Chapter 147: Chapter 147 Alaric found them

_Virella’s POV_

I walked into Rowena’s hospital room the moment I arrived at the facility. Earlier, I had visited the capital just to check how things were going. Everything was falling apart for Kaelen so fast that I felt I had accomplished something great.

I’d been all smiles since the beginning of this month. Things kept going according to my plans. Theodore was helpful. Kaelen was miserable. Rowena looks half to death. The process of taking Moonreign from Kaelen remained in motion. There was nothing else I could possibly ask for.

The moment I walked in, our eyes met. I flashed her a small smile, one that showed off my newly whitened teeth. On the way back, I’d stopped by the dentist’s and got my teeth whitened again even though I did it just three months ago.

But if Rowena noticed my tooth, she didn’t comment on it. I wasn’t expecting any comments either. She was and will always remain a nonchalant bitch.

“Have they fed you?” I asked, still maintaining my smile.

She didn’t glance at me and just said, “They tried to, but I don’t eat dog food.”

My smile faltered a bit, but I hurriedly fixed it back in time before she noticed.

“That meal cost $50, and it’s a very healthy meal.” I remembered one of the men talking about feeding Rowena well just to keep her in shape, and then drain it out of her. So far her meals had always cost from $50 upwards. Calling it dog food made a part of me want to slap some sense into her. But Theodore’s words rang in my ears again.

I couldn’t do anything to hurt her for now.

I had to wait for the perfect chance to ruin and disfigure her beyond recognition.

“It doesn’t matter the price. It’s not something that I eat.” She said calmly.

“You’re not better than a dog, you know. You should eat the food or I’ll have them force it down your throat.” I said.

She raised a brow, “I thought you wanted me dead? Why would you have them feed me to keep me alive?”

“Shut up. It’s not for you to know.” I spat, glaring at her.

I took a seat in front of her and watched closely as she just relaxed, even with the cuffs on her wrist, she didn’t look the least bothered.

“I’m going to tell you my secret.” I said, finally relaxing. I smiled thinly, also making myself comfortable.

Rowena said nothing and just stared at me like I’d grown a fourth head.

When I was sure she was listening, I proceeded. “I’m responsible for the trademark infringement case on Kaelen.” freewёbn૦νeɭ.com

“I know.” She said calmly.

I wasn’t expecting that.

“Liar! You know nothing.” How did she know?

Rowena smirked and just said, “It was pretty obvious. I never actually trusted you. You love control, and I knew that you’d do anything to control Kaelen.”

I was impressed by her thinking. If I liked her and we met under a different circumstance, I’d have kept her close cause I hated to admit she was a genius.

But unfortunately, we would never be friends.

I wanted her gone in order for my plans to work. If she stuck around, Kaelen would never give me the Luna title.

Honestly, I couldn’t care was of what Theo gets at the end of this all.

Theodore was hard to control. Kaelen wasn’t.

At the end of the day, Kaelen remained a better choice. If I became Luna, that would practically be me becoming Alpha. I can have enough power and be able to not control just him, but the entire Varkos family.

I can deal with Theodore later on.

“You love Kaelen, don’t you?” I asked suddenly. “And don’t even think of lying to me. You’re pretending to have an affair with Alaric while wanting to get back with Kaelen. You’re two faced, I know women like you.”

“You’re even more stupid than I thought.” Rowena said, a look of disgust on her face.

I felt my entire body go hot at those words. How dare her?!

“Keep the anger in check. Don’t do anything to her.” My wolf reminded helplessly and I groaned.

Rowena ignored me and just continued. “What exactly am I supposed to love about Kaelen?” She asked. “I funded his household alone. I stayed without him for three years, how do I possibly fall in love with him? You think I’m like you or something?”

That did it. I moved from my seat and landed a tight slap on Rowena’s right cheek. Her head turned to the side along with the movement, but she didn’t flinch. She didn’t give a reaction like I wanted.

I wanted to slap her more, I wouldn’t stop until I got that reaction!

“Don’t.” My wolf said again. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

“You’ve hit me a lot these past few days. I hope you can receive what you dish out?” She asked and rolled her tongue over her cheek.

“Shut up_”

Before I could finish my outburst, the door to the room flew open and Theodore barged in.

“We have to leave. Now.” He said, and I swear I’d never seen Theo look that serious.

I got up from my seat and walked over. “Why? What’s the matter?”

“Alaric and his team will be here any second.”

“What?!” I yelled. “How?! Who rattled us out?” Fear curled in my stomach. The Alpha King found out about this place? But how?!

I turned to Rowena. “Did you mindlink them?!”

“She didn’t. She doesn’t have a wolf anymore.” Theo said from behind me.

I groaned and ran a hand through my hair. “Fine. Get the boys to bring her out.” I said, getting ready to leave.

Just then the sound of cars driving into the vicinity reached our ears.

“We have to go without her. They’re here already.”

My eyes widened in disbelief. “What?! No! We’re not leaving her here. She’s coming.”

“Virella! Listen.” Theo lost his cool and yelled. “If you’re caught, your punishment would be grave. You might be sentenced to death. She’ll slow us down, so we have to leave her here.”

I hated that he was right. But we’ve come a long way to just turn back.

We already have her!

Unless, if we’re to leave, I’ll have to kill her here. But not with my hands.

I can’t have her dirty blood on my hands.

I reached into my purse and pulled out a lighter, ran towards the window before Theo could question me, and set the curtains on fire.

It burned up in no time.

“There.” I smiled at my handiwork, and turned to Theo who had a dumbfounded look. “What? She can die by the fire here.”

Theo said nothing and just reached out to pull me.

“Let’s go.”

We rushed towards the door but before we left completely, I turned to take a quick glance at Rowena.

As usual, she remained calm. The reaction I expected, I was disappointed yet again.

Even with the cuffs and fire, she remained calm.
