Chapter 135: Chapter 134 - Battle at the Lotus Tower(Part 5)

Point-of-View: Neo Cronje

———————————————————————————

I leapt away to evade as Lance fired out a wind blast at me, the sound of glass shattering echoing out as his blast struck a window and burst through.

I jumped through a portal as he sent his arms extending towards me, emerging behind him and blasting out a fireball at him.

He swiftly pulled himself out of the way using his arms, grabbing hold of a metal railing and yanking himself away, before shooting a rapid bolt of lightning at me, which I swallowed up using a portal.

My mind’s all jumbled up right now...I couldn’t decide what to do. I don’t want to kill him...should I just run away, then? Or maybe knock him out and restrain him?

My thoughts were muddled and confused, conflicted and uncertain, I was evading and reacting to his attacks, but all my counterattacks were so half-hearted that he was evading them with ease. freewebnovel.cσ๓

My muddled mind meant that my attacks lacked accuracy, even my portals weren’t perfect, there was a slight instability to them.

"Stop fucking around, damn it! You’re just toying with me, aren’t you!?" He snapped, as he easily canceled out another of my flame attacks with one of his own.

"N-no, I’m...I don’t want to kill y-...," I began, before trailing off as he fired out a lightning-coated water slash at me, which gashed my right shoulder painfully as I reacted a fraction of a second too late in springing away.

"Just...just shut up, already, don’t give me that shit! Don’t screw with me...I’m a threat to your precious leaders at Harmony, once I’m done with you, they’re next, for what they did to our parents! You hear that!? You wouldn’t want that, now, would you?" He growled, trying to provoke me. ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"We don’t have to do this...we don’t have to fight, please just-," I started to plead, unable to think straight anymore.

"Huh? I said don’t give me that shit, not after everything you’ve done. It’s too late...I pity you, and regret letting you get to this point, nothing more than a blindly loyal puppet to those antiquated pieces of shit that run Harmony. But more than that...I’ll never forgive you. I’ve never, for even a second, regretted leaving Harmony...the only regret I had was that I might never see you again.

I...I wanted my family to meet you, I wanted to introduce them to you. I missed you. I kept wanting to see you, so many times...and then I did. But it wasn’t the tearful, heartfelt reunion I’d dreamed of for so long...not even close. All there was, was despair. And for that, for what you did...I will never, ever forgive you," He stated bitterly, tears of rage and sorrow pouring down his face as his shoulders slumped slightly, before he gritted his teeth and blasted out an intense wind blast at me.

Unable to move, my feet rooted to the floor, the blast struck me and sent me flying back, pain erupted across my chest as the attack aggravated my already fractured ribs.

I grimaced in pain as I slammed onto a window, which then shattered and broke, the shards cutting up my back as I fell through, plummeting down rapidly.

He leapt out of the broken window as I fell, his right arm extending towards me and wrapping around me, before swinging up and rapidly whipping across, flinging me at a breakneck speed towards the ground.

Is this is? Is this...how I die?

Suddenly, a dark blur whipped towards me, smacking me across and onto the lake, dislocating my shoulder as I plunged into it with a loud splash, sinking all the way down to the bottom.

What was that? What just hit me? It was too fast to make out, but it felt kinda spongy and soft...I then felt something wrap around me, before rapidly pulling me up and out of the water, as I let out a sharp gasp and inhaled, coughing as it lifted me out and placed me back on the ground. Wait, is this...Aurora’s Shadow Cat?

"Hey, you okay?" Came Aurora’s voice, as I coughed and sputtered, "Why didn’t you portal yourself to safety? Oh, your shoulder...here, hold still and let me just..."

"Wha-...ahhhh, oww!" I exclaimed in pain, as she pushed my shoulder back in place, snapping me out of it.

"Sorry. Surprised to see you so badly beaten up...is that guy really that strong?" She inquired, as she shifted her gaze up ahead, where Lance was approaching us, "Huh...he kinda looks like you."

"This guy a friend of yours?" Said an unfamiliar voice, as a guy I didn’t recognize stared at me.

Oh, is he the Werewolf we saw before? I’ve never seen one with black hair or fur before.

"Out of my way...this is between me and him, so leave, or I’ll kill you," Lance remarked threateningly, as he formed a fireball.

"Yeah, I don’t think so, guy. You’re the one who should leave if you don’t want to die," Responded Aurora, fully forming her Shadow Cat, wincing slightly.

She’s in bad shape...oh, that’s right, she was fighting Lucifer. I don’t see him anywhere...did she manage to kill him? And is she in any shape to fight right now?

"Tch, do you really think I’ll just listen and do as you say? I warned you, now die," He growled, as he formed a fireball, right as Aurora sent one of her shadowy arms rapidly extending towards him...when suddenly, a portal opened beneath him and he fell through with a surprised yelp.

"Uh...was that you?" Inquired Aurora in bemusement.

"No...it wasn’t," I frowned, as I began to get up, stiffening as I aggravated my injuries.

"Seriously? Then Chaos’s portal user is here too, huh...," Frowned Aurora, as she looked around warily.

Suddenly, I felt completely drained and exhausted, feeling a bit faint as my vision blurred, my head feeling kinda light. Damn it...what the hell was I doing back there?

I was so indecisive and downright panicked...and the worst part is that I doubt I’ll be any better if and when I encounter him again. Damn it...

Point-of-View: Mike Barnes

———————————————————————————

Damn, this guy is annoying...and to make matters worse, he’s also pretty strong. He’s clearly inexperienced in combat, but there’s something disconcerting about the way he fights, as if he’s purely letting adrenaline and impulse control his actions.

"Hey, uh, how about we team up and take out the other guy, and then get back to fighting each other?" I suggested, as I evaded a wind enhanced punch from him.

"Huh? Hell, no! This three-way fight is super fun, why would I want to ruin that?" He responded with a grin, as he formed a wind blade along his palm and slashed at me, which I dodged and countered with a kick to his midsection, sending him stumbling back.

I then sprang back while he quickly flew up as a large, shredding water sphere came blasting towards us, evading it as it struck the ground and burst out, snapping a nearby pipe, steam bursting out of it at the metal broke.

"By all means, team up against me...I’ll kill you both," Remarked the Eden guy, a dark look in his eyes.

"Oh, damn, that was kinda badass!" Exclaimed the Outlier, as he rapidly blasted himself straight down at him, an intense explosion of wind bursting out as his feet slammed onto the ground, a dense dust cloud rising up.

I quickly backed away and got some distance warily, as I formed a rapidly spinning water blade in my hand.

A fiery glow appeared from inside the dust cloud, growing brighter before bursting out into roaring flames, right as the Outlier flew out of the dust cloud. And the moment I caught a glimpse of the Eden guy, I flung the spinning water blade right at him.

His eyes widened in alarm as he sprang off to the right, wincing as my water blade grazed his left arm deeply, before he fired out rapid water arrows at both me and the Outlier with an enraged snarl.

I narrowly evaded the arrow, while the Outlier’s left side got grazed, before I fired out several rock bullets at the Eden guy, who quickly ducked under it, but one of them struck him square on the forehead, knocking him back.

I then sprang back as a wind blast came shooting down at me from above, evading it as it struck the ground and kicked up a dust cloud, the Outlier rapidly swooping in towards me, with a rapidly swirling wind blast in his hands, before quickly halting and starting to fly away as a fireball came blazing towards him.

But he was too slow to react, letting out a cry of pain as the fireball struck his back, before I sprang straight up as another fireball came barreling towards me. The Eden guy was back on his feet, his forehead bleeding profusely.

He then copied my earlier move and formed a spinning water blade, taking aim at the Outlier, who was struggling to stay airborne, a pained look on his face. But before he could fire it, a blur came shooting towards him from behind and struck his back, eliciting a surprised cry from him as he got knocked forward and fell on his face.

"I’m finally in the fray! I was starting to feel kinda left out, but all the fights were already well underway, so I wasn’t sure where I could jump in. But it felt like I just got an opening right now, so I jumped in!" Exclaimed the person who kicked the back of his head, their voice distorted.

"Anarchy...," I grimaced warily.

"Yo, Afro, you good to keep going?" They called out to the Outlier.

"Uh...I dunno, this really hurts, it’s kinda spoilt my mood. I’m not really feeling this anymore," He frowned in response.

Seriously?

"Got it, then I’m tagging in. See ya later," They waved at him, as a portal suddenly appeared and swallowed up the Outlier, who was tentatively poking at his burnt back.

"The hell...?" I muttered in bemusement.

"Hey, you still alive, Trevor? I didn’t kick you that hard, are you more fragile than I-...woah!" Exclaimed Anarchy, as he suddenly got up and fired out a water blast at them with an enraged look on their face.

"You bastard...I’ll kill you!" He snapped furiously.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever. So, hey, you guys wanna see something cool?" Suddenly remarked Anarchy, as they held up both their hands.

"Uh, what?" I responded in bewilderment...what is with this person?

Are they being cocky, or just straight up stupid?

"See, here in my right hand, is a Light Skill Blast," They stated in an amused tone, before letting out a slight chuckle, "And here in my left hand...is a Dark Skill Negative Blast. Now, pop quiz...what happened if I combine the two? Cancel each other out and nothing happens, maybe? Or instead...?"

"Cut the crap...," Growled the Eden guy, while I slowly backed away...I’ve got a bad feeling about this.

"Heh, looks like Mike’s got the right idea," Laughed Anarchy, before slowly combining the two opposing blasts, "Trust me, this is something you absolutely do not want to get hit with. Dodge if you don’t wanna die!"

As they fired the blast, a strange light burst out, it felt like I was staring at both a blinding light and pitch black darkness at the same time, the contradicting light rapidly expanding as it burst out...
