Chapter 963: Chapter 990: Did You Miss Me? (1)
She could imagine Mina Lee making faces on the other end of the phone.
Standing by the street, she couldn’t help but laugh.
Mina Lee heard her laugh and knew she must be in a good mood, so she changed the subject and casually asked, "Since you’re back, what about Camden River? He should be back soon too, right?"
"His flight should land the morning after tomorrow."
"Ah." Mina Lee suddenly chuckled, "Then you should bring him along. Most classmates know him anyway, and since we’ll basically all be in the same circle, it would be nice to gather together."
"..." Mia Ginger paused, "I’ll ask him later."
"Alright, I’ll leave it to you," Mina Lee agreed jovially.
Mia chatted with her for a couple more minutes, laughed, and hung up. Checking the time, it was nearly five o’clock, so she texted Koa Jackson, "Shopping delayed me a bit, I might arrive around six."
Koa Jackson quickly responded, "Come by around seven-thirty, I’m not back at the hospital yet."
Seven-thirty?
Mia thought for a moment and replied, "Alright then."
With the time pressure off, she stood by the road, hesitated for a while, and decided to rest at the tea restaurant across the street.
The sun wasn’t as intense as at noon, yet there wasn’t a hint of breeze outside, still quite hot.
Mia entered the restaurant and sighed in relief. A female server in uniform approached briskly, smiling at her, "Welcome, how many people?"
"Just me, is there space on the second floor?"
"Yes, please follow me." The server showed a gentle smile, wearing black high heels as she led Mia upstairs, after checking, she arranged a quiet spot by the window.
Mia wasn’t particularly hungry, she ordered a cup of lemon black tea to pass the time.
Feeling bored, she heard rhythmic high-heeled footsteps approaching and instinctively looked over.
Windsor Myres sat on the sofa opposite her.
Mia paused, smiled, and said, "What a coincidence, what brings you here?"
Before Windsor could speak, the server returned, politely standing beside her and asking, "Miss, would you like to order anything?"
"Whatever."
The server: "..."
Feeling awkward, the server stood beside her, unsure whether to leave or stay.
Windsor glanced up at her, thought briefly, and said, "I’ll have the same as her."
"Okay, please wait a moment." The server sighed in relief and walked away quickly.
Mia thought for a moment, glanced around, and hesitantly asked her, "Is this your mom’s restaurant?"
She noticed Windsor’s attire: a light fabric bodycon dress underneath, paired with a white, thin, mid-sleeve little blazer, looking slightly formal.
Especially since she had done her makeup rather neatly.
The server soon brought over two cups of black tea. Windsor twirled the straw with one hand and asked her, "When did you get back?"
"Yesterday," Mia smiled.
"What about Camden River?" Windsor asked again.
Mia bit her straw, glanced at her, paused drinking, and answered, "His flight arrives the morning after tomorrow."
Windsor acknowledged with an "Oh."
Mia pursed her lips, gauged her expression, smiled, and said, "I just got off the phone with Mina Lee. There’s a class reunion at Vermilion Club the night after tomorrow. She suggested I bring Camden River too, what do you think? She seems even more lively than before, definitely suited for entertainment news."
Windsor chuckled, bowing her head slightly, "I know, she just called me too."
"Hmm?" Mia inquired inquisitively.
