Chapter 953: Chapter 980: Mia Ginger’s Return (6)
Mia Ginger smiled, pressed her lips together, and turned back into the room, emerging a few minutes later.
Koa Jackson had slightly warmed up the breakfast in the microwave and placed it on the dining table for her, with the soy milk still steaming.
Mia wrapped her arms around his neck and planted a kiss on his chin before sitting down to eat. While eating, she turned her head towards him and said, "I’ve gotten really good at cooking. You’ll be in for a treat from now on."
Koa let out a chuckle, "Oh, really?"
"Really." Mia widened her eyes at him, "Especially in the past six months, I’ve improved by leaps and bounds. If you don’t believe me, call Bob Ginger, he’s so reluctant to let me go. He’s probably crying right now."
"It’s still dark over there." Koa was amused by her antics.
Mia was momentarily stunned, then nodded to herself, "Okay, but he will definitely cry anyway."
Koa watched her indulgently.
Mia always ate quickly. When they first met, she seemed a bit reserved, but now all those feelings were gone. She sat with a straight back at the dining table, eating quietly with a touch of elegance.
For some reason, Koa suddenly thought of Aurora Cooper and asked her, "What are your plans for today?"
"Are you working this afternoon?" Mia asked him.
"Yes," Koa nodded.
"Then you go to work, and after breakfast, I’ll go see my mom. I’ll pick you up after you finish work." Mia thought for a moment before replying.
Koa was taken aback, "You’re picking me up?"
"Yes." Mia nodded, smiling at him, "How about letting me drive your Bentley? It’s too hot to take the subway, and taxis aren’t as good as driving. It’s slow anyway."
"..." Koa suddenly remembered that she got her driver’s license last summer break.
Still not entirely reassured.
Koa looked at her and said, "You’d better take a taxi. Go for a drive another day. Safety first."
"I could already drive when I came back for winter break, and this isn’t my first time here. I know the routes well, so don’t worry." Mia tidied up the dishes and stood up, saying, "Besides, I even drove secretly abroad, heh heh, my classmate’s car."
Koa: "..."
He looked toward the kitchen, where the sound of washing dishes came from.
Mia soon came out again, earnestly saying to him, "Don’t underestimate me. I’m pretty good at driving, I can handle it."
"Want to go see a movie?" Koa suddenly suggested.
Mia: "Huh?"
"Isn’t today Chinese Valentine’s Day?" Koa smiled, "There’s still time. Let’s go see a movie, and I’ll let you drive, as a little test of your skills."
"It’s a deal." Mia grinned.
The two of them started getting ready to leave.
Mia went to put on her shoes, only to notice her backpack on the ground. She paused, quickly picked it up.
She unzipped it to look.
The compact camera was inside, fortunately protected by an extra case, it was fine.
She breathed a sigh of relief, reached in and pulled out a small box, and handed it to Koa with a smile.
"A gift for me?" Koa asked her.
"Yep." Mia blinked with a smile, "See if you like it?"
Koa opened it directly, looking a bit surprised as he pulled out a keychain. It was a double-sided photo keychain, and the side facing him had his photo. He had seen it on Mia’s phone before, where she had used that photo as her background for two whole years, and he didn’t even bother to say anything about it.
