"This is wild...first, Dracula shows up, and now this Fallen Angel or whatever, who you said is Lucifer. I bet everyone in the world knows those names, but except for Meta and Demi-Humans, they all probably thought they were just fictional characters," Remarked Miraliz in fascination.
"Yeah, I knew they were real, but I never expected to ever see either of them in my lifetime, let alone both of them," I responded in agreement.
Today’s the 8th of July, and as I usually was these days during my free time, I was currently in Miraliz’s cell, along with Petra, who was looking over Miraliz’s shoulder as she scrolled through social media.
"Looks like Harmony is cooperating with the UN now. In addition to the cricket stadium that was attacked, it looks like this Lucifer guy also attacked a small town in Sri Lanka, though there’s no footage of that," She pointed out in fascination.
"Yeah, I don’t get that...the first attack was in London, with a huge crowd, but the second was in some random obscure town?" I frowned in bemusement.
"Well, maybe Chaos is trying to be unpredictable or something?" Suggested Miraliz uncertainly, "But, yeah, it is still weird. You told us that a summoned Demon usually can’t stay in the living word for more than a week, right, depending on the summoner’s Aura capacity?"
"Mhm, but a high level Demon like Lucifer would require a lot more Aura than a regular Demon, so he might already be back in Hell. Especially since he’s gone on two rampages, that would have cut his time limit down even further," I surmised thoughtfully.
"It’s weird, these attacks seem to be partly to provoke Harmony...so, then, why haven’t Chaos done anything to provoke Eden yet?" Wondered Miraliz curiously.
"I mean, they kinda don’t need to...with the way the Eden higher ups have been cracking down on any members they deem to be even remotely suspicious in their paranoia, Eden’s kinda starting to collapse in on itself. I mean, at this point, we’re more trustworthy to them that most of their actual members, since we literally can’t betray them thanks to our Conditions," I scoffed in amusement.
Have to say, I’ve really been enjoying watching Eden implode like this...
"Hm? Hey, I think I hear someone coming," Remarked Petra, before I heard them too, the faint echo of approaching footsteps.
"It’s probably just Trevor again. I’ll go see what he wants," I sighed, as I hopped off Miraliz’s bed and walked out of the cell.
Sure enough, it was him...
"You’re doing it again? Stop making a habit of taking that little bitch out of her cell," He growled, as he noticed Petra’s empty cell.
"Relax, it’s not like she can do anything, thanks to the Condition. Anyway, what’s up?" I greeted him in response.
"Nothing in particular. Everyone up there is so on edge that it’s exhausting, the higher ups are pissing me off too. Grr, can you believe they had the nerve to suggest that I might be a member of Chaos!? Who do they think they are, those rotting old geezers," He growled irritably.
Ahh, he’s here to complain.
"Must be tough, especially with how fiercely, and kinda creepily, loyal you’ve been to Eden," I grinned, as I patted his shoulder.
"...don’t call me creepy."
"Hehe, sure, my bad. So, you looking for some comforting?" I inquired teasingly, as I leaned forward and pulled down on my collar a bit, giving him a glimpse of my cleavage. fгeewebnovёl.com
"Wh-wha...cut that out!" He snapped as his face turned red, "After all, what would you do if I actually responded affirmatively?"
"Huh? Are you...actually being considerate? Aww, how sweet," I smirked as I nudged him.
"Enough. Why do always insist on pushing my buttons, it’s so-," He began with an exasperated sigh.
"Wow, it’s just like Wrest said, nice," Suddenly came a distorted voice from behind me.
I quickly spun around and sprang back, as three people walked out of a portal. Crap...that’s Dracula. And Anarchy. And, uh...a slightly chubby blonde guy with freckles. Wait, I think he was with Anarchy during that first UN conference. He must be their portal user.
"Hey, quickly, now!" Snapped Trevor at me.
"Yeah, yeah, I got it," I responded, as I activated my Nullification.
"Oh, wow, so this is what it feels like to have my powers blocked. Well, anyway, I’m here to talk," Remarked Anarchy, as Trevor stepped forward threateningly, "No need to act tough, your powers are nullified too, after all."
"You...I have nothing to speak to you about! You have some nerve...I’ve a good mind to inform Harmony about your identity!" Growled Trevor in response.
Oh, Petra and Miraliz are peering out of the latter’s cell, both looking shocked and fascinated at the same time.
"Yeah, sure, you certainly could do that...but that’d be helping Harmony, you sure you wanna do that? And besides, I don’t plan on keeping my identity a secret forever, it’s gonna be a big reveal that shocks everyone! Just imagining it excites me, the thought of all the people in Harmony who consider me their friend, their expressions when they find out who I am...I can’t wait to see them!" Sighed Anarchy happily.
This person’s just as much of a lunatic as I’d assumed...
"So, uh, why are you here, exactly?" I inquired, as Trevor was clearly too furious to talk things out right now.
The only reason he was holding himself back was probably because Dracula is here...
"I just thought Eden might be feeling left out, so I came to pay a visit. Also, to inform you that our next attack featuring Lucifer will be in Sri Lanka, at the Lotus Tower in Colombo. And I want Eden to send her into the mix," Responded Anarchy, pointing at me.
"Wait, what?" I replied in bemusement.
"And why would we ever listen to you?" Frowned Trevor, clenching his fists as he trembled with rage.
"Simple...because if she doesn’t show up, I’ll attack a bunch of Eden’s hidden bases with this guy," Countered Anarchy, gesturing to Dracula, who looked a little annoyed at being used as an intimidation prop.
"If you really think you can get away with threatening us-!"
"Huh? Of course I can! I mean, Eden’s been imploding lately, haven’t they? That’s why I’ve left you guys alone so far, because it’d be too easy to destroy your organization in its current state!" Scoffed Anarchy in response.
Oh, wow...so, I was actually right about that.
"And what’s stopping me from killing you right here and now?" Inquired Trevor icily.
"This guy," Laughed Anarchy, gesturing to Dracula again.
"Is this seriously why you brought me along?" He sighed in exasperation.
"Sshhh, just stand there and look intimidating, my dude, it’s totally working," Came the response.
"Anyway, I’ve checked out the flight schedules, and you’ll be able to make it to Sri Lanka pretty easily, with time to spare. Or, we could portal the two of you there right now," Offered Anarchy, sounding like they were really enjoying themselves.
"You damned bastard...!"
"So touchy, sheesh. Fine, I’ll throw you guys a bone. I mean, Harmony knew about us several months ago, while you guys only found out recently...so, here’s some info that Harmony isn’t aware of. The Aero Skill Outlier is with Chaos, so you can stop looking. I plan to have him be a part of tomorrow’s attack too, along with a few other members of Chaos. It’s gonna be quite the spectacle. And I want your Nullification ability to be involved too, to add some extra spice to the mix," Anarchy said to me.
"Uh, okay...?" I responded in bemusement.
I gotta say, I kinda don’t dislike this person...the way they think is so interesting. And it’s been a while since I’ve been a part of some action, this could be fun.
"Hm? What’s this? That look in your eyes...you’re into this, aren’t you?" Chuckled Anarchy, patting my shoulder a couple of times, "Awesome, you might be a good fit for Chaos."
If I undo my Nullification right now...will they use Dispel on me and break my Condition? No, it’s too risky...because if they don’t, and Trevor realizes what I tried to do, I’ll be screwed.
"You’re gonna pay for this, I swear it...," Growled Trevor.
"Sweet, I’ll take that as an acceptance of my request. I look forward to seeing you two tomorrow. Alright, you can cut out your Nullification now," Anarchy informed me.
"Don’t do it! We can’t just let them get aw-!" Began Trevor.
"You do realize that we can get our way by force, don’t you?" Pointed on Anarchy, before nudging Dracula, who let out an annoyed sigh before stepping forward.
"I suppose knocking this one unconscious will stop the Nullification?" He remarked, as he narrowed his eyes at me.
"Yeah, uh, I don’t wanna be smacked around by a Vampire again, so...," I responded, before undoing my Nullification.
"Ah, you have encountered another of my kind before, have you?" Responded Dracula with a look of interest, as the chubby guy opened a portal.
"Oh, uh, yes, sir. I think her name was, uh...Stryzga Strix?" I recalled wryly.
"Now, that is a name I have not heard in a long time, how nostalgic."
Holy crap...I’m having a casual conversation with Dracula! How cool is that!?
