Chapter 239: Chapter 238 - Invasion(Part 4)

Point-of-View: X

———————————————————————————

"H-hey, slow down, I’m gonna fall off if you keep going like this!" I exclaimed in alarm, clinging to his shoulders with all my strength.

"Try not to! Your Nullification could be highly useful!" Responded Bastet, as he picked up his speed.

Damn it, it feels like I’m just barely hanging on to a thread! My fingernails are practically digging into his shoulders, doesn’t he feel it? Oh, right, he can heal himself so this is probably nothing to him, huh?

The instant midnight struck and Bastet reacted, Miraliz suddenly disappeared as a portal swallowed her up. Bastet surmised that it was Laplace’s doing, and wasted no time in heading for where he was sensing the bridge between Hell and the living world from. freeweɓnovēl.coɱ

Before he left, he told me to come with him and to hang on tight. So, after I took a minute to grab some light energy bombs, stocked up on my hidden daggers and needles, I grabbed onto his shoulders, but before I could wrap my legs around his waist to properly secure myself, he was already taking off.

And at the speed he’s going, I can’t muster up the core strength to move my legs forward and wrap around him with all this momentum to go against! It’s taking everything I’ve got just to hang on at this point, I’ll die if I lose my grip!

"Hey, come on, just stop for, like, a second so that I can properly hold on to you, I’m so gonna fall at this rate!" I yelled urgently.

"No need for that, we have arrived," He remarked, as he suddenly halted.

And for the first time, I noticed the barrier we were standing outside of, having been too preoccupied with hanging on for dear life to focus on literally anything else.

"I’m getting the creeps, not so sure I want to go past this barrier," I frowned apprehensively, as I felt my skin crawl.

"I can sense some extremely powerful presences in there...the Demons of Sin are likely in here, possibly even Satan himself," Grimaced Bastet warily, before glancing at me, "Well? What are you waiting for? Use your Nullification on this barrier."

"Yeah, yeah, don’t tell me what to do," I sighed in response, before activating Nullification.

A wide gap appeared in the barrier as I did, Bastet walking through it as I followed after him.

"It would have taken quite a while to break through this barrier with force, I am glad I brought you with me," He remarked, before zipping across towards a Demon who showed up and tearing off his head before he could respond.

He then used his barrier power and formed several spikes inside of the Demon’s body, killing him as he presumably struck the Demon’s core and turned his body to ash.

"Wow, nice, that guy’s Aura was pretty close to your own in terms of capacity," I mused, as I walked over towards him.

"Hm...I hate to admit it, but perhaps training all of you has inadvertently sharpened my own senses and reaction speeds. Even the weakest of Demons, when at their full power, are on par with or, at most, slightly inferior to us minor Deities. With that in mind, the fact that I defeated this one so easily means that I was superior in terms of skill," He surmised, after mulling it over.

"Yeah, that’s great and all, but...incoming!" I exclaimed, as I spotted several Demons flying towards us.

"Do not let them surround you...keep moving and target any who stray away from the ground," He advised me, before zipping away.

Oh, guess we’re splitting up. That asshole...don’t tell me he only brought me here to create an opening in the barrier!? He’s totally not gonna help if I’m about to be killed, is he? That jerk...!

"Seriously, did you not hear me before...don’t tell me what to do!" I snapped, as I took out a light energy bombs and slammed it onto the ground as four Demons closed in on me from multiple directions.

It exploded into a misty cloud, it actually felt kinda nice and cooling. But from the look of it, the Demons will probably disagree with that notion...

"Wh-what is this...!?" Gasped one of the Demons, as I used the misty cover to slip out of their sight.

I’ve also got some regular smoke bombs on me, but those are pretty much to be used exclusively for escapes. And I don’t plan on running away, at least not just yet...

I snuck up behind one of the Demons as he collapsed onto one knee, struggling to get up before letting out a choked gasp as I slit his throat from behind.

Such injuries usually would be nothing to Demons, but with the light energy mist, plus the concentrated light energy that I’ve laced my weapons with...each and every hit I inflict will make them weaker and weaker.

I can barely hold my own against Bastet, it takes all I’ve got to dodge his attacks, and the few times I’ve gotten an opening and tried to counter, I can only graze him or land a partial hit at best.

Even if these Demons aren’t as skilled as he is in combat, they’re still a hell of a lot more powerful than I am. So I’ll just keep wearing them down bit by bit...until they’re so weak than they’re no longer a threat to me!

Point-of-View: Satan

"Another breach? What is going on here?" I muttered in bewilderment.

"It sounds like a Deity has appeared in that direction, and they’re not alone," Beelzebub informed me, having received reports.

"And what of the first breach?" I inquired with a frown.

"We don’t know...all the Demons there are being killed before they can report anything. But if I had to wager a guess...it’s probably that human woman, Aurora," He replied after a brief pause.

"Yes, those shadowy streaks match the description of her abilities. And it would appear that she is getting closer and closer to this location," I remarked warily. freeweɓnovel.cøm

"Should we have some of the Thirteen Fiends intercept her?" Suggested Belial in response.

"No. Instead, have all thirteen of them regroup here," I decided after mulling it over.

"Very well, my Lord, understood."

As a crash echoed out from just about a hundred meters away, the thirteen Fiends then appeared around me, bowing their heads before me. They are a collection of Demons whose souls were among some of the most heinous while they were human.

One of the newest additions to their ranks, and rising to the top spot in no time at all, Fiend Alpha, Nazi King Hitler. I’m sure you’ve heard of him. The second most powerful, Fiend Beta, Caligula the Tyrant. Followed by Fiend Gamma, Queen Bloody Mary.

Fourth is Fiend Delta, the Conquerer Genghis Khan. In fifth place, Fiend Epsilon, Ivan the Terrible. Next there’s Fiend Zeta, Jeanne D’Arc the Burned. Seventh is Fiend Eta, Stalin the Dictator.

At number eight is Fiend Theta, Sadist Elizabeth Báthory. Followed by Fiend Iota, Blackbeard, also known by the name of Edward Teach. The tenth is Fiend Kappa, Plunderer Attila the Hun.

The eleventh, and another fairly new addition Fiend Lambda, the Hyena of Auschwitz Irma, also known as Irma Grese, a particularly brutal Nazi. And the last two work as a pair, Fiend Mu, Pirate Anne Bonny and Fiend Nu, Pirate Mary Read.

There were many other tyrants, dictators and conquerers for whom I had high hopes for when they died, but unfortunately, they weren’t strong enough after I demonized and resurrected their souls in Hell.

Now, then, back to the matter at hand...she’s closing in faster and faster, and has killed at least a few dozen Demons in the process. I never imagined a human with this much power would ever appear. No matter, she’s hardly a threat to me...

I then tilted my head across as a Demon came flying towards me, zipping past me and crashing onto the building behind me. I glanced back, to see him turn to ash as he plummeted down.

"I’ll admit, I wasn’t expecting this. But there’s no mistaking that Aura...hey, you, the one who looks like a little boy. You’re Satan, right?" A voice called out.

I turned in that direction, narrowing my eyes as I met her gaze, unconscious Demons in each hand before their bodies burst and got torn apart with shadowy streaks.

She tossed them away as she broke their cores, glaring down at me as the Demons of Sin and the Thirteen Fiends stepped out in front of me.

And regarding what she said...yes, my appearance is that of a young boy. I am rather short, I have red hair and red eyes, a snaggle tooth on the upper left side of my mouth, black feathered wings, a black halo and twisted horns on either side of my forehead.

"You have some nerve, speaking to me like that. But I suppose I should commend you for making it this far...unfortunately for you, this is as far as you will get," I responded with a smirk, feeling a surge of excitement.

I am truly grateful that she is here...this should be a nice way to alleviate my boredom for the time being...
