Chapter 80: Awkwardness Of Being in the Same Room

Editor: Henyee Translations

"Were you waiting for me to eat when I called you just now?" Owen suddenly asked Anita.

Anita didn’t expect Owen to suddenly ask this question. "No... no, I wasn’t waiting for you," Anita stuttered as she lowered her head. ƒгeewёbnovel.com

Owen knew by Anita’s words that she must have been waiting for him to come back. He was glad that he didn’t continue to work overtime. At the thought of this, he smiled and said, "I’m glad I’m done with work, or I probably wouldn’t have been able to eat this delicious pasta."

"Work is more important. If you like spaghetti, I can make it for you next time," Anita said with a smile.

"But the taste this time will definitely be different from the next time," Owen said while glancing at Anita. ƒrēewebnovel.com

Anita didn’t respond to Owen’s words, but she blushed a little.

By the time they finished eating and tidied the kitchen, it was time to wash up. Neither of them mentioned who was moving to whose room. But by the time Anita reached her room, Owen was right behind her.

Anita turned and glanced at Owen without saying anything, but her face seemed to blush even more.

Then she turned and walked to the bathroom. When she came out after washing up, Owen was already waiting at the door with his pajamas. "I’m done. Go wash up," Anita said while glancing at Owen and looking down.

"Okay, give me a minute," Owen said and went into the washroom.

Anita saw Owen go into the bathroom and hurried to the study to find a book. Because she felt that it would definitely be awkward when the two of them laid on the bed later, she wanted to find a book to conceal her awkwardness.

But she didn’t expect the books in Owen’s study to be so professional. She really couldn’t understand them.

So she could only reluctantly take a book and lie on the bed to pretend.

When Owen came out after washing up, he saw Anita leaning against the head of the bed while reading intently. He was stunned for a moment. He thought Anita was already so stressed about her studies that she was even studying at night.

But when he was in bed, he glanced at the cover of the book cover. It was "The American Empire".

Owen was stunned. He hadn’t expected Anita to be so well-rounded that she was even interested in American history.

At this moment, he suddenly wondered if he needed to work harder. Otherwise, he wouldn’t be able to keep up with Anita.

But unexpectedly, when he leaned closer to Anita and saw the contents of the book, he realized that it was still on the cataloging page. Owen restrained himself from smiling and then asked, "Anita, what are you looking at? Can you tell me?"

Anita looked at Owen, who was leaning closer to her. She was already nervous, so she didn’t expect him to suddenly ask her this. So she stuttered, "Look at the cover. It’s ’The American Empire’."

"Really? I see that. But can you tell me what the content is?" Owen said while holding in his laughter.

At this moment, he really seemed like a curious student, but Anita knew that this was definitely not what he meant. He must have seen through her disguise, so she decided not to pretend anymore.

She closed the book and said, "Didn’t you see it already? You took the book from your study. I just saw the cataloging page, so I don’t know what’s inside."

Owen finally couldn’t help but snicker at Anita’s words. His laughter infuriated Anita.

She reached out and hit Owen a few times when she put the book down. "You did that on purpose."

Owen didn’t move and just laid there obediently as Anita hit him a few times. After she was done, he smiled and said, "Okay, don’t be angry. I just wanted to talk to you, but I didn’t expect you to work so hard. This gives me stress."

"You’re just talking nonsense. I don’t believe you," Anita said while glancing at Owen.

"What should I do? Then hit me a few more times." Owen reached out and pulled Anita’s hand to hit him.

"What are you doing?" Anita was shocked by Owen’s gesture. She didn’t really want to hit Owen, but she felt like he had exposed her. For a moment, she was embarrassed.

"Are you less angry now? Let’s sleep," Owen said with a smile while looking at Anita.

"Yes." Anita didn’t say anything else. She pulled the blanket and lay down.

"I turned off the light," Owen said while glancing at Anita, who was already lying under the blanket.

"Okay, turn it off," Anita said quietly.

The light was turned off and the room darkened completely. Anita swallowed nervously and did not even dare to turn over.

"Anita, are you asleep?" Owen suddenly turned over and leaned closer to Anita.

Anita could feel the sudden heat coming from behind her, and she felt even more nervous all of a sudden. She didn’t know how to answer Owen’s question.
