Chapter 709: Why Are Your Ears So Red?
"Yiyi."
The familiar voice, is it Dao An?
But Dao An has always been rigid and courteous, only ever calling her Miss Sheng Yi.
"Yiyi."
The man called Sheng Yi again, then squatted down and extended his hand.
As his hand touched Sheng Yi’s shoulder, her response was particularly strong, she suddenly pushed him away: "Go away! Go away! Why... why the more I don’t want to see you, the more you appear in front of me, how are you so persistent..."
The man, although pushed by her, didn’t sit down, just inclined his shoulder slightly backward.
She shivered and screamed, her throat almost breaking from the cry.
Her hair was a mess, tears covered her face, and her rabbit-like eyes turned red, looking at the man in front of her with great dislike.
Initially, her tearful eyes blurred the view, she couldn’t clearly see the face of the person opposite her, and when her vision finally became clear, and she saw clearly who the person in front of her was, Sheng Yi’s small face no longer had any trace of anger.
She was completely stunned!
Her mouth slightly opened, opening and closing, she looked dazed at the man squatting in front of her for a long time, until he reached out both hands, palms held on either side of her shoulders, silently applying force to pull her up from the ground.
Sheng Yi made no reaction of resistance.
She didn’t cry or shout, she was all quiet, obediently being lifted off the ground by him.
Suddenly, her cheek pressed against his chest, through a layer of textured material.
His arm crossed around her waist, loosely encircling her, Sheng Yi instinctively wanted to raise her hand to grab the fabric at his waist, but eventually raised it and let it fall again... she didn’t dare.
...
Dao An, being unexpected, came in to see such a scene.
She pitifully and helplessly curled up in the corner, hugging her knees, burying her head without moving, making no sound at all, yet silently tearing, her tears quickly wetting a large sleeve, shoulders lightly twitching, but she herself utterly unaware, her entire being in a state of immense fear.
He approached, she still had no reaction, her head buried in refusal to look up to see who it was. His chest ached painfully, remembering the voice from the receiver earlier that couldn’t help but worry him, that sharp cry followed by chaotic sounds, and then completely no sound, leaving his heart hanging.
...
A few minutes later, the man walked back into the bedroom.
He held a glass of warm water, handing it to her: "The temperature’s right, it’s not hot."
Sheng Yi took it, politely said to him: "Thank you."
The man lowered his gaze to her small face, responded emotionlessly: "You’re welcome."
He inserted one hand into his pants pocket, watched her drink half the glass of warm water.
Drinking, Sheng Yi drank somewhat quickly, not truly thirsty, just a bit uneasy.
She could feel the gaze cast down over her head, presumably watching her. Regarding her earlier behavior, Sheng Yi naturally felt quite embarrassed, she had really thought it was Qin Bing, frightened and enraged, so when his hand touched her, she suddenly emotionally lost control and hysterically yelled at him, pushed him away.
She only saw it was Dao An after yelling.
Randomly yelled at him, not knowing if he’s angry...
Glug-glug, gulping down the water in the glass, after finishing, she instinctively wanted to hand the glass to him. She extended her hand a bit, but the man didn’t intend to take the glass.
Sheng Yi slightly embarrassed, treating him as what.
She hastily retracted her hand, then got up to place the glass.
The man standing in front of her did not retreat to give way, and with Sheng Yi standing up, she was almost about to be stuck to him. But she couldn’t avoid coming into contact with him, yet didn’t want to let Dao An feel she was being casual again, as if purposely always wanting to pounce into his arms, so she controlled the direction of her shaking body, tilted back.
The most was just falling back into sitting.
But the posture of sitting back down was a bit awkward, but it was better than seeming ’intentional’ to pounce into his arms.
Unexpectedly, the man reached out to hold her small forearm at this moment, followed by a forceful pull forward, his arm crossed around her waist, clasped her into his embrace inevitably.
"Ah—" she exclaimed softly.
"Yiyi."
