Chapter 159: Ethan’s Rejection
Editor: Henyee Translations
Owen glanced at Anita’s back and turned back to continue drying his hair while looking around the house. As expected, with a few bouquets of flowers, the house looked very different. Now, the house looked lively and cozy.
After looking around the room, Owen’s hair was almost dry, so he was about to put the towel in the bathroom first. "Anita, your phone is ringing," Owen said into the bedroom while glancing at the phone on the sofa.
After what had happened last time, Owen didn’t want to casually look through Anita’s phone again. On the one hand, it was out of trust, and on the other hand, he felt that Anita should have her own space.
Anita had just taken her pajamas and entered the washroom. It was not convenient for her to go out and look at her phone now, and she thought that it was nothing important anyway.
So she opened the door and said slightly louder towards the outside of the bedroom, "It might be a message from my teacher. Help me take a look."
Owen glanced again at the phone on the table as he listened to Anita. Finally, he leaned over and picked it up. Even though Anita had asked him to take a look for her, he still didn’t really want to do that.
So he picked up his phone and walked into the room. "Anita, come out later and see for yourself," Owen said as he stood at the door.
"What did you say? I can’t hear you clearly." Anita had just turned on the bathroom shower. The water was running, and she couldn’t hear what Owen was saying.
"Nothing. I left my phone here for you." Owen knew she couldn’t hear what he was saying now, so he smiled helplessly and put the phone on the head of the bed.
Then, he turned around and went to the study to choose a book. He lay on the bed and read while waiting for Anita.
"What did you just say? I couldn’t hear you clearly," Anita said to Owen, who was lying on the bed, while drying her hair after washing up.
"Nothing. I told you someone sent you a message. I left your phone by the bed for you. Come take a look," Owen said with a smile.
"What message? Didn’t I ask you to take a look for me? What are you afraid of?" Anita couldn’t help but smile as she listened to Owen. She remembered the misunderstanding he had caused a while ago because Owen had secretly deleted her message.
"I’m not afraid. I just don’t want the two of us to have any more misunderstandings," Owen said with a smile as he looked at Anita, who was sitting by the bed.
Anita smiled at Owen and turned to take the phone from the bed. After unlocking it, she read the message.
So it was Ethan’s reply to her. The person who sent her the flowers had just come after she sent the message and she had forgotten about it. She only remembered now.
However, the content of the message didn’t make her very happy, because Ethan had rejected her invitation. freёwebnoѵel.com
"What’s wrong? Who sent you the message?" Owen asked when he saw that Anita didn’t look as happy as she had earlier.
"Nothing. I just sent Ethan a message and wanted to ask him out for dinner," Anita said to Owen as she put down her phone.
"Sure. When is it? I’ll go with you then," Owen said after a moment.
"Why are you going?" Anita asked, puzzled by Owen’s words.
"Of course I have to thank him for taking such good care of you in England. And didn’t you say that he was your best friend? Then of course I have to have a meal with you guys and get to know each other," Owen said with a smile as he reached out and hugged Anita.
"Okay, but Ethan refused. He said he didn’t have time. I keep feeling like he’s become a different person since he returned to the country," Anita said softly while leaning into Owen’s arms.
"Really? Maybe he’s really busy with work. Don’t worry too much," Owen said while listening to Anita.
To be honest, he didn’t expect Ethan to send Anita a message just now. He felt a little uncomfortable when he saw the two of them together the day he picked them up.
But after all, Anita had said that the two of them were best friends. After being together for so many years, it was inevitable that they would have some intimate actions. He had also told himself not to worry too much and not to mind.
But he might not be able to ignore it if all three of them gathered. Fortunately, Ethan rejected Anita’s invitation. Otherwise, he might get jealous when they ate together.
However, the carefree Anita did not notice it at all. "Okay, let’s sleep. I’m so sleepy," Anita said softly as she turned around.
"Go to sleep. Good night." Owen glanced down at Anita, then leaned closer to her and kissed her. Then he turned over and turned off the bedside light before lying down and hugging Anita.
