Chapter 136: Chapter 135 - Battle at the Lotus Tower(Part 6)

Point-of-View: X

———————————————————————————

Damn it, she’s really tough...her face looks all timid and stuff, but she seriously knows what she’s doing. Not having the use of her powers hasn’t even fazed her.

I’m just about keeping pace, but she’s definitely got the upper hand right now. At this rate, it’s only a matter of time before I lose.

Suddenly, a bright-...and somehow, also dark...-light burst out from the alleyway, before the guy in the suit came flying out and slammed onto a lamp post, right as Trevor suddenly came flying out too...with his left arm missing, and several painful looking redish black patches all over his skin.

"Oh, crap, are they dead? Maybe that one was a bit too powerful," Came a distorted voice, as Anarchy then emerged from the dust cloud that had risen up in the alley.

Looks like they’re just unconscious, but they probably won’t be getting up again any time soon...

"What did you just do?" Frowned the woman I’d been fighting.

"Aw, come on, don’t glare at me like that, Kiyana. You’re gonna hurt my feelings," Responded Anarchy, sounding amused.

Oh, so her name’s Kiyana.

"Hey, you, what do you say we team up and take this bastard out? You know, the whole enemy of my enemy thing," I suggested warily.

"Hm...a tempting offer, but I can’t trust you," She replied after a brief pause, keeping a cautious eye on Anarchy.

"It’s cool, take your time deciding how you wanna do this, I’ll wait," Anarchy spoke up with a wave of their hand.

Man, their attitude pisses me off.

"In that case, how about we agree to not attack each other until we take them down? I’d rather not have to deal with them alone," I remarked sheepishly.

"Fine, do whatever you want," She responded, as she shot towards Anarchy rapidly.

"Oh, we’re getting started already? Alright, then, come at me!" Stated Anarchy enthusiastically, evading as Kiyana closed in on her and swung her foot up at their head.

As Anarchy sprang back to evade the kick, I swiftly flung out a dagger, which whizzed past the side of Kiyana’s neck and straight at Anarchy, who narrowly tilted their head out of the way to evade it.

I then raced across as Kiyana closed in on Anarchy again and swung her fists at them rapidly and repeatedly, the latter managing to deflect her punches, before she grabbed their wrists and swung her knee right up at them and slammed it onto their midsection, eliciting a distorted gasp of pain from them.

I shot towards them from their right, springing up and driving a dagger towards their throat, as Kiyana tightened her grip around their wrists.

Right before I could pierce through, Anarchy suddenly jumped up, slamming their left foot onto Kiyana’s chest and sending her stumbling back as she lost her grasp over Anarchy’s wrists, while their right foot whipped right up across to the right, striking my hand and knocking the dagger out of my grasp.

Wha-...damn, that’s some serious flexibility, not good! They then swung their right foot right back down, their heel rapidly swinging in towards me.

I quickly jumped back as fast as I could, their foot narrowly missing, before slamming onto the street with immense force, cracks spreading out from the point of impact.

I need to keep my Nullification active, if they get to use whatever they did that caused the explosion earlier, it’ll be big trouble.

I flung out a couple of daggers at them, which they easily evaded, before ducking as Kiyana shot forward and aimed a rapid flying kick at them.

Anarchy then reached up, grabbed Kiyana’s leg and rapidly swung her down, slamming her onto the ground as a loud crunch echoed out, Kiyana’s arm snapping like a twig as she let out a stifled cry of pain.

Anarchy then swung their foot across right as Kiyana gritted her teeth and drove both feet straight up at her opponent.

Her feet slammed onto Anarchy’s midsection as, simultaneously, Anarchy’s foot struck her chin and sent her flying back a few meters, knocking her out before stumbling back while tentatively clutching the spot where her feet had slammed onto.

I then dashed towards Anarchy with two daggers drawn, rapidly slashing at them as I closed in. They ducked as I slashed at their head, before deflecting by pushing my wrist with their palm as I drove my other dagger at their throat.

As I plunged my dagger at their midsection, the blade slashed through their cloak as they shuffled across swiftly to dodge my thrust, avoiding my blade hitting their body.

I then swung my other dagger right up at their face, the tip of the blade nicking their mask, right as their foot struck the inside of my right knee, knocking me off balance, before they rapidly swung their foot straight up, striking the bottom of my jaw and knocking me back and across, my back hitting the ground painfully as I felt a jarring pain across my jawline.

I quickly sprang back onto my feet and hurriedly crossed my arms above my head as Anarchy closed in on me and rapidly flipped forward, whipping their heel straight down at my head.

I grimaced in pain as I felt my right forearm get fractured, collapsing onto one knee upon impact, the immense force of the strike rattling my bones.

As they lifted their foot back, they rapidly swung their fist down at my face before I could recover, slamming square onto the middle of my face, knocking me flat on my back and dazing me, as they broke my nose. Crap...my focus is breaking, I can’t maintain my Nullification anymore...

"Oh, is that it? I mean, it was fun and all, but over way too quickly. Well, whatever, no point dragging this out now that everyone’s broken," Sighed Anarchy in disappointment, before pressing their finger onto their right ear and speaking, "Hey, Glenn? Yeah, send the Eden pair back, and then send me to our hideout. Yup, we’re done here-...oh, actually, wait about ten seconds."

As I began to get up with a wince, Anarchy approached me, kneeling in front of me and placing a hand on my chest...

"Wh-what’re you-...?" I started to say with a stifled hiss of pain.

"Just a little present, consider it thanks for coming here. What happens after this though, is entirely upto you," They interrupted in a smug tone, as a bright light shone out.

And suddenly, something inside me felt lighter...but before I could figure out what just happened, I felt myself falling, as a portal opened beneath me.

My butt hit the floor with a painful thud, as I let out a slight groan, before Trevor suddenly fell through and landed beside me, the impact jolting him awake with a sharp gasp of pain.

"Wh-wha...? What happened, I-...w-wait, my arm....what is this!?" He exclaimed in shock and disbelief, sitting up abruptly before wincing in pain.

That light just now...could it have been...? This feeling, as if shackles that had been tying me down for so long had been shattered, it feels so...so...

"Hey, what the hell happened back there!?" Snapped Trevor, grabbing my collar and yanking me towards him, "Answer me!"

"Chill out...you got caught in some kind of explosion caused by Anarchy, in which you lost an arm before losing consciousness," I informed him, before adding, "And Anarchy just portaled us back here, that about sums it up."

"You didn’t kill them?" He frowned, as he tightened his grip on my collar.

Tch, at least I didn’t get knocked out and crippled.

"Hey, easy, that kinda hurts-," I began.

"Shut up! I...I lost my arm, to that...to that damned clown! This is so damn humiliating, it’s-...grr, why didn’t you just use your Nullification to kill them!?" He snapped, his eyes bulging with rage.

He’s completely lost it...guess waking up with a missing limb will do that. I could try defending myself logically, but that’ll only piss him off even further. He doesn’t want to calm down right now, he wants something to direct his anger at.

And since I happened to be the closest thing here when he woke up, naturally, he set his sights on me. Guess I’ll try making him feel guilty instead...

"H-hey, stop, you’re scaring me...," I mumbled as I widened my eyes with a meek expression.

"Huh? And?" He responded coldly, before tossing me onto the ground with a spiteful mutter.

Ow...well, that didn’t work. Let me try lying...

"You don’t have to be so rough, you know. FYI, if it wasn’t for me, you’d have lost more than just your arm, you would’ve been killed and-...," I began, before letting out a gasp of pain as he stomped on my stomach harshly, knocking the wind out of me.

"Just shut up, you damned tool! You’ve been awfully insolent lately...it’s time to tighten up your leash again, you’ve been given too much freedom. Know your place, you bitch, get back to your cell," He growled venemously, before turning around and starting to walk away.

"Why don’t you tell me how you really feel?" I muttered dryly in response.

You know what...I’ve had enough of this. I don’t deserve this. Yeah...I’ve suffered enough.

I tentatively got back onto my feet, letting out stifled hisses of pain as I aggravated my injuries, my body trembling and shaking as I slowly stood back up.

I then approached Trevor from behind, steeling my mind, right as he paused and turned around with a conflicted look on his face...

"Maybe I was a bit too harsh, you’re-...agh...!" He began, before I interrupted him by jamming my last dagger into his throat as I simultaneously activated my Nullification, meeting his gaze coldly.

"You know, I have to admit, I really didn’t hate you...but regardless, enough is enough. So, die," I remarked icily, as I twisted the blade and violently wrenched it out, tearing his throat open.

Strangled chokes echoed out of his mouth as he collapsed onto the ground, writhing in agony before his body went limp, blood pooling around his head as the light in his eyes faded.

I...I did it. I really did it...alright! Now, then...time to sneak out of here. I’m done being trapped in this place.

As I headed forward through the corridor, I glanced back hesitantly...I’d like to take Petra and Miraliz with me, but their Conditions will make that complicated. So I can’t leave with them.

But...I won’t abandon them. I’ll be back to get them out of here. Hm...but how?

Wait, that’s it, Harmony’s Outliers...Petra’s twin brother is among them. If I can find them, I can bargain for my safety in return for the coordinates this location...but I need to hurry.

I’ll go back to Sri Lanka, I’ve still got the fake passport I used earlier today. I reached into Trevor’s pocket and took out his phone...I know his passcode, I once happened to get a look at him inputting it when he thought I was asleep.

I’ll use his account to book myself a flight to Sri Lanka and then find a way to get in touch with Harmony...considering what happened today, they’re bound to stick around there for a few days, since they’re working with normal human society now.

Yeah, sounds like a plan...now, to sneak out of this place and get to the airport... freewebnovel.cσ๓
