Chapter 198: Chapter 197 - Abnormal
Point-of-View: X

What...what just happened? Aurora was killed, and then Fenris went berserk until he was smacked away, Aurora then came back to life, and...I don’t know what exactly happened in the next few seconds, I was brought to my knees by the most immense Aura pressure I’ve ever felt and was unable to get up, a whole lot of shockwaves burst out, so I couldn’t exactly focus.
And by the time they all settled and that Aura got less intense, the Dragon Deity was on the ground, badly injured. It had only been a matter of seconds since Aurora resurrected, that’s all the time she needed to subdue Vapora. And now, she’s flying away.
"Holy shit. Did all that really just happen?" Muttered Miraliz in bemusement.
"I barely even saw any of it," Responded Petra in shock.
"Same here, it was nothing more than a blur to me," Nodded Dieter in agreement.
"I still can’t believe it, Aurora actually made a Dragon Deity retreat in defeat. That’s pretty damn incredible," I remarked incredulously.
And looking at her while using Appraisal, it’s clear that her Aura has grown more dense than it was before. Still...it was even more intense in the few seconds following her resurrection.
It looks like Inoka’s healing Neo, while Aurora is heading up into that building to retrieve Fenris. All things considered, I’m pretty luck to have come out of this unscathed.
"Hey, you guys all okay?" Inquired Zoraiz, as he walked over with Alexis. freewebnσvel.cøm
"Mhm, none of us got hurt or anything," Nodded Miraliz in response.
"Hey, so, does Aurora really have nine lives like Bastet said?" Dieter asked Alexis curiously.
"Yeah, that seems to be the ca-...wait, how do you know about that, you weren’t there when Bastet spoke about it," She replied in confusion.
"We heard about it from Miraliz afterwards," Petra informed her.
A portal then opened up, and the others walked through, Fenris looking kinda dazed while Neo had a sour expression on his face as he emerged.
"Okay, let me just start by saying...the hell is wrong with you idiots!?" He exclaimed in exasperation. freeweɓnøvel.com
"No offense, but you became useless, like, five seconds after you got here," I pointed out wryly.
"Don’t sass me. Seriously, what were you guys thinking? Picking a fight with a Dragon Deity, how stupid are you, you’re all lucky to be alive!"
"Technically, I died," Spoke up Aurora sheepishly.
"Exactly, thanks for proving my point. If that had been anyone else, they’d be dead for good right now!" He snapped with a grimace.
"It all worked out in the end, and hopefully the number of casualties caused by the Deities will start to drop now," Remarked Inoka objectively.
"Or this might prompt them to become even more aggressive," Neo countered with a sigh.
"No, it is highly unlikely that the other Deities will target humans. Some of them, such as the Light Dragon, Lux, are fond of humans," Chimed in Bastet.
"Well, yeah, the Light Dragon is one of the few that haven’t inflicted so much as a single human casualty so far, at least not directly," Replied Neo with a nod, "But there are other Deities that are more aggressive, and might not take kindly to what happened here."
"What about you, what’s your stance?" Alexis asked Bastet curiously.
"Ordinarily, I would be indifferent. However, as I am currently relying on your assistance in locating and eliminating that human who brought Monsters and Demons to my former place of residence, in deference to that, I shall take care not to kill humans when I eliminate Monsters," He responded, before getting distracted as his nose twitched and he wandered over to a nearby corpse with a backpack.
"Well, that’s good, at least," Sighed Neo wearily.
"Uh, what are you doing?" Inquired Zoraiz in bewilderment, as Bastet tore open the backpack.
"I caught whiff of a rather alluring scent," Came the reply, as the Deity pulled out a pack of dry cat food.
"I don’t think I’ve ever seen you eat, kitty cat Deity, do you need food?" I asked him.
"No, we Deities can sustain ourselves by absorbing natural energy from the air and our surroundings. However, food can sustain us as well," He explained, as he tore open the bag and poured some of the cat food into his mouth, "Oh, my, this is quite good, and the crunch is rather pleasing."
"Alright, we should get out of here. I’ll clean up the Monster corpses, drop them into a volcano or something, and I’ll take you all back to the campsite afterwards," Remarked Neo, as he wandered away towards a nearby pile of Monster corpses.
"Hey, so, uh...what exactly happened? I don’t really remember anything after the Dragon stabbed Aurora with her claws," Frowned Fenris, his forehead scrunched up.
Huh? He really doesn’t remember?
"Seriously? You forgot? Your fur turned all red and you got super fast, though you were attacking pretty wildly," Inoka informed him.
"You are what is known as a Crimson Werewolf. A rare breed of Werewolf that is supposed to be extinct. Unlike regular Werwolves, Crimson Werewolves do not live in packs, tending to be more individualistic.
Even at the peak of their population, there were never more than a few hundred Crimson Werewolves, but the strongest of them were on par with Deities such as myself. However, I was under the impression that they were extinct centuries ago, killed during Satan’s last invasion of the living world.
However, there is something different about you...your scent is not quite the same as the Crimson Werewolves I have previously encountered. And all of them always had red fur at all times. But you usually have black fur," Mused Bastet in fascination, "Perhaps you are some sort of a new, abnormal breed?"
"Hey, can’t you just say unique instead of abnormal?" He sighed in response.
"Come to think of it, Vapora mentioned something about a Crimson Werewolf too," Recalled Zoraiz.
"Yeah, she said it was impossible or something," Nodded Alexis after thinking back to it.
"And clearly, that form was triggered by rage," Surmised Inoka after mulling it over.
"A blinding rage, since he doesn’t remember anything," I pointed out.
"Weird...I mean, it’s not like I’ve never been angry before, but I’m pretty sure this has never happened," Replied Fenris in bemusment.
"Perhaps an immense amount of rage is required. As I recall, Crimson Werwolves were far less docile that regular Werewolves, and would attack more fiercely when enraged, although I do not remember any being quite as feral as you were," Mused Bastet with a look of intrigue.
"Well, that’s not concerning at all," Muttered Fenris warily.
"Alright, I’m done cleaning up the area of Monster corpses. Let’s head back to the campsite," Remarked Neo, as he walked back over.
"Sounds good to me. The scent of blood is a bit overwhelming. And, uh, I want to get changed," Replied Aurora, self-consciously tugging down on her top, which had a wide tear across the middle of her torso, where the Dragon’s claw had pierced her, exposing her underboobs slightly.
And I’d noticed some of the guys, specifically Fenris, Inoka and Zoraiz, sneaking glances at her partially exposed chest multiple times. Can’t exactly blame them though, she’s got a pretty nice set up there.
Neo then opened up a portal, and we headed into it, emerging back at the campsite. Man, that was seriously terrifying...here’s hoping I never have to face a Dragon ever again, or any Deity, for that matter...

"Damn...wish we could’ve seen more, the phones that were live streaming must have gotten blown away," Sighed Afro in disappointment.
"Yeah, too bad...but the little that we did see was pretty incredible. Aurora definitely died back there...but she then came back. All the live streams in that area cut out shortly after that," I responded, before adding, "But not to worry...let’s find out what happened next."
"Hurry it up, come on, play it!" Exclaimed Afro impatiently.
The instant that the live streams ended, I had Glenn head there himself and record the battle, much to his chagrin.
"Calm down, and stop crowding me," He sighed in exasperation, as we gathered around him, "And just so you know, I couldn’t actually follow any of it, so don’t blame me if it isn’t clear."
"Yeah, yeah, whatever, just play it," Responded Wrest, giving his shoulder a shake.
Glenn then opened his gallery and played the video he’d recorded, and...wow, he wasn’t kidding about it not being clear.
But what was clear was that the Dragon Deity was being thrown around like a ragdoll, faster that he could keep up with the recording.
And then, finally, all the high speed action faded, the Dragon clearly badly injured as a result of it. Her chest was bleeding profusely, as she had several spots where her scales had been severely broken.
"Im...impossible. How...can a human have...this much power...?" Remarked the Dragon in a pained tone.
"You should leave, while you still can. You’re welcome to kill me again...but I’ll just come back even stronger, and this time, I’ll rip your fucking head off," Stated Aurora threateningly.
Damn, that was chilling.
"What...what are you?" Responded the Dragon, as a trickle of blood ran down the corner of her jaws.
"Like you said, I’m human. Now, leave, while you still can. Oh, and make sure to tell the other Deities...they shouldn’t make enemies of humans. Or as you’ve found out, they just might regret it..."
Wow.
"Holy crap, she’s a total badass," Remarked Afro wide-eyed.
Heh, yeah, she really is...things are starting to get pretty interesting...
