"No, you don’t have to send me. My mentor told me to wait for his notice before going to school," Anita said to Owen. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

"Well, I’ll get going. Call me if anything happens," Owen said while standing at the door changing his shoes.

"Okay, be safe at work," Anita said with a smile while looking at Owen.

Owen smiled and nodded before leaving.

Bruce went to work early today too, because he had ordered a meal for President Owen the day before. He wanted to know what had happened to them last night, so he came to the office early to wait.

"Good morning, CEO." As soon as he saw Owen enter, Bruce immediately went up to greet him.

Owen froze at the sight of Bruce, who was so enthusiastic. "Morning, Bruce," he said dubiously.

Bruce looked at Owen curiously. Owen didn’t say anything and was about to walk to the office.

"President... President." Bruce couldn’t help but call Owen.

Owen stopped and turned to Bruce. "What is it?"

"President, did you have a good meal last night?" Bruce did not ask too directly.

"It was good. Don’t you go to that restaurant often?" Owen didn’t understand Bruce’s point.

Bruce was exasperated when he heard Owen’s words. He had the feeling the CEO was too dense.

But at this point, it would be too inappropriate for him to ask if he and Miss Anita had had a pleasant night.

So he could only say helplessly, "Yes, I go there often. It’s just that that restaurant has a new dish that I haven’t tried yet, so I asked you." The two of them didn’t know what each other meant.

"I didn’t eat it yesterday. I’ll try it next time," Owen said and headed for the office.

Bruce looked at Owen’s back as he walked away and sighed.

Owen left early yesterday. There was still a lot to do, so after sitting in the office today, he worked the whole day. When he finally got off work, he saw that the time on his watch was past eight.

He suddenly remembered that he hadn’t told Anita about it, so he quickly took out his phone and called Anita.

"Hey, Owen, are you back?" Anita picked up the phone quickly and smiled.

"I’m sorry, Anita, I have some work to do. I might have to wait a while," Owen said with a smile.

"It’s okay. Go ahead. I’ve already eaten," Anita said with a smile on the other end of the line.

"Okay, I’ll hang up then. I have to get busy," Owen said.

"Okay, get busy." Anita looked at the things she had prepared on the table and smiled before hanging up.

She didn’t have anything to do at home today, so she went out and bought some pasta and beef tenderloin. Her culinary skills were limited, so she could only try to make Owen a black pepperoni pasta. When it was ready, she tried it herself. It tasted good, but hse didn’t expect Owen to work overtime today.

But when she thought about it, she couldn’t blame Owen. After all, she hadn’t told him beforehand that she had cooked. So Anita sighed and sat at the dining room table. She didn’t have much of an appetite anymore.

After the call ended, Owen felt something was wrong. He could tell that Anita sounded a little disappointed. He thought that what he had done was really wrong.

He had worked overtime until so late and had not told her in advance. After thinking about it, he decided to hurry home.

After turning off the computer, he picked up his jacket and prepared to leave.

Most of the people in the company had already left. However, because he left early yesterday, there was a part of his work that was not completed, so he was still working overtime.

When he reached the underground parking lot, he started the car and drove very quickly.

After he reached home and parked the car, he hurried upstairs without stopping.

"Owen, why are you back so soon?" Anita was sitting at the dining table alone while looking at her phone in loneliness. When she heard the sound at the door, she suddenly went out and looked. She didn’t expect Owen to be back, and she asked in surprise.

"Yes, I’m back. I’m done with work." Owen didn’t say that he had returned early, because he saw the joy in Anita’s eyes.

"Go wash your hands then. I made black pepper beef pasta. Try it later," Anita said with a smile.

Owen listened to Anita and quickly changed his shoes before going to wash his hands. He sat at the dining room table.

"Try it. I don’t know if you like the taste of black pepper," Anita said expectantly as she handed Owen her fork.

Owen took the fork and tasted the black pepper beef pasta. "It’s delicious. It tastes great. I think it tastes better than the food at the restaurant we went to yesterday," Owen said with a smile as he swallowed the food in his mouth.

"Really?" Anita asked with an embarrassed smile upon hearing Owen’s praise.

"Yes, it’s really delicious. Sit down and let’s eat together." Owen reached out and touched Anita affectionately while smiling.

Anita nodded and sat down.
