Chapter 141: Photos

Editor: Henyee Translations

The photo that greeted her eyes was that of a man and a woman. She happened to know both of them, but when the two of them appeared in the same photo, she felt that they seemed unfamiliar.

Anita looked at the photo in a daze and swiped left. Three people appeared in this photo.

Owen, Bruce, and Miranda were standing at the restaurant’s door. She zoomed in on the photo.

It was Xiyue Restaurant. Owen had taken her to this restaurant before. At that time, the two of them had a candlelight dinner there. Although she had forgotten what she had eaten at that time, she still remembered clearly how they had walked by the river hand in hand after the meal.

Anita’s hand couldn’t help but tremble. She scrolled down again. This photo should have been taken outside Owen’s company.

Bruce stood outside the car and waved. The person sitting in the car was Miranda.

There weren’t many photos to begin with. After Anita flipped through them, she froze. She suddenly felt a little helpless. Why had she encountered such a thing again?

It was the same when she broke up with Eric. He lied to her to break up with her, but she found out that he had secretly cheated on her and was with someone else.

She had been thinking happily that she could return to the country tomorrow and see Owen, but she suddenly received these few photos. Anita was so sad that she couldn’t help but bend down and hug her legs.

Her phone was by the bed. She wanted to call Owen and ask why he was meeting with Miranda. She didn’t believe Owen would cheat on her Miranda while being with her.

But the photo couldn’t be fake. Why was that? Owen video called her every day and said he missed her. Was it all a lie?

The more Anita thought about it, the sadder she became. Her eyes welled up with tears.

"Who are you? Why did you send me these photos?" Anita hugged herself and felt sad for a while. Finally, she came back to her senses and composed a message on her phone before sending it to this unfamiliar email.

She did not know if this stranger would reply to her, but if she did not ask, she definitely wouldn’t be able to sleep tonight.

Her phone rang. Joan came back to her senses and quickly picked up her phone to look. Ever since she had sent those photos to Anita, she had been feeling nervous.

On one hand, she wondered how Anita would react when she saw these photos. Would she break up with Owen immediately? On the other hand, she wondered if she had gone too far. What if Owen and her family found out? ƒreeωebnovel.ƈom

Just as she was feeling uneasy, she received a questioning message from Anita.

Joan opened it. The message was very simple. She was just asking who she was.

Looking at the email, Joan smiled. She suddenly felt that Anita was really naive. She had already sent the photos to her phone, yet she still asked who she was. Even if the person who sent the photo today was not her and was someone else, it was impossible for that person to reply.

After looking at her phone for a long time, Joan planned something else. She wondered when she should send the photo she had taken of Anita and the man called Ethan to Owen.

She suddenly felt a faint sense of anticipation. She wondered what Owen would look like when he saw these photos.

At the thought of this, Joan looked up at herself in the bathroom mirror. Was this woman with a sinister smile on her face her?

She nodded, and the person in the mirror nodded. She pursed her lips, and the person in the mirror did the same. Now, she was sure that this person was her.

In the past, Joan was a cheerful and lovable young lady, but why had she become like this? No one gave Joan an answer.

"Owen, it’s all because of you. Why did you get married? Why wasn’t I the one you got married to? Anita clearly doesn’t deserve you in any way, but she’s the one you like."

Anita waited for a long time but there was no reply. She was finally sure that this email had been sent specifically for her to see. The purpose must have been to separate her from Owen. Anita wondered who had such thoughts.

She tossed and turned in bed the entire night but couldn’t think of anything.

The next morning, she didn’t need the alarm to ring to wake up. She got up herself and washed up briefly. When she opened the door, she saw Ethan, who was already waiting at the door. "Anita, you’re up."

Anita nodded at Ethan and walked out. "What’s wrong? Anita, you don’t look good. Why are your dark circles so heavy?" Ethan asked with concern as he pulled Anita back.

"Nothing. I didn’t sleep well last night," Anita said with a faint smile as she looked at Ethan.

"We’re returning to the country today. Is it because you’re too excited?" Ethan replied to Anita.
