The old doors of the temple opened with a creepy groan. A figure walked through those dressed in the white robes of a servant.

Seeing his robes, Shen Yuan let his shoulders relax. ’I am back in the sect.’

But when he looked at the face of the boy, his eyes narrowed. ’It’s him.’

Shen Yuan recognised the boy. It was the same man who had followed him the day he fought his first-ever beast, the rattlesnake.

He had managed to give the boy a slip before.

"Wired, I thought I heard something." The man scratched the back of his head while whispering to himself.

He had finished speaking when a small mouse came running out from the depths of the temple and passed through the gap between his legs.

"Eek!" Seeing the mouse shocked him a little. The man jumped in the rain like he had suddenly teleported on a land made of lava. He did not waste another second before bolting from the building.

Shen Yuan looked at the open doors and thought to himself, ’I should leave too. It seems that the boy was waiting here for a long time. What was he waiting for? Was he ordered by someone?’

’It can only be that ’Xin’ person.’ Shen Yuan did not want to come face to face with whoever it was in this place.

From the shape of the mark left, one could tell someone was standing there.

"Is there someone else, or is something else going on?" A voice that could be identified as neither a man nor a woman came out from under the cloak.

The figure only stayed for a second before they turned around and disappeared into the night once more.

Shen Yuan found himself standing before the massive pavilion known as the Treasure Trove.

"It seems I was teleported to an entirely different servant district." Shen Yuan realised this after he entered the market area, which was like a common area for all the districts. "What should I do now? I cannot exactly go back and ask other servants what happened. They would ask questions, and those questions would lead to enquiries. I have to prepare before going back."

"I guess I am troubling her this time." Shen Yuan disappeared into a familiar street. It took him less than a minute to reach the Fallen Blossom Pavilion.

Shen Yuan entered casually through the main door, and no one stopped him. His outfit worked its charm, and not to mention his new appearance, which only made him look more attractive to the woman inside.

All the free ’workers’ on the ground floor flocked towards him. There was a spark in their eyes as they all tried to cosy up to him, making it so he would pick them.

Shen Yuan ignored the whispers from behind him and directly climbed to the second door to look for Candy since he did not find her on the first floor.

From the calm and composed look on his aged face and his expensive-looking robes, Shen Yuan could tell he was someone important. So after a single look, he turned his head away and walked to an empty table.

What Shen Yuan did not know was, the moment he looked away, the middle-aged man with a handsome face and gentle demeanour shifted his gaze in his direction for a fraction of a second before turning back to the front, enjoying the beautiful music playing.

Candy was being especially polite and respectful to the man while standing behind him. She would answer whenever he said something and stayed silent when he did not.

One look at the man and Shen Yuan knew he was an important person within the sect.
