Chapter 967: Chapter 994: Did You Miss Me? (5)
Koa Jackson temporarily stayed in the car, quietly watching her.
Slowly, a gentle curve appeared on his lips, unbelievably soft as he gazed at her, as if looking at a unique treasure in this world, with tenderness overflowing in his eyes and brows.
Mia Ginger groggily woke up, meeting his eyes.
Startled, she hesitated, saying, "What time is it?"
"It’s past nine," Koa Jackson replied with a soft laugh, "Seeing you sleep so soundly, I didn’t wake you."
"Huh?" Mia Ginger felt somewhat embarrassed, sitting up, "You can continue to sleep at home, haven’t you eaten yet?"
"I’m not hungry either," Koa said as he got out of the car and walked over to the passenger side.
Mia Ginger unfastened her seatbelt, opened the door, and naturally clung to his arm, leaning on him as they walked into the house.
Just arriving in the living room, they heard a gentle coaxing voice.
"Why hasn’t Jax slept yet?"
"Brother!"
As soon as he spoke, Jax Jackson, standing dazed in front of the coffee table, ran over with small steps, hugging his leg.
Mia Ginger: "..."
Not having seen Jax Jackson for over half a year, Mia appeared slightly dazed.
At this moment, Chancellor paced over to her, looking up and meeting her gaze with his big eyes.
Mia Ginger bent down to rub his head, "Long time no see."
Chancellor took a step, rubbing his body against her leg, showing an incredibly gentle demeanor.
Koa Jackson held Jax’s hand, walking into the room, as Aunt Lee, just finished with her tasks, greeted them, "This little one said he’d sleep only after waiting for you to come back. Didn’t eat dinner properly, kept waiting."
After she spoke, she smiled at Mia Ginger, "Mia won’t be leaving again this time, right?"
"Not leaving," Mia Ginger replied joyfully.
Aunt Lee nodded and continued, "Koa said he was working overtime, seems you haven’t eaten dinner either, right? I just looked at the time and prepared some late-night snacks, want some?"
"Hmm," Koa instructed, "Don’t prepare too much."
"Understood."
Aunt Lee turned and left with a smile.
Koa Jackson led Jax to the sofa, glanced at Uncle Lewis who was tidying up the blocks, and calmly spoke, "Leave them there, he’ll want to play tomorrow when he wakes up. It’s late, everyone should rest early."
"They were taken out but not really played with, only fiddled with when he was feeling upset," Uncle Lewis sighed, preparing to talk to Mia Ginger when he heard her exclaim, "Oh, my suitcase is still in the back of the car, I forgot to take it out."
"No worries," Uncle Lewis looked at her, smiling warmly, "I’ll get it."
"Thank you," Mia Ginger replied without pretense, "The keys are on the cabinet by the entryway, the luggage is in the trunk, I’m too tired after a long day."
"Rest on the sofa, I’ll go," Uncle Lewis spoke and walked out.
Mia Ginger rubbed Chancellor’s head again, and settled onto the sofa.
Jax Jackson leaned on Koa’s leg, big eyes staring at her for a while, then grinned innocently.
"Call her sister?" Mia Ginger tried to ask.
Jax pouted, tilting his little head, looking curiously at Koa.
Koa touched his head, chuckling softly, "This is your sister."
"Hmm," Jax whimpered, burrowing into Koa’s embrace, looking both shy and timid.
Mia Ginger felt a bit helpless, sighing, "What did the doctor say?"
"Some impact on intelligence."
"Is there no way?"
"The high fever damaged the brain nerves," Koa glanced at her, speaking softly, "It’s not a big deal, don’t worry about it now, let’s eat."
