Chapter 952: Chapter 979: Mia Ginger’s Return (5)
"Day and night, I think of you," he said.
Mia Ginger paused, almost tearing up, "Me too."
Koa Jackson lowered his head, consuming her wholly in an instant.
The bedroom curtains were drawn; the room was dimly lit.
Mia Ginger felt like she had died twice over.
When she finally opened her eyes again, she realized it was dark outside, and she was still nestled in Koa Jackson’s arms, too lazy to even move a finger.
Koa Jackson looked down at her, his face full of satisfaction.
Mia Ginger pursed her lips, pouting, "How could you be like this? I was planning to see my parents tonight!"
"Hmm?"...
He stopped mid-sentence, leaving the meaning in his eyes to make Mia Ginger curl her toes in embarrassment.
After a while, she changed the topic, "Are we going back tonight?"
Koa Jackson glanced at his watch, thought for a moment, and replied in a light voice, "It’s nine o’clock. Let’s just stay here for the night. Are you hungry? Let’s go out to eat first, then we can come back and continue sleeping."
Mia Ginger had no choice but to nod.
Koa Jackson thought for a bit and added, "There are no takeout menus at home, but there are still some things in the fridge. How about making some porridge?"
"Okay." Mia Ginger agreed with a smile.
"Then just stay put." Koa Jackson said, getting up to go to the bathroom.
Mia Ginger yawned, feeling sleepy again. Before long, she was scooped up by Koa Jackson, eyes half-closed, to take a bath and eat.
——
The next day, in the morning.
Koa Jackson woke up a little after five and didn’t go for a run.
Around six, he started trying to wake Mia Ginger up. It wasn’t until seven that Mia Ginger groggily opened her eyes.
Koa Jackson asked helplessly, "Sleepy?"
"I have jet lag," Mia Ginger muttered, and went back to sleep.
Koa Jackson: "..."
He had an afternoon meeting at another hospital and no appointments in the morning, so he took the day off. He went downstairs to buy breakfast for both of them and returned to find Mia Ginger still asleep, deeply unconscious.
Feeling bored after eating, he casually watched some TV. By nine, Mia Ginger finally got up from bed.
The night before, he had washed her clothes and hung them to dry on the balcony. She came out wearing one of his shirts, her bare legs running to the balcony in slippers to find her clothes.
The August sun was bright, and by nine, it was already getting hot.
Koa Jackson watched her through the window, squinting his eyes. He couldn’t help but smile after just a couple of glances.
It wasn’t the first time Mia Ginger had worn his shirt. She often did in the past, looking young and immature, like a child. There was a time when her hair was extremely short, making her look almost like a tomboy.
But now her hair had grown longer. In the morning, she hadn’t tied it up, and it hung smoothly over her shoulders, creating a beautiful arc in the air as she stood on tiptoe. Unknowingly, she had gained a bit of a woman’s charm.
Twenty-three years old.
Koa Jackson thought absently, suddenly realizing he was already thirty.
Time flies so fast.
Mia Ginger took down her clothes, sniffed them, and smiled at him, "They smell so nice. Thank you, Brother Jackson."
"Hurry up and get dressed so we can eat," Koa Jackson urged her.
