Chapter 160: Scoop?

Editor: Henyee Translations

He thought he would have some kind of dream, but he didn’t expect to fall asleep so soundly while holding Anita in his arms and smelling her familiar scent.

In the morning, he was woken up by Bruce’s call. "President, aren’t you coming to work today? If you don’t come soon, we’ll go on strike." As soon as the call went through, Bruce said quickly.

"Bruce, your voice is so loud that my ears hurt from listening to it," Owen said as he listened to Bruce and pulled the phone away a little.

"It’s okay. Am I that loud?" Bruce said shyly as he listened to Owen.

"Yes, you’re really loud. Why are you calling me at this hour?" fɾēewebnσveℓ.com

"After Miss Anita comes back, you don’t even look at the time? It’s almost nine." Bruce held his forehead helplessly on the other end of the phone.

Owen took the phone down to look at the time. It was indeed nine. "Okay, I understand. I’ll go to the office now." Owen put the phone back to his ear and hung up.

"What’s wrong? Is that Bruce?" Anita woke up and said to Owen.

"Yes, I have to go to the office today to settle things. Wait for me at home. I’ll pick you up this afternoon and go home with you," Owen said with a smile as he lowered his head and kissed Anita.

Anita smiled and nodded at Owen.

The two of them parted ways. Owen really didn’t want to leave Anita, but there was still a lot of work to do at the company, so he could only hug her and kiss her twice before getting out of bed.

After a quick wash, Owen changed his clothes and drove to the office.

After hanging up the phone, Bruce was actually a little nervous. Ever since President Owen and Miss Anita got together, he seemed to have been doing such things all the time, and they tested his mental endurance every time.

He sighed and thought, could it be that falling in love could really change a person so easily? Where had the disciplined and strict CEO who was focused on his work every day gone?

"Bruce, is the CEO coming today?" The marketing manager came up to ask Owen for his signature. Seeing that the office door was still tightly closed, he said to Bruce.

"Don’t ask me. I don’t know either." Bruce looked up at the marketing manager and sighed helplessly.

"Why don’t you know what our CEO is doing? If he’s skipping work..." The marketing manager said in confusion when he heard Bruce say that.

"It’s all because of love," Bruce said to the marketing manager.

"Love... What does this have to do with love? Isn’t our CEO already married? Could it be..." When the marketing manager heard Bruce say this, he thought that Owen had a mistress, so he looked at Bruce and said gossipily.

"What are you thinking? The CEO is with Miss Anita." Bruce looked at the marketing manager and knew what he was thinking. He couldn’t help but shove him.

"Okay, I thought there was some shocking scoop about the CEO." The marketing manager looked up at Bruce again.

"Ask me if you want to hear some scoop," Owen said coldly while standing behind them.

"President... President, there’s... there’s no scoop," the two of them said quickly when they heard Owen.

"Really? There’s no scoop. What are you two talking about so early in the morning? Have you been working overtime too little recently?" Owen said again while looking at the two of them.

The marketing manager was about to break out in cold sweat when he heard Owen’s words. Bruce, on the other hand, was more calm. He had been with Owen for so many years, and he knew Owen’s temper.

Although he said that, it didn’t mean that he was really angry. So he thought about it and looked up. "President, no... no, you don’t know. When you weren’t around, we worked overtime until almost 11."

"Really? Do I have to give you a labor award?" Owen said and walked into the office.

As soon as Owen left, the marketing manager looked up at Bruce and whispered, "When did the CEO come? You didn’t tell me."

"I didn’t know when he came. If I saw him, I wouldn’t have said anything," Bruce also looked at the marketing manager and said softly.

"Why are you looking for me? Hurry up and come here." Owen pushed open the office door and saw that the two of them were still talking softly, so he spoke again.

"Yes, CEO." The marketing manager hurried to Owen’s office with the document when he heard Owen.

"President, I need you to sign this," the marketing manager said to Owen as he placed the document on his desk.

Owen took the information on the table and glanced at it. After signing it, he handed it to him again. "What were you guys talking about just now?"

The marketing manager, who was about to leave with the information, suddenly heard Owen’s words again, so he stopped. "No... nothing. I just said that you have been too tired recently and need to rest."
