Chapter 197: Chapter 196 - Vapora(Part 3)
Point-of-View: Fenris Hunt
———————————————————————————
Huh? No...no way, this can’t be real. There’s absolutely no way she’s dead...there’s just no way. She’s stronger than any of us, she’s unbeatable...right?
"No, this...this can’t be happening...," Muttered Alexis in shock, tears welling up in her eyes as she stared at Aurora’s body, blood pooling around it as she lay on the ground lifelessly.
"Shit, damn it...damn it...," Mumbled Inoka in distress as he clenched his fists, while Zoraiz couldn’t say a word, only able to stare silently in horror and disbelief.
"One down...plenty more to go. Which of you shall I kill next?" Remarked Vapora, as she swung her claws down towards us.
I couldn’t move, I was completely stunned and shell-shocked...as the Dragon’s claws came slashing down towards us...they suddenly disappeared.
She let out a startled cry as her claws re-emerged behind her back and struck the fin on her back, drawing out blood as she sliced through her own scales.
"All of you, stay where you are!" Suddenly came Neo’s voice, "We’re getting out of here-...argh!"
The Dragon slammed her foot in his direction, sending a powerful shockwave bursting out towards him, as she draw back her claws before he could close the portal and slice them off.
He got sent flying back and slamming onto the wall of a building, collapsing onto his knees in pain, barely conscious.
"Another one? Grrr, it does not matter, I shall tear you all apart, none of you will leave here alive!" Snapped the Dragon.
I couldn’t tear my eyes off her, as I felt something welling up inside me...pure rage and fury, like I’d never felt before, as everything suddenly went red...

Point-of-View: Inoka Fonseka

This is really bad...Neo can’t even stand, he looks like he’s on the verge of passing out. And everyone else is frozen in fear...come on, damn it, I need to do something, I might be the only one who can do any damage to the Dragon at this point! Come on-...huh?
Suddenly, a crimson red blur rapidly zipped across in my peripheral towards Vapora, right before the Dragon let out a grunt of pain as it struck the bottom of her jaw with immense force.
And then, a loud, pained roar echoed out as her right eye was sliced through, blood pouring out as the red blur zipped across it.
Huh? Is that...Fenris? His raven black fur had turned into a dark, crimson red, as had his eyes. A deafening howl echoed out from his jaws as he repeatedly slashed at her neck at a blinding speed, cuts appearing across her scales in the blink of an eye.
She let out a snarl as she tried to grab him, before he placed his feet on her neck and launched himself off it towards the ground, before abruptly vanishing from sight the instant he landed, Vapora stumbling off to her left as he struck her right side, a slash appearing across her scales.
I then snapped out of it and raced over towards Aurora as fast as I could, kneeling down beside her and placing my hand on her and trying to heal her in desperation...come on, damn it, don’t be dead!
I glanced over towards the Dragon as I frantically tried to heal Aurora, to see Fenris continue to zip around her and strike her over and over...but something was off about him.
It’s not just that he’s attacking in a rage...there’s something more, it’s as if he’s a completely different person, or rather, like a feral beast. This red form...has it made him lose complete control?
Suddenly, as he sprang up behind her and began to fire out slashes from his claws, Vapora managed to lock her gaze onto him with her remaining eye and whipped her tail towards him.
Her tail struck his right side and sent him flying across and crashing into a window, falling into the building as shard of glass rained down and hit the pavement, shattering.
"I-impossible, a Crimson Werewolf? But how?" Growled Vapora, as she formed ice around her destroyed eye, "No matter...that one had no control over itself."
"Hey, is she okay!?" Exclaimed Alexis, as she ran over towards me with Zoraiz.
"I...I’ve done everything I can, but it’s just too l-...," I began with a frustrated grimace, before trailing off in surprise. freeweɓnovel.cøm
Huh? Her body...it’s healing on its own. Her arm’s growing back too. Suddenly, she began to rise up, as the gaping hole in her torso rapidly closed up, before I suddenly found myself on the ground as a devastating Aura unleashed from her.
I...I can’t move. My eyes then widened as I recalled...Bastet, he mentioned a resurrection ability as part of her Aberration Skill. In my panic, I completely forgot about that.
Did me trying to heal her prevent it from activating sooner? Her body began regenerating the instant I stopped healing her...
"She’s...she’s alive...," Zoraiz stuttered, as he struggled to get up, all of us pushed down by her immense Aura pressure.
"What!? This cannot be...I already killed you!" Snarled Vapora, as she rapidly flew this way.
In the blink of an eye, a dark shadowy streak wrapped around me and the others and pulled us away, placing us down several meters away, as the Dragon closed in on Aurora and drove her claws towards her again.
Aurora didn’t move a muscle, slowly raising her right arm as her hand and fingers grew back, blocking the claw with her palm and abruptly the halting the Dragon’s attack, just like that.
"Who the hell do you think you are? An overgrown lizard has no business killing me," Remarked Aurora icily, as she suddenly swung the Dragon away, flinging it away several meters with immense force.
The Dragon crashed onto the ground and skidded away several meters, as Aurora then disappeared from sight and appeared right above Vapora, whose eye widened in alarm and disbelief.
I can barely keep up with Aurora’s movements, I’m using my Light Skill to drastically enhance my eyesight to a dangerous extent, my mind struggling to keep up with the amount of information my sight was capturing.
Aurora then kicked off the air and zipped down, slamming her feet onto the Dragon’s midsection, a loud crunch echoing out upon impact, eliciting a sharp gasp of pain from the massive Deity.
She then zipped across and leapt towards the Dragon’s head, balling her fists together and slamming them onto the spot by her blinded eye, shattering the ice around it as a shockwave burst out upon impact.
The Dragon began to reach for her using her claws, but she was far too slow, as Aurora zipped away, grabbed her tail and rapidly spun her around, before throwing her high up into the air.
Vapora tried to regain her bearings by spreading out her wings, before her eye widened with a look of fear as Aurora appeared right in front of her, having leapt up into the air after her.
Dark energy swirled around her fist as she drove it straight towards the Dragon’s chest, the windows of the nearby buildings shattering as she slammed her fist onto Vapora, sending her zipping through the air at a breakneck speed.
Aurora then kicked off the air again, chasing after the Dragon and spinning her body across rapidly as she closed in, whipping her heel down towards the side of her neck, striking it with a devastating impact and sending the Dragon rapidly plummeting towards the ground...before abruptly halting right before she hit the ground as Aurora sent a streak of Dark energy zipping after Vapora and wrapping around her torso.
The snap of the whiplash caused several of the scales on her back to break and snap off, as Aurora kicked off the air to shoot herself straight down while simultaneously yanking the Dragon up towards her.
She let out a loud, animalistic roar as she closed in and slammed her fist onto Vapora’s stomach, her fist bursting through the scales and hide of the Dragon and eliciting a cry of agony from it, before she violently pulled her arm back out with a twist and sprang back, backing away several meters as the Dragon crashed onto the ground.
"Incredible...it was brief, but upon resurrection, her power spiked drastically and temporarily, to an extent enough to overpower a Dragon Deity," Suddenly came Bastet’s voice from beside me, startling me, as Aurora shook the Dragon’s blood off her arm, "It would seem that it has worn off already, but Vapora is severely weakened now."
"Wha-...where’d you come from!?" Exclaimed Zoraiz in surprise.
"And where have you been this whole time?" Frowned Alexis indignantly.
"I did say I would not fight another Deity, did I not? After I dealt with the remaining Monsters, I simply observed from a safe distance," Was the response.
"A little help would’ve been nice, all the same," I sighed wryly, as I reverted my eyesight back to normal, my head pounding and feeling dazed.
I had to improve my eyesight so much that I nearly overloaded my brain, and even with that, I could still just barely keep up with that fight.
"Im...impossible. How...can a human have...this much power...?" Gasped Vapora, as she shakily began to get up.
"You should leave, while you still can. You’re welcome to kill me again...but I’ll just come back even stronger, and this time, I’ll rip your fucking head off," Responded Aurora in a cold, threatening tone.
"What...what are you?"
"Like you said, I’m human. Now, leave, while you still can. Oh. and make sure to tell the other Deities...that they shouldn’t make enemies of humans. Or, as you’ve found out, they just might regret it..."
