Chapter 85: Afternoon Clash

"..."

Belian analyzed Mika’s appearance and movements carefully.

Instead of his usual relaxed expression, the now golden-haired Mika had an indifferent gaze. If one looked closer at his down-looking blue eyes with white cross-like pupils, one would get the feeling that Mika was dwelling in superiority.

Belian slightly lifted his right foot from the ground.

"I can deal with them alone." Mika stated without looking at him and without a change in his emotions.

"Is that so...?" Lisa Vonder, the disciplinary committee’s vice-president, muttered with a frown.

Mika and Lisa tensed up their calves and thighs as they prepared to charge.

However, the moment Mika pushed himself from the ground, Lisa was already behind him.

Her body was engulfed with lightning sparks.

"...?"

Mika twisted his neck to her. And as he did, a long and thin cut on his right cheek surfaced.

Both stood still again.

"This is a warning from me."

"..."

Mika caressed his wounded cheek with his fingers. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm

"Don’t underestimate us." Lisa declared with a sharp and tense gaze.

She pointed her rapier again to Mika.

"I don’t care about your relic or-"

But before she could end her phrase, Excalibur’s tip blocked her vision with each passing moment.

"!"

Lisa was able to dodge just in time.

"You lunatic... Did you just throw your sword...?" she wondered both stunned and bewildered as she looked behind her.

[So you finally got accustomed to this fighting style, huh?]

Unbeknownst to her, Mika switched his weapon, wielding now the Holy Spear.

"What-"

Mika swung his spear horizontally, which she also ducked by bending her upper body backward.

He skillfully spun around the spear in his hand and quickly shifted to a vertical swing.

This time, she had no time to react and was hit in the stomach, crashing to the ground with the back first.

"Hng...!"

And as if it was a fight to the death, Mika switched his handle on the spear, holding it now like he was about to throw it at her even though she was lying right in front of his feet.

"?!"

She rolled to the side and leaped from the ground when Mika threw the spear down.

"What killing intent..." she murmured flabbergasted with wide eyes as she stared at the spear, which was deeply stuck in the ground.

Still indifferent, Mika casually pulled it out and pointed the spearhead at her.

"Enlarge." he said bluntly.

"What now...?!"

The spear increased its length rapidly, looking like it was shooting off from Mika’s hands.

Lisa jumped away again and used this opportunity to counterattack.

More lightning gathered around her body.

"..."

"Got you...!" she stated with an exhausted smirk.

She managed to stab Mika in the stomach with her rapier. Due to her not wanting to injure him too critically as the task was just to take him into custody, she did not stab him too deeply.

"Huh?"

Mika took hold of her hand, which wielded the rapier.

The Holy Spear shone brightly, blending her from the side.

"Are you sure that you got me?" Mika asked as he raised his hand, which held the shining spear.

"...?"

She looked at the weapon, whose sharp changed.

"A sword...?"

The light around it dispersed, revealing Excalibur once more.

"Wait! Didn’t you just throw it away?!"

"..."

His grip on her hand tightened.

"Tch..."

"Mika, stop! That’s enough!" Belian shouted concerned from the sidelines.

He rushed to them when he noticed that Mika was about to swing his sword down.

"Haven’t I just told you to not underestimate me...?" Lisa said, feeling both nervous and annoyed.

"Hm?"

Mika looked at his left hand, where he felt a prickle.

"Take this!" Lisa shouted fiercely.

She put everything she had into grilling him with lightning.

"Keh..." he groaned for a moment.

But as soon as the lightning reached Excalibur, Mika was freed from the lightning attack.

"What...?"

Lisa was shocked to her core.

In her moment of disbelief, she slightly glanced to her side, where she saw a sword, whose golden hilt and cross-guard were cross-shaped on each end and whose pure white and double-edged sword reflected everything looking at it, came down on her.

"Mika!"

Belian had both hands on the left side of his waist. It looked like he was about to draw a sword out despite having no sword attached to his waist.

"You crazy bastard...!"

"That’s enough...!"

Before Belian could get between them, the two other white class students, who were also part of the disciplinary committee, got between Mika and Lisa.

The two blocked off the slash with their swords.

"..."

Mika jumped to the back.

"Are you alright, Lisa?"

"Can you still fight?"

The two, who came to her rescue, had similar appearances.

Their bodies were well-trained without appearing too bulky. They had blonde hair, whose right or left half was slicked back, depending on who it was, while the corresponding other side of the hair was reaching to the eye.

"Twins?" Mika muttered naively with a slight head tilt.

The eyes of one of them was red, whereas the other one had blue eyes.

In addition, they wielded swords, which seemed like a great sword split in half, making it possible for those, who did not have the strength for a great sword, to wield at least a half from that.

"I’m Elfran." the one with red eyes said.

"And I’m Elwan." the other one with blue eyes added.

"And we, the Waretin brothers, will defeat you!" the two said in sync, pointing their swords at Mika.

However, they were not the only ones.

"..."

Mika scanned the surroundings as he noticed every student, who were standing at the sidelines just a few moments ago, approaching him.

"Now, everyone! Get him!" Grun shouted enthusiastically.

"Yes, sir!"

Mika heaved a sigh.

Excalibur changed back to the Holy Spear.

"Hm?"

"Stay on guard, Elfran!"

Mika swung the spear above his head around.

"..."

While the other disciplinary committee members got closer and closer, Belian decided to pull back.

Still, he had a weird feeling in his chest.

He remembered their fight from a couple of weeks ago.

"Something about him is different..." he murmured as he broke into a slight cold sweat.

The spear in Mika’s hands increased its length once again while he kept swinging it around. ƒreewebɳovel.com

"Uwah!"

"Argh!"

"Buergh!"

Some students were skilled enough to dodge, but aside from them a majority of the crowd was hit by the spear and wiped off the area. They were sent flying away as Mika kept swinging the long spear.

"Shrink."

After a while, Mika decided to change it back to its original size.

The damage he dealt the opponents was heavy. Only a handful of students, including the white class students were standing.

"Unbelievable..."

"And you want to tell me that he is a black-class student...?!"

"Damn it..."

Mika managed to destroy their fighting spirit through his power.

"Do you wish to continue?" he asked without his emotionless face having changed once during the entire fight.

"Tch!"

"Don’t get cocky with us!"

"Just you wait! If the president was here then you would be on your knees!"

Lisa and the Waretin brothers charged at Mika simultaneously.

They gathered magic on their weapons.

"Those aren’t relics, right?"

Mika jumped backward again.

"That’s correct, Those aren’t relics, still even though they aren’t those weapons and our skills are enough for you!" Elfran replied.

"Just because we use weapons, doesn’t mean that they’re relics!" Elwan elaborated.

"We will prove that having a relic won’t automatically make one stronger and superior." Lisa stated sternly.

They proudly showed off their weapons.

"I see."

"I will fight, too." Belian, who appeared at Mika’s side, said, not asking for permission.

"..."

He stared at the willing Belian.

[1 minute left.]

It was now Mika and Belian versus three white-class students and two red-class students.

"Then, I will take those three. Can you handle the other two at the back?" Mika asked.

"Hey, don’t screw with me. Let me fight against those three." Belian retorted with an equally stoic expression and tone.

"Weren’t you the one who wanted to support me?"

"..."

Belian glanced at Mika.

"Were you always so arrogant?"

"..."

"What do you mean?" Mika asked back after a pause.

[...]

"Are those first-years for real...?" Elfran said baffled, watching Mika and Belian argue in front of them.

"Wait... I know that other guy. Isn’t that Belian Ziva?" Elwan stated pensively.

"Yes, I heard of him, too. Apparently, the students call him the strongest." Lisa explained.

"The strongest? Tch! Those brats haven’t seen our president yet!" Elfran replied offended.

The three conversed among themselves until a red-class student approached them from behind.

"Ehm, what should we do...?" the student, who was visibly all banged up, asked sheepishly while also looking at the other red student, who was also not unscathed.

Lisa sighed.

"You may go and treat those, who were sent away just now. It seems like this task is a lot tougher than I expected."

"Then, shall I lend you a hand?"

"!"

"?!"

Everyone’s eyes widened at the arrival of a new person.

Only Mika’s gaze sharpened at the vile grinning person, who descended from the sky to the center of the place.

"Xander Maystra..." Mika said under his breath.
