Chapter 175: Grand Order Candidates

It was now almost the final day on the ship. And fortunately, the group did not encounter any dangers or problems in the couple past days.

Since the day, when Belian, Mika and Sara fought each other, the other students of the white class also decided to do some training. Obviously, it was still forbidden for the three aforementioned people to train with each other due to the possibility of them going overboard.

Furthermore, Sylvia also did not show any signs of her self from that night when she talked with Mika alone. She was acting like always on the very next day, however, whenever Mika was shifting his gaze to her, she seemed to avert him slightly.

Another person, who behaved somewhat strangely, was Belian. Mika sometimes noticed that Belian was staring intensely at him and when he asked him why he did that Belian would always say that Mika was most likely just imagining things.

"Guys, I’ve finished talking with the helmsman and according to him, we will arrive in Grat once the sun rises again." Yarjak announced calmly.

The normal people on board were relieved to hear that as they could not wait any longer to step foot on land again. The same applied to some of the white class whereas the others did not particularly show any strong emotions.

Now, with that in mind, everyone returned to their usual routine.

"..."

Mika was like most of the days on a deck chair, enjoying the setting sun on the horizon.

"We’re lucky that we managed to get to Grat unscathed. I don’t know nor do I want to know what would have happened if we were to encounter that thing." Ophelia, who sat right next to him, said.

She was referring to Leviathan, the great sea monster.

"We still haven’t arrived yet, you know? Don’t jinx us." Mika replied half-heartedly.

"And to be honest, I don’t really understand how a monster could be that strong. I mean, with our current lineup here on this ship, I don’t think that there’s anyone or anything outside that could beat u-"

Mika was about to blurt out something stupid, therefore, he cut himself off.

"Sorry, forget what I said." he added.

After all, he encountered a being, whom he could not stand up to even if he had combined forces with a member of the Grand Order. A being that was most likely even stronger than the A-rank demon Zaran. The semi-transcendental monster and king of the Great Jungle, Shira.

And aside from Shira, Mika also knew that he would encounter an enemy in the future, who was even a lot more stronger than Shira as that person was able to effortlessly kill A-rank demons. Mika could not forget him even if he wanted to. It was the young man, who another A-rank demon summoned. Mika’s greatest enemy.

Mika realized that if that sea monster was just on the same level as Shira, then it could turn out to be pretty troublesome. And if it were on the level of Mika’s greatest enemy, then he would not know if they could all survive.

"Let’s just pray that today nothing happens." Mika said with a small sigh.

"Yeah." Ophelia agreed sternly.

Then, Ophelia took out a letter from her bag.

"Here. This is for you." she said as she handed it to Mika.

"?"

He silently took it and opened it.

His eyes widened when he read the title alone.

"My sister told me to give this to you. In three months, basically, when we return from this exchange program, the members of the Grand Order assemble. This time, it is about choosing and introducing their heirs to the others." she elaborated.

Back in the shelter, Olivia told them that she intended to announce either Ophelia or Mika as the next member of the Grand Order, representing the lightning mages if Olivia were to ever step down from her position.

"..."

What Mika held in his hands was an official invitation to said conference. freewebnovёl.ƈom

"Usually, they would hold this meeting sooner, however, they are still dealing with missing seats and are currently trying to fill them before they can even talk about heirs."

At this point in time, the Grand Order consists of only 5 members, missing members, who should represent the earth and wind mages.

And ironically, it was due to the sudden vacant seats that the others decided to officially search for heirs in order to prevent any empty seats in the future.

"Oh, are you talking about the Grand Order?"

Sara happened to overhear the two and jumped into their conversation with beaming eyes.

"Y-yeah..." Mika replied, taken aback by her high energy.

Her gaze fell on Mika’s invitation.

"So you were invited, too? Wait... Doesn’t that mean that Olivia wants to choose you as her replacement?!" she gasped in surprise.

"R-replacement...?" Mika smiled wryly.

"..."

Ophelia looked at Sara.

"You were also chosen by Dura Waret, right?" she asked Sara.

"Yep! Granny even offered me to take her position immediately!" Sara replied.

"Dura Waret? Who’s that?" Mika wondered.

"Somehow I knew that you would ask that..." Ophelia remarked.

"She is the current water mage of the Grand Order." she added.

"Wait, and she wants you to take her position already?!" Mika directed the question to Sara.

"Well, she did say that but the other members were against it as my magic was still lacking in some areas." she responded bashfully.

"..."

Nonetheless, Mika was impressed. It was an incredible feat to get nominated as a Grand Order member at such a young age.

"At least you have the chance to be an official member, knowing her, she won’t give up her position to us soon." Mika tried to crack a joke.

"Us?" Sara asked.

"Yes. She is also a candidate just like me." Mika replied, pointing to Ophelia.

"Amazing! Congratulations! Picking two candidates sounds just like Olivia!" Sara laughed.

However, she quickly stopped laughing.

"So you’re a candidate, huh...?"

Her sudden fierce gaze was directed at Mika.

"?"

"I can understand that Ms. Ross is considered as a potential candidate and based on the reports and our little fight, I can also see it inside you..."

"What are you trying to say?" Ophelia asked with a stern gaze.

"I just wish to see the real you again." she stated.

"..."

Mika understood what she meant.

"Is that so?" he replied apathetically.

"Guys, come over! Dinner is ready!" Lily called out to them.

"Let’s continue this talk later." Sara said with an innocent smile.

"..."

Thus, they ate dinner and after that, most people went inside their cabins to sleep even though it was still early. However, considering that they would arrive very early tomorrow, it was not a bad idea to go to sleep early.

Only a few people were on the deck, like Mika, Sara and Ophelia.

However, it started to rain suddenly, making the others rush to their cabins.

"..."

Mika and the other two squinted their eyes as they noticed strange silhouettes.

"Everyone! There’s something on the horizon!" the helmsman announced vigorously.

"Perfect timing!" Sara stated as she stepped forward.

On the horizon, there were the silhouettes of two large monsters, resembling sea serpents.

"Mika, let’s take care of them, shall we?" she suggested.

"..."

He saw what she intended to do. She wanted to see his real strength.

"Ophelia, can I ask you to watch over the others? Especially, Lily must remain inside the cabin." Mika asked.

"Got it." Ophelia replied understanding.

Then, she made sure that no one would leave their cabins until the danger was away. Some obviously thought that there was another group of dangerous sea monsters but in reality, it was just due to the competition between Sara and Mika. In the end, she somehow managed to convince especially the white-class students to stay inside.

"I’m looking forward to witnessing the strength of someone, who went against A-rank demons." Sara stated with a smirk after she managed to sneakily get her relic.

"Don’t expect too much from me."

The two stood on the ship’s forecastle deck with their gazes directed at the two sea serpents, whose height was at least two times that of this ship including its mast.

Even though the rain started to get heavier with each passing second, the two were not bothered by it.

Then, they jumped off the deck simultaneously. While Sara manipulated the water to create a wave she could ride on, Mika changed his appearance and spread out his white wings.

"Wow..." Sara remarked silently, seeing Mika’s transformation again.

The last time she saw that appearance was during his fight against the Maystra brothers. Of course, she acknowledged his strength back then but she wanted to see more of him. She wanted to see his strength right in front of her.

"How about we see, who can kill a monster faster?" she said with her usual smile.

"Sure." Mika responded, void of any emotions. ƒгeewebnovёl.com

Sara gripped her unwrapped relic tightly, whereas Mika summoned the Holy Spear in his hands.
