Chapter 966: Chapter 993: Did You Miss Me? (4)

"Of course, it’s mainly our class," Mia Ginger said with a smile. "Our dorm mate Mina Lee became an entertainment reporter. She started it, and I bet there will be classmates from other classes too, since it’s a reunion. Whoever’s free can go."

On Camden River’s end, there was a brief pause before he casually said, "Got it. Send me the time and place then. I’ll bring the gift along, so I won’t have to look specifically for you."

"It’s a deal then."

"Yeah."

Mia Ginger hung up the phone, letting out a sigh and put away her phone.

Just after six, she picked up her car. The road was a bit congested, and it took over an hour to reach the Fourth Hospital, right as Koa Jackson finished work.

Mia Ginger was exhausted, so she handed over driving duties to him.

Koa Jackson drove onto the main road, glanced at the rearview mirror, and smiled, "Went shopping?"

"Just bought a few clothes."

"With your mom?"

"Just me." After answering, Mia Ginger suddenly remembered Aurora Cooper’s words and said, "My mom said to visit Grandpa tomorrow morning. Do you think that’s okay? Are you working tomorrow?"

"Tomorrow?" Koa Jackson thought for a moment, "Saturday, right? We’ll take Jax to visit together. I’m working tomorrow."

"But I have a class reunion the night after tomorrow." Mia Ginger looked at him.

"Class reunion?" Koa Jackson slowed his driving a bit, pondering as he spoke, "The reunion doesn’t clash with this. You’re not good with alcohol, so just be careful not to drink at the gathering. We can return before lunch."

"True, alright then." Mia Ginger nodded, agreeing.

It was evening rush hour, and the road was quite jammed.

After driving for a while, Mia Ginger got sleepy, leaned back in her seat for a nap, and upon waking, she found they were still quite far from home. Feeling a bit frustrated, she covered her mouth to yawn and snuggled back into her seat but couldn’t fall back asleep.

Thinking about the afternoon meeting with Windsor Myres, she pondered and asked Koa Jackson, "Brother Jackson, do you think it’s easier for two completely different people to develop feelings or for two similar people to do so?"

Koa Jackson was taken aback, "That’s too broad of a question to answer."

"I mean Windsor Myres and Camden River," Mia Ginger bluntly said, "Looking from a man’s perspective, do you think they have a chance?"

Koa Jackson chuckled, "Guessing that kind of thing isn’t very meaningful."

Mia Ginger: "..."

Alright, she’d forgotten. Koa Jackson is a topic terminator, not much of a conversationalist.

Mia Ginger lowered her seat a bit, placed her hands against her ears, and stared at the side of his face, dazing off.

Koa Jackson noticed her gaze after a while, and his stern expression softened considerably. In a gentle tone, he said, "Love is easy, marriage is hard. Love involves two people, but building a family affects two sets of relatives. Two individuals with different personalities and interests might attract each other when they first meet, but as the passion fades, they can easily part ways. Love is about collision, marriage is about compromise. Based on what you’ve said before, both of them have strong personalities; the possibility of them entering marriage isn’t high."

"You really think so?" Mia Ginger suddenly sat up and looked at him.

"Didn’t you ask for my opinion?"

Mia Ginger responded with an "Mm," thoughtful and silent, saying nothing more.

——

They drove for over an hour.

At nine in the evening, they finally arrived home.

Koa Jackson parked, turned to check the front passenger seat where Mia Ginger was; she’d fallen asleep.

Along the way, she’d reclined the seat, curled up on the side, her hands tucked under her cheeks, her eyes closed. She looked as peaceful as could be, remarkably well-behaved.
