"Th-those...those damned idiots!" I exclaimed in exasperation and disbelief, unable to believe my eyes, as I stared at the live stream of the Outliers fighting the Aqua Dragon Deity, Vapora.
"Woah, holy shit, they just broke its leg!" Exclaimed Leonardo, wide-eyed.
"Side note, based on how still this live stream is, despite the presence of such a terrifying creature, I think it’s safe to say that the owner of the phone that’s streaming this is either dead or dropped their phone while running away. I’m willing to bet it’s the former," Surmised Kechik indifferently.
"Ugh, you’re always so morbid and pessimistic, what’s the matter with you?" Sighed Elise in exasperation.
"Aren’t you going to go help them?" Carmen asked me with a raised eyebrow.
"Yeah, I should," I nodded grimly, as I opened a portal.
"Hold on. If they actually manage to kill or severely injure a Deity, that might prompt the other Deities to think twice about causing human collateral damage," Pointed out Kechik with a shrug.
"Or it could end up pissing them off and spur them on to be even more aggressive in their attacks, deliberately targeting people," Countered Leonardo with a frown.
"And the longer it goes on for, the more likely it is that one or more of the Outliers will be killed," Added Carmen in agreement.
"I don’t see the problem with that," Responded Kechik with a huff.
"Wow, no wonder you don’t have any friends," Muttered Elise apprehensively.
"Alright, I’m going. Anyone want to tag along?" I inquired, looking around at them.
"I would, but I’m pretty low on Aura right now, I doubt I can be much help, especially against a Deity," Replied Leonardo with a shake of his head.
"And I have to deal with the aftermath here," Remarked Carmen apologetically.
"I couldn’t be bothered, if they die, they die," Came Kechik’s response.

"And, uh, I’m tired," Said Elise, averting her gaze sheepishly.
Idiot.
"Alright, fine, then...guess I’m going it alone," I sighed in exasperation, as I headed into the portal, emerging in an alley near the street where the battle was taking place.
Okay, the moment I get an opening, I’ll portal all of them back to the campsite, and away from this beast. Let’s see how the battle’s going, hopefully-...my train of thought cut off as my eyes widened in horror and disbelief, as I caught sight of what was happening out in front of me...

As the Dragon roared in pain deafeningly, I formed masses of Dark energy around my ears, to avoid being overwhelmed by the noise, before swiftly backing away and regrouping with the others. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
"That sounds like it really hurts, but I’m pretty sure all we’ve really done is piss it off," Frowned X warily.
"Looks like all the surviving people around have gotten away already. Isn’t it high time we leave?" Suggested Zoraiz in response.
Before any of us could reply, a loud, booming voice echoed out...
"You damned humans! How dare you attack me!?" Roared the Dragon furiously, narrowing its gaze towards us menacingly.
Its voice sounds feminine, guess it’s a she. And she looks pissed. I didn’t exactly take the time to get a good look before, but I can’t help but notice that her appearance is both majestic and terrifying.
She was about fifty meters tall or so, with dark blue scales across her back and limbs, and light blue scales around her stomach and chest. Her eyes were dark blue, and she had two short, straight horns on the back of her head.
She’d spread out her wings and flown up after I broke her left leg, and she had foldable fins across her back, forearms and at the end of her tail. There’s ice forming around the spot on her leg that I broke...she must be trying to numb the pain and stop the bleeding.
She looks furious, and like she’s about to attack at any given moment...I better try and talk her down, hopefully try to come to a peaceful resolution...
"We only attacked you because you’re killing so many people! We appreciate you destroying the Monsters, but you and the other Deities have killed millions of humans!" I exclaimed loudly, as she began to charge up a water blast in her jaws.
Where did Bastet go? Is he hiding? I don’t see any more Monsters around, and since two Deities are present, I doubt any more will show up. But, uh, that might be least of our concerns right now.
"And what of it? The state of the world has severely degraded...the air is unclean, the water is polluted, many of the animals that once roamed the planet are no more. And it has become clear that humans are the cause, there are far too many of you, billions more than there were the last time I was awake.
Do not misunderstand me, I have no intention of killing you humans despite all of that, despite your excessive numbers. But nor do I have any intention of overlooking the presences of Monster simply because humans happen to be in the same area," Came the response, before adding, "However...as you have attacked me, I shall not spare any of you! I am the Aqua Dragon, Vapora, and you will all die by my hand!"
"Incoming!" Exclaimed Alexis in alarm, as Vapora fired out a massive steam blast from her jaws.
It abruptly dissipated as X activated her Nullification, before we all scattered in several directions. I can maintain my Dark Cheetah form for only a few more seconds, I have to make it count!
I fired out several Negative Blasts and Slashes at Vapora to get her attention focused onto me, but she swiftly flew out of the way and evaded my attacks, before zipping towards me at an incredible speed.
Her tail came whipping towards me rapidly as she closed in on me, which I just barely evaded as I sprang back in alarm, her tail slamming onto the street with immense force and sending several chunks of rubble flying towards me.
I quickly batted them away by extending out shadowy streaks from the dark spots across my skin, a couple of them grazing my skin but I managed to avoid taking any direct hits.
Suddenly, several attacks struck her from behind, a lightning bolt from Alexis, Adelmira’s Piercing Water Beam, a Light blast fired by Inoka, Fenris’s claw slashes and a large chunk of concrete flung by Zoraiz.
But they hardly did any real damage, only angering Vapora as she let out a snarl and turned around towards them, flying towards them rapidly.
Oh, no, I can let her catch up to them! I chased after her at top speed in desperation, but she was too fast...damn it, she’ll kill them, I have to do something!
"Hey, use Switch to get me in front of her, NOW!" I yelled at Dieter, as I spotted him in my peripheral.
"Huh? But-...!"
"Just shut up and do it!"
In the next instant, I found myself in front of the others who’d attacked the Dragon, starting to run away but they were too slow to get away from her in time.
I grimaced and formed several layers of defensive Dark energy around myself as Vapora closed in in an instant, driving her claws towards me, as I simultaneously charged up a massive Negative Blast as fast as I could.
I began to fire out the blast I’d charged up in the instant her claws struck my defensive barriers-...but the next thing I knew, an immense pain burst out across my torso, as shattered dark shards appeared all around me, my Dark energy defense broken through in the blink of an eye with ease.
Blood poured out of my mouth as I let out a sharp gasp of agony, my vision blurring and my ears ringing as I slowly looked down, to see one of her claws pierced through my lower chest and stomach, and another of her claws having torn off my right arm.
I could hear the others’ voices ringing out around me, but I couldn’t make out what they were saying at all. My vision was starting to darken, my hearing fading, the pain starting to dull as I felt my body rapidly weakening.
I...I can’t move. My body...feels so heavy...it...it hurts. The last thing I felt was the claw pierced through my torso being pulled out, my blood bursting and gushing out of my body as everything went dark...
