After he was done, he had to report to Owen. He knocked on the door and heard Owen’s voice. He pushed the door open and entered. "President, it’s done. The contract has been signed."
"Has Miss Miranda been sent away?" Owen asked Bruce again.
"I’ve already sent them away, but I think I saw someone at the door just now," Bruce said, looking at Owen again.
"Who?" Owen asked dubiously as he listened to Bruce.
"Nothing. Maybe I’m thinking too much. I guess it’s the paparazzi who’s following Miss Miranda," Bruce said while looking at Owen.
After listening to what Bruce said, Owen didn’t dwell on it and nodded.
Anita, who was overseas, was already eager to go home. It was the second-to-last day of the exchange.
She couldn’t help but feel happy as she lay in bed. Thinking that she would see Owen when she went back tomorrow night, she hugged the blanket and rolled around happily.
She had wanted to make another video call with Owen, but they had video called so late last night, so Owen must not have slept well. If she called today, he might not sleep well again.
Since she was going back tomorrow, she decided not to disturb Owen anymore. She played with her phone for a while and saw that it was almost ten. Anita put down her phone and went to the bathroom to wash up before going to bed.
When she finished washing up and was about to turn off the light, her phone rang twice again. She thought it was Owen sending her a message, so she quickly got up and searched for her phone.
She took her phone and saw that it was not a message, but a reminder from her email. Anita looked at the number on the email first and was stunned. She was unfamiliar with this email number and had probably never contacted it.
She didn’t know what the unknown number had sent her, so Anita hesitantly clicked on it.
After a day of work, Owen was about to get off work. He turned off the light in the office and walked out to see Bruce staring at his phone happily. So he smiled and asked, "Bruce, what’s the matter? You look happy."
Bruce had been focused on his phone when he suddenly heard Owen’s voice. He quickly came back to his senses and locked his phone before looking at Owen. "Nothing."
Owen watched Bruce’s actions and then smiled when he saw his nervous look. "Nothing? Then why are you smiling foolishly at your phone? Show me."
"President, it’s really nothing. This is my privacy. How can you look at my phone?" Bruce tightened his grip on his phone and said to Owen.
"Really? Let me guess. Are you chatting with Miss Miranda?" Owen teased when he saw Bruce holding his phone.
"No... no. She said she hasn’t been a spokesperson for electronic products before, so she asked me something," Bruce said softly without looking at Owen.
"Really? Then tell Miss Miranda more about it. If you can’t explain it on the phone, ask her out for a meeting. Wouldn’t that make it clearer?" Owen knocked on Bruce’s table and smiled.
Bruce said nothing as he listened to Owen. He wanted to ask Miss Miranda out for a meeting, but they had just met. How could that be appropriate? freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
Owen saw that Bruce didn’t say anything else, so he said nothing. He hadn’t settled his relationship with Anita yet, so what right did he have to say anything about Bruce? He smiled helplessly.
"Then I’ll get off work first. Don’t work too long." With that, Owen turned and headed for the elevator.
After getting out of the elevator and into the car, Owen looked at the passenger seat beside him. No one had sat in it for days.
Not wanting the car to be so quiet, Owen thought about it and turned on the music. Listening to the music, he felt like he wasn’t that lonely anymore, so he started the car and drove home.
When he reached home and opened the door to look at the room, he immediately felt an urge to see Anita quickly, but this was unrealistic, so he could only take out his phone and call Anita via video.
However, no one picked up the video call even after he called twice. He wondered if Anita was asleep, but when he looked at the time, he felt that it shouldn’t be the case.
Normally, Anita would either be waiting for him to call at this time, or she would be summarizing today’s information. She shouldn’t be sleeping so early, but why didn’t she pick up his call?
Confused, Owen headed for the bathroom. He thought about calling Anita after he washed up.
The phone rang twice more, but no one picked up. Owen raised his hand to wipe his freshly washed hair. Was Anita really asleep?
So he stopped stubbornly calling her. Anita would be back tomorrow anyway.
After drying his hair, Owen lay in bed. The thought of picking up Anita tomorrow made him start to plan happily. Should he prepare some surprise or buy some gift before picking her up? After all, they hadn’t seen each other in days.
