Chapter 237: Chapter 236 - Invasion(Part 2)

Point-of-View: Alexis Tucker

———————————————————————————

Where...where am I? I was in the middle of a nap, and then I felt a thud and found myself in the middle of some random city. It looks like I’m somewhere in Europe, maybe?

Oh, and there are nightmarish creatures attacking the people here. They have the same wings that the Demons of Sin do, and they all have horns too. And more than anything...they’re seriously ugly.

These must be Devils, which means that Hell has begun their invasion. And the one who brought me here must be Laplace, or maybe Chaos. My money’s on the former, since Chaos is unlikely to have known where I was.

I got on my feet with a sigh, feeling irritated...this has got to be the worst wake up call ever. I then activated Electric Coat and Reflex Shock at full power, as I let out a sleepy yawn.

Guess this is a good chance as any to test out how effective my training with the Thunderbird has been...as one of the Devils swooped down towards a young boy and his parents, the Devil’s tail turning into a long, jagged blade as it closed in on the family.

I then shot towards the Devil to its left, leaping forward as I closed in and grabbed the side of its head before it could respond and bursting an immense amount of lightning into its head.

The Devil’s head burst instantly, before I swiftly placed my hand over the stump of its neck and blasted lightning into it in an attempt to destroy its core. Sure enough, its body turned to ash and scattered away with the wind.

I then swung my leg out rapidly to my right as a Devil swooped down towards me, its hands turning into a hammer shape as it closed in on me. Thunderbird told me, Devils can’t use Skills or any such powers.

Instead, they each can form a weapon physically generated from their own bodies. They can also regenerate from any injuries so long as their cores are intact, but their cores are much larger and more brittle that the cores of Demons, and they heal a lot slower than Demons do, as well.

And due to the size of their cores, they can only move them around within their torsos, they can’t shift it to their limbs or head like the Demons can. And of course...they’re far weaker than the Demons.

As the Devil with the hammer hands began to swing them in towards me, I slammed my foot onto the middle of his chest and burst out a powerful blast of lightning, blowing away his entire chest and stomach, fragments of his core flying away as he turned to ash.

That wasn’t an immense amount of lightning in that attack, I simply compressed and expanded a small amount of lightning in a split second, creating a sort of electric shockwave.

Now, then...I zipped across at top speed towards a Devil who had cornered a small girl, his eyes widening in alarm as I closed in on him and began to raise his arm, but he was too slow as I slammed my fist through the middle of his torso, hitting the jackpot as I felt his core shatter upon impact.

As two more Devils flew towards me, I charged up lightning in my hand before taking aim and firing it at one of them. The Devil halted in alarm and just barely evaded it...right before I changed the trajectory of the blast and had it chase after him.

He was helpless to avoid it as it burst through his chest and destroyed his core, while the other Devil swooped down towards me. I smirked as I swung my arm down, and the same blast I’d used to kill the first Devil changed course once again and zipped towards the other Devil from behind.

He realized and reacted too late, as my attack struck his back and burst through his chest, his body turning to ash as my attack struck his core in the process.

"Th-thank you, miss," The young girl spoke up, tears running down her face as she tugged on the corner of my top.

Based on that accent, which I could barely understand...I think I must be in Scotland, or maybe Wales?

"Go find a place to hide, and don’t come out till it’s safe, got it?" I remarked firmly, as I glanced around me with a grimace.

Hm, looks like the remaining Devils have stopped attacking the people around here and are starting to surround me while staying airborne. As the little girl ran away, I took in a deep breath and slowly exhaled to steel myself.

"Give up, human! We have the advantage as you cannot fly!" Exclaimed one of the Devils, before opening his mouth wide and firing out a long, sharp spike in my direction.

I locked my gaze onto it, and as it closed in on me, I swiftly reached out and grabbed it, rapidly spinning my body to add more momentum to it and then threw it right back at the Devil with even more speed than it had been fired at me.

He began to evade in alarm, grimacing as it pierced and burst through his shoulder, blood pouring out before the wound began to slowly close up.

"You have the advantage because I can’t fly, huh? You should really check your facts before you make such a bold statement," I smirked, as lightning crackled all around me...before I began to rise up into the air.

Thunderbird taught me a pretty damn useful method of applying my powers...by controlling the electricity around me, I can fly and move around in the air with ease. Well, with ease now, it was pretty tough to get the hang of initially.

"Why, you-...!?" The Devil began to snarl, before I cut him off as I zipped towards him through the air at a rapid speed, grabbing the bottom of his jaw and the base of his neck as I close in on him and pulling with all my strength, tearing off his head before he could fire out another spike.

As another Devil flew towards me, I swiftly flung the headless body at it, and as the Devil halted and caught the body, I took aim and fired out a powerful, beam-like blast of lightning in that direction, the blast bursting through both the bodies and killing them instantly.

I glanced around at my surroundings, as lightning sparked and crackled around my body menacingly...there’s still a fair number of them left here, I count at least twenty. Still, though...they’re awfully weak...

"Alright, then...who’s next?" I inquired threateningly, as I cracked my knuckles with a smirk...

"Heyyyy, Lucy, it’s been way too long!" I grinned cheerfully.

"Do not call me that," He huffed in response.

About five minutes had passed since Satan opened the bridge between Hell and the living world, and just now, Lucifer showed up here to inform us that they had begun. Not that he needed to, it’s kinda majorly trending online.

"I must ask, why launch the attack with the weakest of your army, the Devils?" Inquired Dracula curiously. freewebnovёl.ƈom

"It is Lord Satan’s will. This way, we do not have to deal with any defiant weaklings who refuse to surrender to us," He pointed out in response.

That’s not a bad tactic, honestly...wear down the enemy with disposable pawns and then deal with the stronger ones afterwards, hopefully having weakened them with the foot soldiers.

"So, what are your numbers, by the way?" I asked him.

"Three hundred thousand Lesser Devils, and fifty thousand Superior Devils to lead them. After that, we will attack with over one hundred thousand Demons, led by us Demons of Sin and the Thirteen Fiends," He answered in reply.

"Damn, that’s a lot! But, is that, like, all of the Devils and Demons in Hell? Seems like kind of a small number," Chimed in Afro.

"Of course it is not the entirety of Hell. When humans have a war, does every citizen in the involved nations take up arms?" He reasoned objectively.

"Oh, well, when you put it that way...yeah, I guess that makes sense."

"So, what exactly are we expected to do?" Spoke up Wrest.

"You need not do anything. Or rather, you may do as you please, Chaos is not a factor in our plans, so you can do as you see fit," He shrugged indifferently, before adding, "Now, then, I have informed you of the situation, as a courtesy since we are allies. So long as you do not impede us in any way, that does not need to change."

With that, he turned and walked away, before flying out the window. Screams of pain and loud crashes were echoing out outside, where the Devils were running amok.

"My, that must sting quite a bit," Remarked Count Saint Germain, walking in from the next room, where he’d been hiding.

So, Hell hasn’t factored us into their plans, huh? Gotta say, I feel pretty insulted. I mean, I was fully aware that they’ve just been using us, since we’ve been doing the same with them, but still!

Hmph, just you wait, Satan...for that, I just might throw a wrench in your plans...

"Glenn? Where are you at?" I called out, as the gears in my head began spinning as I attempted to come up with a plan.

"Please, just leave me out of it," He sighed in exasperation.

"No can do!"
