Chapter 83: Judi’s Fate

10 minutes before the bell rang.

In the classroom initially just for red-class students, people gathered in the last row.

"Hey, what’s going on here...?"

"What is that guy thinking?"

Due to the absence of two teachers, the classes got mixed together.

Therefore, red and silver students had to take the same lessons. frёeωebɳovel.com

"I heard that he already stood there when the first students arrived."

"Is he stupid? Doesn’t he know about the current tension between the classes?"

The students at the back whispered among themselves.

Meanwhile, a few students assembled around a certain person, who was sitting on the teacher’s podium with his gaze directed at the portal.

"Care to move your ass away from that desk?"

"Just for your information, this isn’t the classroom for bottom feeders."

The students seemed offended by the person’s presence.

"..."

But the person remained silent. His frown was still focused on the portal.

"Hey, we’re talking to you, bastard!"

A student reached his hand towards him, however, the person, sitting on the desk, grabbed his hand and pulled him closer to his own face.

"Where is Cail?" that person asked threateningly with large eyes.

"C-Cail...? A-as if I-"

"What the hell are you doing, Mika Elbar?"

"..."

The person, who was seen as an intruder, was Mika.

Recognizing that voice, Mika pushed the student, he just grabbed, away and faced the one, who called out to him.

"Cail..." Mika muttered before he jumped off the podium.

The students around Mika stepped away when Cail Maystra approached him.

"Now, what do you want from me?" Cail asked ignorantly and annoyed.

Mika and Cail stood right in front of each other.

Both could feel the other’s breath.

"Judi Rein. She dropped out." Mika said coldly.

"Yeah, I know. So what?"

"’So what?’, you say...?" Mika repeated quietly.

"?"

His voice sounded like he was trying to hold back his laughter.

"Ugh!"

In the blink of an eye, Mika threw wrathfully a punch at Cail’s face.

"Keh...!"

Cail crashed into the first row.

"Sir Cail!"

Some students rushed to his side.

"You!"

"How dare you?!"

And some students faced Mika with hostile eyes.

Yet, Mika did not pay them any attention.

"Don’t pretend like you don’t know...!"

He tried walking over to Cail, who was getting up. freewёbnoνel.com

"I won’t let you do- Umpf!"

A silver student attempted to launch a punch from the side, but

Mika evaded the attack effortlessly, grabbed his neck and slammed him to the ground.

"Shit... Everyone, attack!" another student yelled.

Thus, multiple people jumped at Mika.

"The day before Gerard’s team departed for their quest, I found Judi all banged up."

Mika dodged the simple-patterned attacks.

"Now it all makes sense..." he muttered frustrated.

One silver student gathered lightning in his hands.

"It was you, right?" Mika stated sternly and enraged.

"Gueh...!"

Mika launched a kick to the stomach of the student, who was about to fire off a magical attack.

"Gerard told me everything that happened to Judi."

Three red students put themselves between Cail and Mika with their arms spread widely.

"You lured her behind the academy on that day!"

Two of the three students charged at Mika.

One of them had flames in his hands, whereas the other one had freezing hands.

"Not only did you beat her up!"

Mika jumped backward when the two tried to get a hold of Mika.

"But you also threatened her!"

He struck them with lightning magic, which the two were able to endure due to the difference in their magic ranks.

"You knew her family..."

The two students grinned after the lightning stopped.

"Apparently, her parents had a small business..."

Mika stood already between the two, who were too focused on the lightning.

"And apparently, you had connections to the business world..."

Grabbing both of their heads, he slammed them together.

"That’s why you threatened her to obey your command if she didn’t want her parents’ business to get ruined!"

More students rushed to them.

"And because of your damn inferiority complex, you ordered her to injure Gerard during their quest just because he was my friend!"

The other student, who was a lot more bulky, threw a punch, but

Mika blocked it off with his forearms.

He pulled the student’s arm to him and delivered a punch to the chin from below, knocking him out.

"Due to her guilt, she decided to drop out." Mika said as he was now in front of Cail again.

"..."

Cail looked indifferently at the students, who were lying on the ground.

"You caused quite the ruckus, you know? All of this just for something so trivial." he stated still ignorantly as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Trivi-"

"The ones you just beat were all just some C and barely B-ranks."

Cail snapped his fingers.

The students, who just arrived, gathered their magic.

"..."

Mika analyzed them sternly. He could tell that they were A-ranks.

"You barged in here, beat some students up and now you’re also accusing me of threatening a classmate of mine? Heh, don’t be ridiculous!" Cail mocked Mika with a smirk.

"Still lying your way out, huh?"

Staring him down with a threatening gaze, Mika pulled out his sword.

"Come on, you know it, too, right? You can’t accuse me of something without proper proof."

"Then, I guess I just have to beat up your ass until you admit everything."

Mika pointed his rusty sword at Cail.

"..."

Cail’s smirk vanished.

"There’re levels to this, okay?" he said with a sigh.

"You think I will get on my knees because you show off your dull sword?"

"We will see."

Thus, Mika’s sword began to shine brightly.

"Hm?"

"This is your e-"

"Halt!"

"!"

Everyone, including Mika, ceased their movements and attacks.

They looked in the direction of the portal, where two students were standing.

"Haa... Haa... Just in time..."

"..."

There was a heavy panting silver-class student beside a white-class student.

"Tch!" Cail clicked his tongue.

"Belian... Gerard..." Mika murmured surprised.

While Gerard gasped for air, Belian kept staring down at them.

"Mika, we have to leave now before the teacher comes."

"..."

He gritted his teeth.

"Mika!" Belian shouted vigorously one more time.

Then, Mika reluctantly walked to the portal.

"Ha, so you’re running away now? You ran your big mouth and then y-"

"Cail Maystra."

"!"

"We will see you on the day of our battle." Belian announced coldly as he turned his back on him.

And without turning around or throwing a glance at Gerard, Mika left the room frustrated.

"..."

The room turned silent.

"Damn it!"

Cail was the first one to break the short silence as he slammed his fists on the table.

"This little shit...!" he cursed quietly.

However, he soon started to laugh like a maniac.

"What am I getting mad for...? After all, he still didn’t understand the situation he’s in..." he murmured.

The students around him had concerning looks on their faces, seeing their leader losing his mind.

"Mika Elbar... I swear that I will kick your ass out of the academy...! I will not only crush your pride but also your spirit... Just watch!"

Cail’s eyes wandered to a nearby student.

"You. Come to me." he commanded sternly.

"Y-yes?"

"Go to the disciplinary committee and explain to them what happened. Tell them that Mika Elbar attacked students from the silver-red class without a real reason."

"B-but class is ab-"

"Hm?"

He looked into the student’s eyes more intensely.

"I-I will be on my way...!" the intimidated student stated and ran away.

Cail sighed.

"Just watch me, brother. I will deal with this before you return." he stated quietly while he stared at the ceiling.

At the same time, Mika and Belian walked to their classroom. Belian moved ahead of Mika, who had an annoying look on his face.

"What were you thinking? If their teacher had arrived, who knows what would have happened to you? Considering that you were in the minority, you could have faced punishment." Belian admonished Mika with his usual indifferent demeanor.

"..."

Mika was silent at first.

"I’m sorry. My emotions took over me." Mika said, sounding anything but apologetic.

"What will you do now?"

"I will deal with this situation on my own."

"I didn’t mean your scuffle with Cail. I meant the overall situation with the first-years."

"I assume that they are about to notify the disciplinary committee about this incident. At the earliest, they will ambush you after today’s lessons."

"I see."

They arrived at the portal, leading to their classroom.

"But that won’t be a problem."

"?"

Belian turned his neck around.

"I don’t care who it is. Silver or red students. Upperclassmen or teachers. The disciplinary committee or others... I will end this all." Mika declared in a tone that harbored a faint wrath.

However, it was not his statement that shocked Belian.

It was Mika’s eyes.

Instead of his usual sunflower-like eyes, there was a pair of blue eyes with white cross-like pupils.

"..."

He blinked once.

And when he opened them again, Mika’s eyes had their normal appearance again.
