"Mhm, that’s it, now focusing on stabilizing it. It won’t be fully active like this as it’s fluctuating too much," I instructed carefully.
"Okay, I’ll try...am I doing it right?" Responded Kiyana warily, taking it slow.
"Yeah, you’ve got it, keep doing that at your own pace. Slow and steady, no need to rush," I nodded encouragingly.
Today’s the 20th of October, and I was currently busy training Kiyana, as I had been for the past couple of months or so. Specifically, I was helping her improve on her healing capabilities using her Light Skill.
Which involved using Synchronicity to help her get a feel for it, and then using it for me to get a feel for how well she’s able to replicate what she feels from me.
The best part of doing that is that I can feel everything that she’s feeling, which is fun. I enjoy teasing her and stuff when I feel her heart racing or stomach rumbling or something like that.
And it doesn’t work both ways, since I can manipulate my own body, I can keep my heartbeat stable even when I’m feeling flustered. So, this training has benefited me as well, it’s helped me fine-tune my control over precision applications of my Light Skill healing abilities.
"I have to admit, I was feeling pretty hopeless about this when we first started. I could feel what you were doing, but I couldn’t comprehend how you were doing it. But you’re pretty good at breaking down the process and explaining it, taking it step by step has made it a lot more doable. You’re not a bad teacher," She remarked, as she slowly began to stabilize the light in her hand.
"Oh, uh, thanks. But honestly, this has actually helped me master my powers better too. Breaking it down into clear, detailed steps made me understand how it works a lot more intricately than I did before," I replied with a grin.
"You’ve become pretty amazing, you know that? Seriously, thanks for taking so much time to train me, I really appreciate it," She smiled in response.
Woah, close one, almost failed to keep my heart from beating faster just then. Better turn the tables...
"Mhm, you’re welcome. Maybe I deserve a reward for it?" I suggested with a teasing smirk.
"H-huh? Oh, uh, yeah...I suppose you do," She nodded, trying to play it cool, but I’m not fooled that easily.
At least, not while Synchronicity is active.
"Hm? Interesting, your heart began racing a bit and your blood pressure spiked for a moment...wonder why?" I mused with a mischievous side glance in her direction.
"Must have been your imagination," She shrugged, as she averted her gaze.
"Maybe so...but somehow, I’m skeptical," I responded, as I extended my pinky and lightly poked her cheek.
My left hand was on her right shoulder, since Synchronicity requires direct physical contact to be activated. That’s another perk of this training. Her shoulder is soft and smooth, it’s been a challenge to keep myself from giving it a bit of a squeeze every so often.
"Is that so?" She replied with a raised eyebrow, before letting out a sigh as the ball of light in her hand faded, "Okay, I think that might be it for today. Any more and I’ll struggle to keep everything I’ve learned today in mind."
"Yeah, you should focus on maintaining this current level until our next training session," I nodded in agreement, as I reluctantly took my hand off her shoulder.
I used to have pretty sweaty palms, but I’ve managed to fix that issue thanks to my powers, it’s made a huge difference. The last thing I’d want is to sweat all over her shoulder ever single time, that wouldn’t make for a good impression.
She’s pretty much moved here to this campsite, having gotten her own RV as well. She’s being considered for a promotion to Category 0, so she’s not being saddled with menial work anymore.
"Alright, I’ll head back to my RV and continue working on this," She remarked, as she stood and stretched her arms up, her back arching forward a bit.
"Mhm, you do that," I replied, as I decided to get back to experimenting on my lizard test subjects.
Let’s see what I can do now that I’ve learnt how to apply my powers more accurately and intricately, that should help me figure out how to best go about the next step for her training as well.
"Oh, and about that reward you mentioned...I think this should suffice," She suddenly spoke up from my left.
Hm? What’s she-...?
"Mmf...," I mumbled in bewilderment, as I turned and met her gaze from inches away, before her lips pressed onto mine.
H-huh?
"W-wait, I-...!" She began in alarm as she pulled back, her face turning red, "I-I was just trying to kiss you on the cheek, b-but you turned so suddenly...!"
"Oh, uh...sorry, my bad. To be fair, uh, it’s only natural that I’d turn to face you if you say something out of the blue," I muttered in reply, averting my gaze as I felt my face start to heat up, before quickly using my powers to calm myself down.
We’ve been spending a whole lot of time together lately, so I’m a lot more aware of her, and subsequently, I’ve gotten more attracted to her. I mean, I’ve always found her attractive, but that feeling’s grown a lot more recently.
That was the first time I’ve kissed someone on the lips, accident or not, but still, I’d usually probably be able to get past it without too much trouble, as it was an honest accident.
"N-no, that was at least half my fault, it wouldn’t have happened if I’d kept quiet," She responded, fidgeting as her gaze darted about, "Sorry about that."
"You don’t need to apologize. I mean...to be blunt, I found it kinda...pleasant," I admitted...crap, should I have kept that to myself?
"O-oh, really? Well, um...that’s good. I...I didn’t dislike it either," She replied quietly.
My heart is starting to race, but I don’t feel like getting it under control...maybe I can try being a bit bold, and take a risk...
"That’s...good to know. So, in that case...if you’re not opposed to it, uh...maybe we could...try that again?" I suggested, before feeling exasperated at myself almost immediately...damn it, that was so wishy-washy, I should’ve been more bold!
I definitely botched that, didn’t I?
"H-huh? Y-you mean, you want to...?" She trailed off, caught off guard, before meeting my gaze bashfully and nodding, "Okay, I...I’d like that..."
Or maybe I didn’t...is this for real, right now? If it is, I’m not letting this opportunity go to waste. I slowly reached out and placed my right hand on her cheek, cupping it gently.
She stiffened a bit upon contact, before relaxing and leaning into my touch, and then slowly closing her eyes and tilting her head slightly.
Holy crap, this is really happening...alright, here goes. After taking a moment to compose myself, I leaned in towards her, slowly pressing my lips onto hers, as she responded by parting her lips slightly and caressing my lips with hers.
I then pulled back as my heart began pounding, doing my best to keep my breathing from getting heavier, as she opened her eyes and met my gaze.
"Uh, was that okay?" I blurted out, unable to think of anything else to say.
Yeah, I’m putting out some real strong virgin energy right now, aren’t I?
"Mhm, yeah. But, well...don’t you think it was kinda short?" She responded in a slight whisper, unintentionally coming off as lethally seductive.
"O-oh, you thought so too, huh?"
"Yeah...I do."
"I think...I agree. So...what should we do about it?" I inquired with a gulp.
"We...we should try again, don’t you agree?" She suggested in reply.
"Yeah, I...I agree," I nodded, right before she cupped my face with her palms and kissed me again.
"Again?" She whispered after we pulled back in a few seconds.
"Mhm, sounds good..."
"Maybe I should get closer," She mumbled, before hopping onto my lap and placing her arms around my shoulders.
Her face is so red...and I imagine mine is too, I can’t focus nearly enough to use my powers with any real precision.
As we kissed again, we started to get more fervent and passionate, as I placed an arm around her waist and pulled her closer to me.
This time, we didn’t pull back until we needed to catch our breath, staring into each other’s eyes as we inhaled and exhaled sharply.
"Maybe one more?" I suggested, struggling to contain myself.
"Um...just one?" She responded with a slight tilt of her head.
She’s killing me here...
"Uh, then maybe two or three more?"
"Or...we could just keep going with the flow and see how things turn out?" She leaned in and whispered into my ear, sending shivers down my spine.
"Yeah...yeah, that sounds really good..."
