Chapter 238: Chapter 237 - Invasion(Part 3)

"Wh-what...what is happening...?" A Devil gasped in agony, collapsing onto the ground, as did many of the others in the vicinity.
A few minutes ago, I suddenly found myself staring at the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Oh, and there were also a bunch of panicked, screaming people around me.
Some were injured, some were dead, and the rest were desperately scrambling away, with a handful fighting back, but in vain. That’s when I decided to step in.
A couple of weeks ago, I informed Lux about my idea to create light energy bombs to use against the invaders from Hell. And after I explained the process, she mulled it over and then surmised that releasing light energy into the air should work too.
She then figured out how to pull that off, before teaching it to me using Synchronicity. So, yeah, I just released a bunch of my light energy all around me, provoked the Devils and had them come towards me.
And after a few seconds of fighting them-...which was surprisingly easy, I was both stronger and faster than they were...-they began getting weaker and weaker, until this point, where they’ve all collapsed.
"Y-you...what have you done to us?" One of them gasped weakly, as I approached him.
"Who can say?" I shrugged, as I extended out a bone spike and pierced it through the middle of his head, pumping light energy directly into his body.
"N-no, stop...!" He began, before trailing off as a cracking sound echoed out from his chest, his body turning to ash.
Ah, so with enough light energy poisoning, their cores can shatter even without sustaining any direct or physical damage, huh? Good to know.
"There sure are a lot of you, aren’t there? Well, I’ve got more than enough energy for all of you, so don’t you worry," I remarked, as I approached another Devil.
"Stay away from me!" He exclaimed weakly, as he slowly raised his hand.
It began to morph into a different shape, before I pierced him with a bone spike and pumped him full of light energy, killing him before he could finish transforming his hand.
I then continued walking around and killing the Devils, a total of twenty-eight of them. Four of them had slightly denser Auras than the rest, but having been weakened by my light energy, they were equally as helpless as the others.
As I killed the last of the Devils in the area, I looked around as cheers began ringing out around me. Huh...this is kinda awkward, but also really nice. Especially since I probably look like shit right now. My hair’s a mess, my face is super scruffy and my clothes are pretty tattered and torn.
Hm, this might be a good opportunity to try and contact someone from Harmony. My phone died ages ago, but with all these people cheering for me, I’m sure there’s at least one of them who would be happy to let me borrow their phone to make a call...

"How goes the start of our invasion?" I inquired with a bored sigh.
Maybe I should have made the plan so that I would have at least some involvement in this. When the invasion began, myself, the Demons of Sin, the Thirteen Fiends and a handful of other Demons made our way out of the bridge and into the nation of Sri Lanka, where the bridge has been opened here in the living world.
I have enclosed us in a powerful barrier, even the Deities are unlikely to be able to break through it, at least not with any sense of ease.
The Demons of Sin are in my immediate vicinity, just outside of the massive portal bridging Hell and the living world together. The rest are scattered throughout the area, hunting down any humans that were unfortunate enough to end up within the bounds of the barrier.
Additionally, this barrier also works as an Anti-Teleportation Field, meaning that no one can teleport in or portal here. The only ones who can pass through the barrier are those from Hell.
But just sitting here and waiting is so boring. The plan is to let the Devils keep attacking until their numbers are cut down by a third or so. After which, they will retreat and regroup with us, and then attack again with the Demons in the vanguard.
Keeping track of everything that’s happening is too much work for me, so I assigned that task to another...
"For the most part, quite smoothly, my Lord," Responded Belphagor, who was keeping track of the battles breaking out all over the world.
He represents the Sin of Sloth, so giving him this tedious task may seem a bit cruel, but...I am the Demon Lord Satan, ruler of Hell, cruelty is my modus operandi.
"For the most part?" I prompted him with a raised eyebrow.
"Yes. We have scattered the Devils in groups of twenty to thirty all over the world, and the vast majority of those groups are cutting down any and all humans who fight back with relative ease. However...the groups who have found themselves near Deities, and a few certain humans as well, have been completely destroyed," He informed me.
"I thought my instructions were to avoid the locations of the Deities," I frowned icily.
"About that, my Lord...almost all of them were suddenly relocated the instant the invasion began. And given the scale of it...the most likely culprit is Laplace," He replied grimly.
"Tch, of course it is...it would appear that he does not intent to side with us this time. No matter, it’s a minor setback, casualties among the Devils is of little concern. And besides...the faster the Deities and humans cut down the Devils, the sooner our main force will enter the fray," I smirked in response.
Regarding how we are following everything that has been happening, well...Hell does have a decent level of technological advancements. Since we do not have the resources of the living world, we are, admittedly, inferior to the humans in that department, but given those limitations, I’d say we’ve done reasonably well for ourselves.
We have created communication devices that operate on dark energy, similar to what humans call ’walkie-talkies’. On a related note, whoever named those devices had terrible taste. Did a child with a mental disability name them or something?
We also have viewing devices that let us observe a video feed of live events. And we have been keeping up with what has been going on in the living world through contact with Chaos, as well as through humans who have formed contracts with Demons and Devils, resulting in those humans being possessed.
Accessing the internet through those humans has proved to be highly fruitful. And that is also one of the reasons why I have decided to spare any humans who surrender...I am quite intrigued by the inventions and innovation of the modern era, but all of those will disappear if every last human is killed.
I suppose I should not get too far ahead of myself...we have only just begun our invasion, there is still a lot to contend with. The Deities, certain humans, and Heaven’s intervention, whenever that may be...
"I can hardly wait for our turn to fight, it should quite fun to crush a few Deities," Grinned Belial eagerly.
He is the Sin of Wrath, and one of the three Fallen Angels in Hell. The other two being Lucifer and myself, of course. Speaking of Lucifer, he should be back soon.
I had him go inform Chaos that we have no need for their help in this invasion, that they are not a factor in our plans at all...that should anger them and prompt them to turn on us. Which will give us the opening we need to eliminate them.
"I do envy your positivity, even though you were soundly beaten by some of the Deities during our previous invasion. At any rate, I hope it lasts. You can be quite volatile when you engage in combat," Chimed in Leviathan, the Sin of Envy.
"Yes, well, that is-...hm?" Belial began to respond indignantly, before trailing off as a loud crash echoed out.
I stared in shock as shards of a section of the barrier I’d constructed rained down, a large breach having been created with a single attack. This barrier isn’t unbreakable, but even so, there should be no one in this world who could break through it so easily...
"Impossible...," Muttered Belphegor in disbelief.
"No way, someone actually broke through the barrier with just a single hit?" Added Beelzebub in bemusement.
And before anyone else could say anything, dozens of Demons suddenly appeared up in the air in the distance, by where the barrier had been broken through.
But they weren’t flying...no, they had been lifted up into the air...with shadowy streaks pierced through their bodies, several of them turning to ash as their cores broke...
