Chapter 156: Chapter 155 - In The Heart of Eden(Part 2)

"Oh, wow...uh, now there’s a sight you don’t see everyday," Remarked Miraliz, wide-eyed.
As Neo dropped her and I into a portal and back to the Harmony Outlier campsite, we were met with the sight of Petra and Dieter fervently making out. And they clearly don’t seem to care about the fact that they have an audience. frёewebηovel.cѳm
"This is, uh...this is really weird...we should all probably stop staring," Spoke up Zoraiz, as the wet smacking sounds of them kissing echoed out.
"Yeah, probably...am I crazy in saying that this is weirdly hot?" Added Alexis in bemusement.
No, I’m kinda feeling that too. I haven’t hooked up with someone in ages though, so that could be a part of it.
"Damn, guess Game of Thrones was more realistic than I thought," Chimed in Fenris.
"Anyway, uh...this is Adelmira, guys, the Aqua Skill Outlier," I said to them, trying to change to subject.
"Oh, hey, nice to meet you," Replied Zoraiz politely.
"What he said," Added Fenris.
"Yeah, welcome to our campsite," Nodded Alexis with a friendly smile, but their attention was still on the incestuous twins, who were completely ignoring all of us.
"Uh, thanks, nice to meet you guys," Responded Miraliz, who was also distracted by the intense makeout session.
"Okay, uh, I think I’m gonna leave...this is getting uncomfortable," Remarked Fenris, as it started to get more and more awkward.
"Hey, wanna go take a shower? No offense, but you kinda smell like you haven’t taken one for a few days," I said to Miraliz wryly.
"...well, now that you said that, I pretty much have to, don’t I?" She sighed in response.
"Come on, follow me, you can take one in my RV and get changed. My clothes might be a little bit big for you, but they should fit well enough," I replied with a grin, as I led her away from the scene.
Zoraiz and Alexis followed suit and headed back to their RVs as well, leaving Petra and Dieter alone and continue making out without an audience.
"I just hope they don’t start going further while still out here," Muttered Miraliz, as the two of them began running their hands all over each other.
Yeah, that’d be going too far...
"Hey, if you two want to start undressing or whatever, go somewhere where you can’t be seen!" I called out to them...they didn’t respond though, I’m not even sure they heard me.
Well, it has been a long time since they last saw each other, guess they couldn’t hold themselves back. I just hope it doesn’t become a regular thing, at least not publicly like this.
Hm, on another note, I wonder how Harmony’s mission is going? I really hope they manage to kill everyone in that hideout...they may be outnumbered by a lot, but they’ve got the element of surprise on their side, so the odds aren’t too heavily stacked against them...

"I hear footsteps approaching from either side in the fork up ahead...I will take the left, and you take the right," Instructed Elise, as we shot down a steep, sloped corridor.
"Alright, got it," I replied with a nod.
As a man appeared from the right fork, I closed in on him before he could react and placed my hand on his chest, and had spikes extend inward from his ribs and pierce his heart and lungs, before bursting out bone spikes from his spine to skewer the two others behind him.
I then glanced to the left, to see Elise having frozen four Meta-Humans to death in an instant, before giving one of them a firm tap and shattering him.
"Oh, nicely done, so this is the Light Skill technique you created, is it?" She remarked in fascination, giving me a nod of approval.
"Thanks a lot...you did great too, that’s a pretty terrifying technique," I grinned wryly.
"Thank you! It is called Death Freeze, all it requires is a touch," She replied as she puffed her chest out, looking proud of herself.
"By the way, I have a question...Neo said he was bringing in a few hundred reinforcements. How exactly are we supposed to tell the difference between them and the Eden Meta-Humans?" I asked her.
"Oh, that is simple, all of them will be wearing red bands around their necks, which is quite difficult to remove, so it will be unlikely that any Eden Meta-Humans will be able to take one off and put it on themselves to trick us. The few of us that initially infiltrated are very recognizable to the other Meta-Humans of Harmony, so there was no need for us to wear the bands," She explained in response.
"...you know, Neo kept repeating the same parts of the plan over and over, but he forgot to mention certain other details to some of us," I sighed in exasperation.
"Well, it is understandable, once that young Outlier mastered Thought Communication, we did rush into this so as to not waste any time," She pointed out objectively.
I mean, I guess that makes sense, but still. Would’ve been nice to have known all the specifics.
"Alright, let’s keep going, then. We’re still a long way off from completing this mission," I remarked with a frown.
"Oui, there is no time to waste," She nodded in agreement, before leading the way as I followed after her.
Have to say, it’s kinda difficult to not get distracted...she was wearing some pretty tight shorts, and it was quite a sight. Okay, I need to ignore it, dying because I was perving out would be a terrible way to go.
Suddenly, as we turned a corner, the wall to our left burst out, Elise quickly managing to raise a wall of ice before the rubble could strike us, cracks appearing in her ice wall but it remained intact.
"Thanks, that was close," I said to her, as I flung an orb of light into the dust cloud, illuminating it and revealing the person who caused the explosion.
It was a woman, she looked like she was in her late-thirties, with long, light blonde hair styled in drill-like ringlets, yellow eyes and a haughty look on her face. She had a hand fan with sharp blades on the end of it, and a disdainful look on her face.
"Careful, she is a Category 0...stay behind me and back me up," Instructed Elise warily, as she shattered her ice wall and formed a pair of ice blades in each hand, as I formed a swirling Light Blast and took aim.
"Hmph, I thought I smelled some rats, but it’s just some insects, I see," Scoffed the woman, as she formed wind around her fan and swung it across, firing out several wind slashes at us.
Elise quickly formed several blocks of ice in the air between them, which absorbed the slashes and shattered, before she shot towards the woman and slashed one of her ice blades at her head.
She ducked under the slash and whipped her fan across at Elise’s midsection, aiming to slice her stomach open, but Elise just barely managed to spring back and avoid it with sustaining just a small scratch, and the instant she jumped back, I fired my charged up Light Blast at the Eden woman, who coated her fan with wind and batted my blast away effortlessly.
"Not to bad, for an old lady," I smirked, in an effort to provoke her.
"You little insect...! I am Mona Young, one of the strongest members of Eden, don’t you mock me!" She snapped in anger.
"Wait, you last name is ’Young’? Heh, maybe you should change it to ’Old’ or ’Decrepit’," I scoffed condescendingly.
"I’ll kill you!" She snarled, as she blasted out a powerful wind blast and sent Elise flying away and slamming onto a wall with a gasp of pain, before closing in on me too quickly for me to react in time.
I let out a stifled cry of pain as she plunged the blades of her fan into my stomach with a violent twist, grabbing my throat and slamming me onto the wall behind me with immense force, cracks spreading out from the point of impact as I felt several fractures all over my body.
Damn, she’s strong...and this really hurts like hell. She’s twisting her fan over and over, scrambling the organs in the lower part of my torso excruciatingly.
"Ow...," I gasped in agony, my vision blurring as blood poured out of my mouth.
"Well? Do you have anything left to say, you worm?" She laughed gleefully, before a dark look appeared in her eyes, "You will now die an extremely painful death, you had best get your last words out while you still can."
"You...you should...," I gasped, as I struggled to get the words out.
"Hm? What is it? Speak up, I can’t hear you!" She chuckled in amusement.
Heh, I’ve always wanted to say this...
"You should’ve...," I grunted, before smirking as I placed a hand on her arm, "You should’ve gone for the head."
Having channeled my inner Thanos, I elicited a sharp scream of pain from her as I had her bones pierce into all of her organs, her grip around my throat weakening before she let go and stumbled back, coughing out blood as she clutched her body in agony.
"Wh-what...what is this, what the hell did you do to me!?" She cried, collapsing onto her knees as blood gushed out of her mouth and nostrils, right before a blade of ice whipped across and decapitated her, Elise standing by her body with a grimace, a trickle of blood running down the side of her head.
Sweet...I just helped kill a Category 0. And all I needed to pull it off was her own arrogance and the fact that she didn’t know what I was capable of. Yup, just as planned-...no, who am I kidding, this hurts like hell, damn it, fucking owww!
I feel like I’m about to pass out...I’m healing myself as fast as I can, and I’m using Alleviate to dull the pain as much as possible, but this is still pure agony! Note to self, never use a self-sacrificing strategy like this ever again...
