Chapter 146: Chapter 146 To rescue Rowena
_Rowena’s POV_
I watched as Theodore miserably hanged his shoulders and turned to leave. I almost laughed out loud watching him. Virella was such a good player, and she was doing so well convincing him that everything she was currently doing was for their benefit.
I know a lot of women like Virella, they never cared about others except themselves.
Theodore would soon discover that for himself. In the meantime, I’d sit back and enjoy the show.
I had a feeling Alaric and the others would soon find me.

_Alaric’s POV_
We were deep into the research of the Informations Kaelen had provided when Reid mindlinked me of a new presence downstairs.
I turned to look at him, and he nodded.
“Marchioness Rowena’s cousin says she has the location of where Rowena was.”
“Hurry up and send her in.” I ordered.
Soon, Celeste walked into the room, everyone’s attention shifting to her.
She remained calm and collected as always, and it reminded me of Rowena.
“Greetings, Alpha King,” She said and gave a small bow.
“You have a lead on Rowena?” I asked directly, there was no time for formalities.
She nodded and moved towards the table in the room, setting the briefcase I hadn’t noticed she carried with her.
It wasn’t even a briefcase. It was a laptop case.
She opened it and we all gathered around her, including Kaelen.
Celeste typed a few things before something that looked like a map appeared. Soon, it was gone and replaced by what seemed to be a medical facility.
I frowned, recognizing the place.
“I had my suspicions about Virella Varkos, and I had someone in this city trail her.” She said and glanced at me. “A day ago, they trailed her to this facility. I wondered why she went there, and I asked my spy to stick around and wait for a lead. There, he sent pictures a few hours later, and these photos were photos of Rowena being dragged back into the facility. It looked like she’d tried to escape and was unfortunately caught.”
My eyes widened at those words. “Where are the photos?” My voice rose with the question, fear crawling into my heart. Why did Virella bring her to a medical facility? What had they done to her?
“I told you they were doing something to her wolf. I’m afraid they’ve hurt her wolf spirit.” Phillip said.
Soon, pictures after pictures appeared on the screen. I saw Rowena dressed in a white hospital outfit, a bandage on her head and on a closer look, she looked really tired and worn out. She just let the two men drag her back in.
My heart sank for her. I felt the pain even before it arrived. I couldn’t wait to get her back here, in my arms.
“We need to go there!” I said, and the others nodded in agreement. I turned to Reid, “Get a few guards ready, we’ll leave in a few minutes. I need to discuss something with Celeste.”
I pulled Celeste aside while others prepared. We sat at the far end of the room and I looked at her intently.
“How did you know it was Virella?”
“Before Rowena came to this city, I had accidentally found out about Rowena’s affair with Theodore Ashford. I made a little research about him and what he does, I found out he was head over heels for Virella and he could do anything for her. She just needed to say the word. So, I knew they would be a big issue for my sister. I planted two of my men into their team unknowingly, and they deliver informations to me.” she paused and glanced at the glass of water Ezekiel suddenly provided. No one even asked for water.
I just knew he wanted to eavesdrop.
“No worries, continue. Continue.” he smiled and waved at Celeste who just kept a poker face without saying a word.
“Get out.” I said, glaring at Ezekiel.
He glared back, rolled his eyes and turned to leave. freewebnσvel.cѳm
Once Celeste finished the glass of water, she continued. “I planted one of my men at the hotel owned by Theodore, then one amongst Theodore’s trusted men. The one at the hotel found was soon fished out and instead of telling them about me, he chose to take his own life.”
I was taken aback by those words. They were that loyal to Celeste? Just who was this woman? She worked for me, but I didn’t know she had this much ability.
“The second one overheard Virella talking about kdnap, but he didn’t know who would be kidnapped. And before he could find out who it was, he was fished out and killed. So, I had someone spy on Virella. Everything looked normal, she seemed busy with helping Kaelen sort out his trademark issue, but I still had my doubts. The moment Rowena’s kidnap reached me through Kasper, I knew for a fact that she was responsible. Now I needed a trusted ally from this city to trace her and find out where they could possibly be keeping Ro.” She finished and all I could do was stare at her calm expression.
She worked effectively and fast. Faster than any of us in this room. Ezekiel was a genius on his own, and there was Celeste being calculative.
“She’s so amazing, I give her that.” Phillip said.
I agreed with him. After all these, I would give her a promotion.
I nodded, understanding what next we need to do. “Let’s go to the facility. We need to get Rowena out of there. She isn’t okay.” I said.
Celeste nodded. “Rowena’s wolf is dead.” she said.
I shut my eyes briefly and breathed, wondering how she was taking it.
What exactly Virella had done to kill Rowena’s wolf just after awakening her full potential.
“Rowena is a strong woman. With or without Kyra, she would push through. We just have to find her. I want her.” Phillip said.
I stood up when Reid walked in, his gaze intense.
“The men are ready, we leave when you give the order.”
I turned to the others in the room, they were all ready. Even Kaelen had a determined look. I might have to remind him that he already lost Rowena. She was mine now, and I would never let anyone take her from me again.
“The location?” I asked Celeste.
“I’ll lead us there.”
“You’re coming? It’s dangerous, Celeste.” I said.
She smiled thinly. First expression she’d let slip since she walked into this room. “Don’t worry, Alpha. I’ve handled worse.”
I looked at her proudly and nodded. “Let’s go then.”
We all left the hotel in a small convoy, going to rescue my queen.
