Ivy looked like her usual lively self. When she arrived at the mansion after what happened with her in Las Vegas, she had seemed very dispirited but now over the time, she seemed to have been trying to get over it.

’’Daisy?" Ivy was surprised to see Daisy at her door at that hour, ’’Didn’t you go to work today?" she asked as they walked inside.

Ivy was startled, ’’W-What... I.. Did something happen?’’ she was suddenly reminded of Aunty Lu’s uncertain expressions before she left. Did she tell Daisy something about what was bothering her and Daisy was here to confront her about?

Even if it was true, Ivy naturally had nothing to worry about because she had not wronged anyone. But she could not help but remember how she had thought the same when she had gone to Vegas to take up the new job although she had bad feeling regarding the same. She thought things would be different from how negatively she had imagined them to be.

’’I happened to see Aunty Lu outside your room. She seemed almost bothered. I wanted to ask her if something happened but she left so I came to ask you. Is everything alright?" Daisy did not beat around the bush.

Ivy was relieved when she heard that. It seems like she was overthinking again and Daisy was just asking her.

Thinking of that, she did not hide anything and narrated the morning’s incident to Daisy without skipping anything.

After she finished explaining, there was silence in the room.

Daisy looked in the direction of the picture.

’’That is all that happened. I don’t know about the rest. After Aunty Lu saw the picture of my mother, her expressions changed. And she behaved weirdly.’’

Daisy remained quiet for a moment before she asked Ivy, ’’Is it possible that Aunty Lu had encountered in the past?"

When she heard of that, Ivy confidently shook her head, ’’It’s impossible.’’

’’My mother... she...’’ Ivy fell silent for a long time before she spoke up, ’’She never left US. She.. she had her work there so she never left the place. So, it’s impossible for her to have encountered Aunty Lu.’’

Her domineering tone did not give Ivy the space to continue her words anymore and Ivy knew that Daisy had done it on purpose.

It was obvious that she was still upset about that.

As Ivy got up and brought her phone, she looked at Daisy apologetically, ’’I said that because I don’t want to trouble you in any way more than I already have. But if you don’t like it, then I won’t say such things again in the future. I will continue to stay here and freeload. Moreover, you are rich now, so I won’t have any guilt about it.’’

Daisy paused for a brief moment before she continued, ’’It’s no less than starting from a scratch. And I am certain on your past records that you can get much better offers than this. But I am still extending this offer to you. Take your time and consider...’’

’’I accept,’’ Ivy intervened without a second thought. Initially, she had wanted to say that she did not deserve this privilege.

But when Daisy continued speaking, she understood that Daisy was not just telling her about the condition of the company where she was hiring her but she was also informing her that this position was not custom-made and completely groomed for her comfort so she had no reasons to feel guilty. All she was getting was an offer, but this job was filled with challenges, even more challenges than any other job would have held for her.

’’Don’t be in a hurry,’’ Daisy said.

Ivy shook her head, ’’I am sure. I am certain of what I want this time.’’

The last time when she had gotten the job offer in Las Vegas, her heart had felt uneasy even with all the benefits that it had come with. But this time, even with the obvious challenges lying ahead, she only felt a sense of eagerness to start afresh.
