Chapter 125: Stay put
Before Li Jun could react, his wrist was gripped tightly, and for the first time, he felt a great sense of crisis in Yu Wen’s presence. After all these years filled with hatred, this was the first time he felt so uneasy that he wanted to run away from him.
It was like being in the presence of a beast with its leash removed. Yu Wen opened the door to the back of the transport van used for prisoners and opened the door. Li Jun tried to negotiate with him, saying, "Wait, wait, General, is this how you treat your benefactor?"
Yu Wen stopped for a second, and Li Jun sighed in relief. But before he could slip away, Yu Wen put him in the transport van and said, "Stay put."
Li Jun was so angry that he tremblingly called out, "Yu Wen, do you have a death wish?" he was about to curse up a storm when the man took off the pendant around his neck and handed it to him.
Yu Wen knew. He knew there was a risk that Li Jun would run off when he had what he came here for, but he would rather Li Jun be far from this place. He would rather Li Jun be safe. The fact that they were asking for him meant that they knew he was here.
Li Ju didn’t respond. He was just looking at him, confused. He couldn’t understand what Yu Wen was playing at. Seeing him not take it, Yu Wen leaned closer and put it around Li Jun’s neck.
Li Jun’s breath caught feeling Yu Wen’s closeness. His body tensed when Yu Wen’s hand cupped the back of his neck. He closed his eyes, releasing his caught breath, the itch from where Yu Wen’s fingers were caressing his skin. "Keep it safe for me," he whispered into Li Jun’s ear.
Li Jun only came back to himself when the door was shut. His pupils trembling, he caressed the pendant in disbelief. When he realized that Yu Wen had locked him in this place, he lost his shit. He kicked the door really hard before yelping in pain.
Yu Wen, who was standing right outside the door, struggling to restrain himself, looked back when he heard that bang. He knew he had to be hard-hearted, so he walked away. He didn’t dare look back. Just then, Yan Jia, who had gone to get more weapons, was surprised to find that Li Jun wasn’t where she had left him.
When she saw Yu Wen, she let out a mocking snort. She blocked his path and said, "Where is he?"
"Lock her up for me," Yu Wen said. He wasn’t in the mood to deal with her, so he had Alex deal with her.
Alex did as instructed, but Yan Jia wasn’t going to go down without a fight. She pointed a plasma gun at his crotch and said, "Touch me and kiss your future generations goodbye." Alex was so terrified for his equipment that he didn’t dare move. Yan Jia smirked evilly and turned to Yu Wen and asked, "Where is he?"
Yu Wen said, "Lock her up where he is." When Yan Jia heard that, she didn’t fight anymore. Alex heaved a sigh of relief. He wiped his forehead, which was laced with sweat, and said, "Let’s go."
Yan Jia glared at Yu Wen before following Alex. Li Jun, who was trying to find a way out of this transport van, was startled when the door was flung open. He was about to curse Yu Wen for locking him up in here when Yan Jia was tossed into the van.
Li Jun, "..."
The door was closed with a bang, and he said, "Nice of you to join me." Yan Jia rolled her eyes as she sighed. Li Jun let out a soft chuckle, finding it funny.

"Rex 2, update."
"HQ, we can see the four hostages. They are strapped with bombs."
"Rex 1, do you see the hostages?"
"There are three HQ, strapped as well."
The reports were coming in one by one, and the situation wasn’t looking good. Alex gave Yu Wen the update as they stood in the desert valley waiting for the one who had placed the call. "Be ready to act," he said when he saw the dust rising in the distance, his fist clenching.
Alex said, "Yes, General."
Three armored cars pulled up in front of him. The doors opened, and the first person he saw was Theo with bombs strapped to his body. "You must be Theo," he said, and Theo bit his thumb while nodding.
A tall man with red hair and a brow piercing said, "General Yu, it’s an honor to finally put a face to the name. I heard only great things about you. They call you the god of war, a bloodthirsty demon that can never be satiated."
Yu Wen met his gaze and said, "Knowing all that, and you still dared to provoke me?" His voice was calm yet terrifying at the same time. The atmosphere that was tense suddenly became extremely dark and suffocating.
The Helion man felt his body tremble subconsciously. It was like the dark mist hovering around Yu Wen seeped into his bloodstream, making him shiver subconsciously, the chill spreading all over. He finally understood why people feared this man. He had the strong urge to run, but he had his pride as a member of the death squad.
He stood his ground, but it took every fiber of his being to stand here. "We made our terms clear, but you chose to lie to us. I know he is in your camp and that you are hiding him. No matter, you would suffice as a hostage. I am pretty sure when I take you in, he will come to save you."
Yu Wen said, "Then quit stalling. Give me the kid, and I will take his pla-." Before he could finish then was suddenly a rain of fire coming from above.
