in between, she felt as if the part of her waist covered by his palm was burning intensely.
Her heartbeat quickened, pounding uncontrollably fast.
She tried hard to regulate her heartbeat, finally tilting her head up to look at him. The slight touch of their noses made her whole body tingle and stiffen with her upward movement.
He was bowing his head.
And as she raised her head, their noses touched together, as if unintentionally. She couldn’t describe it, her lips slightly parted, staring dumbly at the face so close to hers.
Her heart raced even faster.
Even on the night when the accident happened, when she shamelessly asked him to stay overnight, lying together in bed, she hadn’t depicted his handsome features this closely. His facial features magnified before her, delicately carved like a masterpiece, with a high, straight nose, thin lips pressed in a slight arc, a smooth jawline that made Sheng Yi want to lift a hand to cradle his face, to study it more closely.
"Why is your heart beating so fast?"
The thin lips before her opened and closed, saying something that made Sheng Yi’s face flush even more.
His voice was low, not deep; if something were to describe it, it would be like a cup of sake—just a taste would capture your mind, embedded within, leaving a lasting impression.
"No, it’s not beating fast." She didn’t dare to admit.
"But why do I hear something different from what Yiyi says?" his voice dropped lower, as his broad palm covering her waist side gently kneaded, as if he could easily break her slender waist with just a bit of force.
Sheng Yi didn’t dare look at him anymore.
Feeling the rubbing at her waist, her whole being seemed ready to melt.
"Is something uncomfortable? If something is uncomfortable, you can tell me."
His face lowered a bit more, the distance between them too close.
So close that their lips seemed about to touch, but Sheng Yi knew that if she lowered her head, they wouldn’t. Instead, she chose to tilt her head back, while his jaw pressed down again, but not colliding like before, instead grazing past her cheek.
The smooth line of his jaw brushed against Sheng Yi’s earlobe.
The faint breath on the side of her neck was his, very close, very clear. Her nose caught a mature male scent mixed with a hint of alcohol, light and not strong. Smelling his scent made Sheng Yi’s cheeks warm, her heart stirred, as the ear that his side face brushed turned red from the auricle down to the earlobe.
"Why is your ear so red too?"
The low voice lingered beside her ear, tickling, tingling, making her feel weak and unable to stand, muttering softly: "Loosen up, loosen up."
"Loosen what?" He seemed not to understand.
Instead, the arm encircling her waist, tightened its grip once again.
She couldn’t move, wanting to escape this embrace.
But the man’s arm wrapped around her waist was like a shackle, preventing her from breaking free; all she could do was softly tell him to loosen his hand.
But the man didn’t understand her meaning.
What had touched her earlobe before was his jaw, but now, next to her earlobe was the man’s thin lips, barely touching, with breaths sprinkled behind her sensitive ear, it was truly overwhelming...
