Chapter 77: Taking a Walk by the River

Owen wasn’t very happy to hear Anita’s self-deprecating words. He felt that Anita was really very talented. He also believed that this tune really came from Anita, but he didn’t know if Anita needed his insignificant trust.
"Anita, you’ve always been a very outstanding girl in my eyes. You could pass the graduate entrance examination and become your mentor’s student, and he appreciated you enough to participate in the experiment, which proves that you’re great," Owen finally said.
"Thank you, Owen. These things are in the past. Don’t say anything about it from today onward. Don’t ask," Anita said as she picked up the glass in front of her and took a sip.
"Anita, why are you drinking again? You’re not allowed to drink anymore," Owen said helplessly while looking at Anita. He was really afraid she would get drunk again. Although her being drunk might be a good thing for him, it wasn’t what he wanted after all.
"I know. I just took a small sip," Anita said with a smile as she looked at Owen and stuck out her tongue.
Owen really didn’t have the strength to resist when he looked at Anita. He thought, at this time, Anita could ask him for anything, let alone a drink.
"Are you full?" Owen asked Anita after drinking from his glass.
"Yes, I’m stuffed," Anita said with a smile as she patted her stomach.
"Well, that’s good. Let’s go then," Owen said with a smile.
"Let’s go." Upon hearing Owen say they were leaving, Anita quickly picked up her bag and stood up.
"Why are you in such a hurry? Wait for me." Owen smiled and left his seat first to go to the cashier.
"Hello, Mr. Owen," the waiter said with a smile as he looked at Owen.
"Hello. The bill is still on my account. Help me call a designated driver," Owen said as he took the bill and signed it.
"Okay, President Owen, the designated driver has been arranged for you," the waiter said with a smile as he took the bill.
"Um, thanks," Owen said politely with a smile and headed in Anita’s direction.
"Come on, I can take you around the river downstairs. Do you want to go?" Owen took Anita’s hand and smiled. ƒreewebɳovel.com
"Yes, I want to go," Anita said with a shy smile.
"Then let’s go," Owen said and they headed for the door.
"I look forward to your next visit," the waiter at the door said with a smile.
Owen and Anita nodded and headed for the river.
This was a crowded time, especially for couples holding hands. Anita looked at these intimate couples and then at Owen, who had been holding her hand. Her smile began to widen. ƒгeewebnovёl.com
"What is it? Why are you smiling? You look so happy," Owen asked while shaking Anita’s hand.
"Nothing, I just feel that the vibe is very good," Anita said with a smile as she lowered her head.
Owen didn’t respond to Anita’s words but just held her hand tighter.
There was a wind blowing by the river. It was very comfortable. There were also some street artists singing. Most of them were singing light music that was especially suitable for this romantic atmosphere. The two of them didn’t say anything else and just walked by the river for more than half an hour while holding hands.
"How is it? Are you tired?" Owen said to Anita.
"It’s okay," Anita said with a smile as she lowered her head. She was still a little unused to Owen’s concern, because she would always be greedy and overthink the situation.
"Let’s go back. It’s about time," Owen said while glancing at Anita’s shoes again.
"Okay, let’s go back." Anita didn’t know what Owen meant. She thought he had something to do. Although she felt reluctant, she nodded in agreement.
"Let me carry you," Owen suddenly said as he bent down and stood in front of Anita.
"No... no need. I can walk myself." Anita looked at Owen, who was in a high-end suit, and quickly waved her hand nervously.
"Come on, there are so many people watching. If you don’t come up, I’m going to hug you," Owen said with a smile upon seeing Anita’s nervousness.
Anita didn’t expect Owen to have such a side. For a moment, she didn’t know how to react. She took two steps forward and laid her head on Owen’s back.
Owen waited until Anita finally came up on his back before standing. "Then we’re leaving."
Anita lay on Owen’s back and nodded. After Owen took two steps, she said, "Am I heavy? Why don’t I come down?"
Owen smiled at Anita’s words. "Don’t worry. You’re not heavy. I can carry you."
Anita listened to Owen and didn’t respond, but the smile on her face deepened.
Owen didn’t walk very quickly with Anita on his back. Owen didn’t think it was a big deal, but Anita felt embarrassed on Owen’s back.
